The vibe here was great - very comfy and welcoming. The food tasted amazing with really good seasoning, and for the price it was definitely worth it. This place did not allow any modification on the the app when I called to tell them, they proceeded to tell me that my door dasher had left even though I called the dasher and he said he didn't pick it up yet. So instead of just remaking them they lied, and did not offer to make any new ones. Also very rude I definitely recommend going some where else the food was also sub par. read more

El Mariachi is such an odd place in the best way. After my last year as a student there I looked through my bank statement and found that I went here at least once a week to get something to eat from here. Although the food wasn't for me, when I finally did eat here I saw why it was such a favorite. The food isn't overly bad or crazy good, it's just okay. But it's okay enough to where after eating here one time I came back at least three or four times before COVID happened. The drinks are amazing and will get you into a nice and fun spot after just two of them (one if you're a light drinker). I've never tried their buffet and don't think I would have it given the chance but maybe someone like it. read more

I ate at El Mariachi last night for the second time. I do not believe I will be dining there a third time. I went to El Mariachi last night for Cinco de Mayo. Being a Mexican restaurant on Cinco de Mayo, I expected it to be busy. It was. At approximately 7:30 PM I checked in with the hostess and gave her my name. She told me that the wait would be about 45 minutes. I expected a wait and told the hostess that would be fine. I would be at the bar, within eyesight, located about 25 feet from the hostess stand. I expect the restaurant would prefer me to wait at the bar and spend money on drinks rather than hovered around the hostess stand not spending money. I also understand that when a hostess tells you it will be a 40 minute wait, that is just a guestimation. At approximately 8:50 PM, it had been well over 40 minutes and I decided to check on my table. I asked the hostess where I was on the list and she told me I was crossed off. I reminded her that I told her I would be waiting at the bar. She looked at me blankly and shrugged. I told her no one came to the bar or called the name I left. No "I'm so sorry, sir. Let's get you a table." She just stared blankly at me, shrugged her shoulders and said, "Oh well." Oh well? I asked to see her manager. She walked into the kitchen and returned and told me the manager wasn't available. Not that he'll be with me in 5 minutes, but that he was not available to talk to me. I asked again about being seated and she told me "I could clean off (or bus) a table myself." I asked for a manager again. Again, she just shrugged at me. At that point I lost my cool a little bit and told her not to shrug at me like an idiot and to get her manager. She did. I explained the situation to the manager. He was more professional that the hostess, but excused her behavior telling me she was "flustered". Even on the busiest night, the front of the house in a restaurant should never appear flustered and that is not an excuse for rudeness to customers. He offered to find me a table, I told him I would eat at the bar...and I did. The manager did not offer a drink or appetizer or any sort of tangible gesture for waiting over an hour at the bar and then shrugged off by the hostess. I do not think I will be returning. read more

Drinks are good. Me and all 3 roommates woke up with food poisoning next morning after eating.

Went there last night around 8:00 they were not busy at all. Sat down and the waiter took our drink order and then asked us if we were ready to order right away. After a few minutes he brought the drinks and again asked if we were ready to order. I said some chips and salsa would be awesome. Dont think I have ever been to a Mexican Restaurant where they didnt bring them out before the drink order and we had to order them. So we placed our order I ordered the Tacos El Carbon with rice and beans. In the meantime I also ordered a small cheese dip for the chips. So the meal comes out I get three tortillas with steak, melted cheese, and onions. A side plate comes out with a small bowl of refried beans and our cheese dip for the chips. No rice or garnish for the tacos. Am i missing something here? So we finish our meal and wait for the waiter to bring us the check but I think he's disappeared we have to go to the counter to check out. Here is the best part.... When getting up from the table i step on what looks like a french fry ( I didnt order fries) I look under the table at a food debris field looks like they went all day without sweeping under the table! And this place got an A for inspection? Really? Come on you can do better!!! read more

El Mariachi's environment is quite chill, friendly staff and good service. I believe they're the only authentic Mexican restaurant in town that offers a buffet, and if the lunch buffet is anything like how the dinner used to be, then consider any cravings for comida mexicana sated at the end of said venture. Also, all you can eat Taco Tuesday is probably the best thing to happen to the west side of town in a while. read more

Great food and service!!! Went with my mom as my lunch date and enjoyed margaritas and the buffet. Definitely would recommend!
