Actually Yelp's example review is kinda similar to what I experienced so let me just paraphrase: This place doesn't look like much when you walk past it, as it abuts a carwash and has coyly limited hours (I have never seen it open for dinnertime). There are usually a good number of people here on break for lunch. I usually get a burrito here, which comes with a pittance of chips, but the flavor is definitely there. I appreciate the kick they add to their burrito and sauce; however, I feel like I've been to several places in the area that offer better-quality food at a similar price point. Stopped by once and I already know this no-frills super casual stand is gonna be a go-to spot for me. All I got were carne asada tacos and they were excellent - simple authentic Mexican tacos, delicious tortillas, perfect proportion of tortilla, meat, onion, cilantro, and a nice mild green salsa on the side. Came with a few chips too - nice bonus. Friendly and fast service, only took like 5 minutes to get my tacos. They have some tables and chairs to sit and eat at, which I did because I inhaled my tacos (I had been craving some and these really hit the spot!). My favorite chicken and all the Los Angeles chicken taste like lobster. It is very clean very juicy flavorful very very fresh. The rice of beans are so authentic homemade tortillas. I've never had anything so delicious. This is Los Angeles, California, and you can expect to get the best Mexican food on the most random street corner food truck or strip mall, and so I should have expected that El Michoacano had good grub. But this place has the flavor. So much so that it motivates you to get your car wash in anticipation of the yummy lunch washed down with a bottle of Jarritos! Also, not Mexican at all, I realize but I also have to give props to their crinkle cut fries that my kid loves! I feel like bad crinkle cut fries are the norm, so easy to make, and yet so easy to be generically pathetic....but they have one of the best crinkle cut fries around....crispy on the outside soft and HOT on the inside. You really can taste the difference in terms of freshness - had a carne asada torta and also the quesadilla special (comes with a taco, rice and beans). I earnestly searched Yelp for a place that made good Tortas. I didn't feel like driving out of my area to La Fogata or Senor Fish, which are my go to places for Tortas. El Michoacán did not disappoint. The bread was thin and fresh. with tasty diced pieces of carne asada. I also tried a chicken taco. Unfortunately, I didn't think to ask for a "crispy' chicken taco so I got a soft taco. The chicken in the taco was also freshly made with tomato and onion, and the tortillas were soft. Carne Asada Súper Burrito because it has extra goodies:) Sitting outside waiting and getting a bite was nice. The place looks pretty authentic LA taqueria and being a burrito connoisseur I have to say this was a good burrito. Not too greasy, good size, fresh ingredients, and the meat was good too. Flour tortilla wrapped with goodness. A bit pricey at $7.99 but that's gotten to be the norm for an everything burrito. They served it with chips and their own red salsa which complimented the savoriness. Overall, and I have been to many a taco stand in Los Angeles but this is def up there. Wish it was bigger and a little cheaper but tasted good and hit the spot. Cactus Taqueria is how I measure others and this one was very good. Whenever I get my car washed I always make sure to come hungry as this a great spot to grab something to eat. The food is always good and the service is always great. My go to is a carne asada burrito and sometimes I get the combo with fries but everything on the menu is super good and I recommend coming here even if you aren't getting your car washed. I have ordered various food items on their menu at El Michoacano located by the 10501 Magnolia car wash which the various employees will add on a dollar or two dollars more to the menu prices as well as giving very small portions. I have no idea why they have a menu with prices because its not what they will charge you, plus the food will not be the same as the pictures in the window and posted on the wall. I ordered the taquitos plate and which didn't come with any guacamole. How can a mexican restaurant/fast food establishment charge $14 dollars and not have guacamole with their taquito plate? its a rip off big time I got tired of being ripped off by getting overcharged each time as well as this company leaving out or giving very small portions on their food items. read more

Usually my experience with family owned Mexican restaurants have been fairly well, thus created high expectations for every other Mexican restaurant. A fast way to describe the taste of the burrito is as follows: You know the smell you get when you first enter your grandmas/great-grandmas house? Yep. That's what it tasted like for me.
