Another great evening at El Mirador last night :) We came back to have dinner on the terrace for most likely the last time this year... we weren't the only ones with that idea it seems, the terrace was full, with only two tables occupied indoors. Everything we ate was delicious as always. We started with our usual chips & salsa, and duck tacos - and they also had a lobster bisque as a special menu item, which I just had to try! It was amazing and so tasty. Boyfriend tried the chicken fajitas this time, which he says are even better than the steak ones (I had a bite and disagree, but then I'm not a huge chicken fan). I had the shrimp tacos which was another special menu item this summer... so good! Seasoned perfectly as usual. They are heavy handed with cilantro which we both love, but they can modify any dish if that's not your thing. We love this place so much! It's probably goodbye to the terrace and it's beautiful views for this year, but we most likely will be back this winter anyway! read more

Before heading to a concert in Bethlehem, we stopped here with friends for an early dinner. El Mirador has been previously featured in NH magazine. It's about as authentic as going to Latin America- the chef owner transports you to different South American countries. My paella was very good with clams, mussels, chicken, sausage and shrimp. The sangria had berries and tequila- different but enjoyable. Service was good- we almost missed the beginning of the concert; never rushed and there for over 2 hours. 4.5 stars and worth another visit. Four of us dined here and all of us walked away VERY happy and completely full! We began with chips and salsa - freshly made. Oh yum, what a beginning! I ordered the special - blackened salmon tacos. Nice pieces of salmon with fresh corn salsa in a sauce I wanted to drink! Every bite was delicious. Two others order the regular fish tacos with mango slaw and they both loved their meal. The fourth person gave an enthusiastic thumbs up to the chicken fajitas. It was my first eating here, but it won't be my last. Great food, service, and ambience. Easy 5 stars. read more

This was such a hidden gem! Service was great, complete with the chef coming to the table to check on us during the meal. I only got photos of the dessert because I was too busy eating the entrees. If you're looking for tasty food and outstanding service, look no further! I didn't go inside the restaurant but my husband said it was lively. We sat outside cause we had our furry friend. It was a bit chilly but it was absolutely worth it. We started with apps which were amazing. I don't know if I liked the homemade chips or the fried poblanos better. Our entrees were good portions but that didn't stop me from ordering dessert. I had the tres leches - admittedly, it wasn't my favorite. Next time I would try the key lime pie! This place is absolutely WONDERFUL!!!! I just had one of the best meals ever...I'm a super picky vegetarian, so it's rare for me to be so excited about a restaurant! I polished every last bit of the veggie burrito bowl, which was made to perfection!!! My husband loved his chicken quesadilla, too!! I should have read all of the reviews before wasting my time and $$. The margarita was better than average. That's where it all goes downhill. Charging 8 dollars for a 1/2 order of chip and bland salsa. ZERO spice. My chicken course had some questionable pieces of undercooked chicken. Scary that the cook was more concerned about hand rails outside than cooking food. There has to be a better option in the area. read more

I was driving through town & wanted to good Latin food. I saw this spot on Yelp & I'm glad I stopped in! I had the Steak Bowl & it was fantastic! My husband and I had dinner at this very authentic restaurant. We had their special Guatemalan Tamalitos for appetizers and they were delicious. We know what authentic Guatemalan food is like because we have family there and have experienced their cuisine often. The staff was also very friendly, and came to our table to greet us when they found out that my husband had roots in Guatemala. We highly recommend this restaurant if you're in the area. read more

We tried this brand new restaurant this summer and were thrilled that it is joining the area! "El Mirador" means "The View" in Spanish and it certainly lives up to the name! The fish tacos were the best I have ever had - and my parents said they felt the same way. The service was thoughtful and friendly. The deck is beautiful and was perfect for our newborn baby who dined with us. What a treat for a delicious Mexican restaurant to join us in The North Country! We will certainly be back! read more

Stopped by for lunch on a Wednesday ~3pm, sat on the porch (nice carpet & furniture, very clean tables, nice spanish music) overlooking the golf course. Service was fast and our drinks never stayed empty for long. Nice, friendly restaurant located in a country club. There are both indoor and outdoors balcony seating. We opted for outdoors but there was a swarm of bugs buzzing around. The food was good. I liked the guacamole but felt that the chips to guacamole ratio was off. Needed more guac. I had a churrasco steak which comes with rice, beans, and a bit of salsa/guacamole. We stopped here for lunch on our way from Jackson, NH to St. Johnsbury, VT. My husband and I shared the made-fresh-that-morning guacamole with homemade tortilla chips. My husband had the Birra quesadilla, which caused my internet avoiding husband to say that he would be "going on and giving this place five stars." My chicken/chorizo burrito contained super fresh ingredients with a tomatillo salsa that had just the right combination of heat and flavor. My husband also had an Arnold Palmer (his usual drink of choice) and proclaimed it one of the best he's had. Probably because the iced tea is brewed fresh and the lemonade is homemade. Don't even waste your time trying to get a to go order here! We were staying in Bethlehem and wanted to order out for pick up. We called at 7:00pm and tried to order by phone. They "accidentally " hung up. So we went there and placed the order at 7:20. $88 worth. Besides the fact they were out of guacamole we ended up getting the order at 8:30!!!! When we got there to get it they tried to confirm and didn't even have the order correct. The food was okay but definitely won't be back due to the awful service. We stopped here after a day at ice castles and staying in this area. We had a great meal. Staff very friendly. From the beginning I think the margarita mix is vdry fresh and made right there. We ordered tamale for an appetizer in a banana leaf. I have not seen this in awhile. We devoured it. Great flavor. Then we got the chefs plate to split with a bit of everything. Steak was good and the chicken was packed with flavor. Again the tamale was awesome. Our kid thimbs up on his chicken taco and loved the ice cream and churros. read more

My husband had the steak burrito bowl and said it was delicious. I had the Mayan relleno which was stuffed with cheese and a blend of vegetables. It was good and not too heavy. GF and I went to this restaurant due to the good reviews online. We arrived and were immediately seated. Then things started to go downhill. No one came to the table, acknowledged us or took a drink order for 20 minutes. Other tables around us with 8+ people were seated 15 minutes after us and had their drinks before we finally had to go and ask for someone to wait on us. Waitress apologized and said they didn't know we were there. She then took our drink order and drinks came out a few minutes later. Sodas came out in a can and we had to pour them in our glasses. Certainly not upscale. My girlfriend asked for another soda later on during the meal and waitress stated "we are all out" so she could not get another one. We ordered some chips and salsa and stuffed jalapeños. They were about 12 fairly large chips and a small cup of salsa. Tasted good but portions were not impressive. The stuffed jalapeños were delicious however, portions did seem a little light on this as well. We then ordered The Chefs Plato mix which is their large showcase dinner for 2. Waitress came back five minutes later and asked how the steak should be cooked and we told her medium rare. She came back 10 minutes later and told us that they didn't have several key parts of the meal and we couldn't order it. We then ordered chicken quesadillas and Steak fajitas to share. This took an extremely long time to actually get on our table and the portions were underwhelming to say the least. The steak was very good for the fajitas despite the meager portion. The quesadilla tasted good, but not that impressive. However, upon eating the second slice of the quesadilla a bit down hard on a chicken bone to which my girlfriend heard and was concerned I broke a tooth. Showed the waitress when she finally came back to the table, and she didn't seem to react at all but apologized. This whole fiasco took two hours to unfold from when we sat to when we left. The wait staff was pleasant, however not very attentive. No one offered any kind of consideration or reduction of the bill due to my nearly breaking my tooth on the chicken bone or the insanely slow service or the meal we ordered not being available when we received the check. We paid the bill and left. I do not recommend this restaurant and would never go back. I'm not sure how you can have a very expensive restaurant specialty dinner and not have all the ingredients and have so much confusion about this item and the order for 20+ minutes. Small portions for the prices. El Mirador restaurant is a mess. Stay away! Yelp will not allow less than 1 star or I would give this place -5 read more

Loved everything we ordered and our waiter was friendly and attentive. The service was timely unlike others' reviews which describe slow service. We shared a bunch of apps and the standouts were the guacamole with freshly made tortilla chips (still warm...yum!) and duck tacos, the latter having a bit of an Asian influence vs. Mexican but the flavors melded together nicely. We sat outside on the covered porch of this beautiful old building and enjoyed the views including a passing rain shower. Would definitely return. After some golf the other day, I went here for lunch w/ some buddies. The view was a dragon on the mystical animal scale, STRAIGHT UP. Not gonna lie, they could use some length on the menu, it's monkey in the middle short. We had quesadillas, steak and chicken fingers. We ate all that with our eyes open. Food was all on point and if I had to rate it by the number scale, it's definitely a 4.5-4.7 for a New Hampshire mountain Mexican lunch restaurant with one bathroom. Excellent service from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave. The atmosphere is friendly, not overly loud. There are about a dozen tables for indoor seating. The wrap around deck is being redone so they will have outside seating in the future. The jalapeño poppers were crispy and filled with cheese, they just melt in your mouth. All the dishes looked amazing as they came out. Our food was seasoned perfectly, fresh ingredients were used, and portions were good size. They accommodated us without a reservation during peak leaf season; the table on the porch was much appreciated! The food had good flavor and didn't lean on salt to kick it up.
