This company also goes under many other names, all serving the 818 area including but not limited to Taxi Movil. Express 818, DO NOT BOOK THIS CO NO MATTER WHAT NAME THEY COME UP WITH AND POST ON YELP! I believe they are operating under different names due to their horrific reviews so that they can trick people into using their nightmare cab services! When I called Taxi Movil in the middle of a crisis when their cab driver showed up, he tried charging me extra for my service animal (this is illegal) the same woman answered this phone as did about 6 other companies on Yelp with 818 taxi service area! Here is my review of this co. posted under the name Taxi Movil but the same woman answers the phone at the other co's and hangs up on you when you complain. CAB COMPANY FROM HELL. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! Here is my crazy cab company from hell story... I had checked out taxi services prior to arriving to the place where I was going to have to call them...I had just sold my beloved old vehicle to a parts place, so I called this company I had previously spoken with to come give me a ride back to where my new car was parked. They had quoted me a very reasonable rate of $30. So the driver shows up. I had forgotten to mention that I had my old service dog with me since he is with me wherever I go and it's almost never a problem. When I got in the cab, the driver told me it was an extra $5 for the dog. I told him it was illegal to upcharge people who have service animals...you can't even charge cleaning fees for service animals, even though the cabs seats were leather, my dogs hair is very short and there was no shedding on the seat which even if a hair or 2 dropped there could be easily wiped off. You can charge the owner if the animals destroys something, but it is totally illegal to upcharge AT ALL for service animals. Here is a link about this about this...https://adata.org/faq/can-i-charge-maintenance-or-cleaning-fees-customers-who-bring-service-animals-my-business Anyway, the driver insisted on charging me an extra $5 which is not much, but it was the principle that bothered me...charging someone who has a service animal extra. It's just wrong. The driver had pulled over at this point and reached out to his front desk who confirmed the extra charge. I tried to speak with them but he said that was not possible for some reason. The phone I had did not have reception so I was stuck relying on him to put me on the phone with them, but when I called later, the lady confirmed the extra charge to me and the fact that they do not give receipts and then hung up on me. Anyway, after a few minutes of my telling him it was illegal to charge extra for service animals, the driver said he would drop the charge this time, but next time I should be prepared to pay it (as if there would ever be a next time). He then demanded full payment UP FRONT for the ride for the ride and although I was actually about to pay him, I asked for a receipt and he said he didn't give receipts! Why in the world would I pay him cash upfront and not get a receipt? Especially someone who was only giving me attitude since I got into the car? So that he could claim he never received any money from me? Probably. I then said I wasn't going to pay him upfront since he wasn't going to give me a receipt (and to ask someone to do this is pretty outrageous and unprofessional anyway). He then demanded I get out of the cab! At this point I WANTED to get out of the cab, so I told him I would gladly, but we had driven a ways from where he had picked me up, so I said after he drove me back to where he picked me up from I would gladly get out of his cab. He then refused to drive me back to where he picked me up from and wanted me just to walk back! Had I not had my 65 pound dog with me, who knows what would have happened! I do carry mace and can to an extent defend myself, but this guy was much bigger than me. How could a simple cab ride get this crazy? He then muttered something about me wasting his time!! I then told him HE had wasted MY time!! I consider this company irresponsible and in fact dangerous. I would not use them at all, EVER! STAY AWAY!! If I could give them zero stars I would. Yelp should give people the ability to do that. read more
