As stated, it comes smothered with their house made sauces, one green, maybe cilantro or avocado, the either a red sauce. Not listed in the description was also corn, carrot and peas. Don't be surprised when you cut into it and you see that. On the side was a coleslaw that brought some nice heat and brightness to the plate as well. Maybe the biggest surprise of the entire meal was the house coffee they served up. Today I believe it was their sauvecito. While I was surprised that they would serve such a strongly flavored house coffee, it packed a nice cocoa flavor that rounded out the meal nicely.

There were no New Mexico green chiles, no red chiles--just ordinary Mexican food with microgreens sprinkled on top. Microgreens don't magically make mediocre food special. The service was just as disappointing. There were seven servers for roughly fifteen customers, yet everything moved painfully slowly. Waiting that long for subpar food at extraordinarily inflated prices made the experience even worse. The whole place feels like the kind of restaurant where guilt-ridden adult children take their parents after picking them up from the retirement home--more about appearances than good food or a memorable dining experience.

If you're looking for authentic, traditional Mexican tacos, this probably wouldn't be my first recommendation. I'd lean more toward places like El Beso or Botanas for that. The specials menu described it as being fried in cornmeal, so I was expecting a crispy fish taco. Instead, the fish was pan-seared with no cornmeal coating. It wasn't bad by any means, it just wasn't what I was expecting based on the description. I also wasn't a huge fan of the queso crunch taco, but that's more of a personal preference.
