Do NOT eat here and especially DO NOT call in your order. Every time we ordered on the phone they get it wrong and overcharge us. I am demanding my money back!!!!!! The food tasted horrid. My husband wanted a simple burrito which would have cost MUCH LESS than the 3 steak tacos they gave us... they were not shredded beef. He could hardly chew them. The beef taco salad tasted horrid! I asked for No chess on THE BURRITO... they decided no cheese on everything. I wanted cheese on my salad--nope. Now, understand I lived in California for over 30 years I've been to Mexico three or four times, I know what real Mexican food is supposed to taste like. This is not Mexican!!!!! I was reluctant to try Berlin's La Casita. La Casita is owned by the same gentleman who owns Jalisco in Conway. Jalisco started out as a good restaurant, but went downhill after being open for a while. My rationale in trying out La Casita was simply, "There has to be a different cook at this restaurant, and hopefully a different restaurant manager". So, I hoped for a better experience. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros lunch special. This is a dish that I have ordered many, many times over many years at a great many Mexican and Tex/Mex restaurants. I spent years working in places like Texas, New Mexico, Southern California, etc. The La Casita menu described the dish as having 3 "Ranch Style" eggs and the clarification in the menu was "Over Easy" when describing how the eggs would be prepared. Over easy is exactly how it was prepared every time that I have ordered it, at every other restaurant, with the exception of Jalisco. Over easy means the eggs were flipped over, and removed from the grill while the yolk was still runny. One does not need to attend years of training at Le Cordon Bleu to attain the proficiency of producing eggs that are "Over Easy". There are greasy spoon breakfast joints all over this country that prepare "Over Easy" eggs to perfection every day of the week. At La Casita, and at Jalisco,, the eggs were cooked until one side was total brown, with the yolks totally hard, and had the consistency of rubber. To say that the eggs were overcooked would be an understatement. For today's order, the dish was sent back to the kitchen twice. I could have patched a tire with what was served to me both times, and it was also the case the last time that I ordered the dish at Jalisco. The second time that I sent the dish back to the La Casita kitchen, I requested that instead of tempting fate for a third time, I would order shrimp tacos. The tacos came to the table on three tortillas, with a side of pico de gallo, and a spiced sauce. The tacos were OK. Note that I did not say "Great". Great would mean that the shrimp had been seasoned properly with some Mexican spices, and bland, uninteresting shrimp was what was delivered to the table. I should caution anyone trying La Casita about one more concern of mine. At Jalisco, I ordered a dish that, according to the menu, contained crab. It did not! What was served to me was not a creature that lived under the sea in a shell. In fact, what was served to me was totally fake crab. Although I have not ordered the "crab" dish that is on La Casita's menu, let's just say that I would be very surprised if it contained any crab at all. Beware of any representations at this restaurant that crab is what is served. read more

Ive been here a few times now just so I could try most of the menu. 2 out of the 3 visits I was disappointed. But the 1 that was good was REALLY REALLY GOOD. Just stick to the tex-mex and you will be fine. read more

The food here is phenomenal. I only give it 3 stars because a few months back, I came with the wife and I ordered a burrito. After the fantastic salsa and chips along with a few drinks, I was starting to get full. When my burrito arrive I ate a few bites and knew there was no way I'd finish it. So I tore it open and was going to eat the meat, only to see the the entire burrito was meatless except for the ends. I called the waiter over and he was embarrassed to say the least. They made me a new one to take home no charge, but that's some cheap stuff right there. The drinks are on the weak side too. read more

Just be careful especially with children if you order a chicken protein bowl. I bit onto a large chicken bone in my meal yesterday and when I told them, they said, "well we debone our own chicken, and it's chicken, sometimes you get bones. " ummm nooo, your not supposed to get bones in your meal! What if that was a child eating it and choked??? Instead of apologizing and saying, I'm sorry this happened, I had to argue with her that I was not paying for my meal, she then asked me" well did you leave the bone in the plate?" I told her, ya, it's in the plate for you! Very unprofessional and she did not care! I've always had good meals there until March 25th. My last time going there! read more

I have been visiting family in Berlin for the past 20 years, and being a vegetarian I have always found it difficult to find a restaurant where I can eat up here. I was so excited when we came up here and discovered Mexican. Not only Mexican but Mexican that is just as good as my favorite restaurants at home. The burritos are the size of your head, and the rest of my party enjoyed those and I have only had the veggie fajitas there and they are bomb! Margaritas are also delish! Yum! read more

Food was great. Bill was incorrect. Our bill was already paid for by another table. They remade the bill and we paid with a credit card, leaving a 40 percent cash tip. One star reviews are tripping. Maybe unfamiliar with Jalisco style Mexican food. Take it from someone who has lived out West, this place is legit. When you walk through the doors, whatever you may think of it, you might as well be sitting down in just about any town in California. Everything from the booths to the way the paint is rolled on the walls to the oddball decoration, it's perfect. Pacifico on draft, Jarritos sodas and house made Horchata. Free house made chips and salsa. This is a hallmark of any true Mexican spot! The menu is a little overwhelming, but there are definitely a bunch of amazing classic dishes in there. Portions have been upsized for the American appetite. Burritos are huge, and offered wet or dry. The three taco plate would make about 8 tacos where I used to live. They make birria that looks amazing, but I had to go with the carnitas plate and charro style beans (whole pintos). It was gorgeously cooked with lots of crispy bits mixed with bigger chunks just falling apart tender. The portion of was huge, more than the four corn tortillas could possibly hold. Thankfully the free house made chips and salsa were there to bat cleanup. The Mexican family who runs the place was super friendly and accommodating, and checked in appropriately to be sure we were satisfied.
