    Menudo with hominy!
    Anamae V.

Was happy to find a little place like this that reminds me of markets like back home in California. Decided to try the menudo, tacos, horchata& churros. The menudo was soo good! We were happy to find a place that had hominy in it ! Most places around here only have the tripe or pigs feet in it. This tasted fresh& didn't need any limon in it! The tacos were good too! Fresh tortillas made across from the food station. I got pastor tacos flavor profile was good, but I'm not a cooked pineapple eater so that's where my -1 star rating comes from. The churros were good but my strawberry one was a bit dry. There were a lot of options in the store. There were also just a few things that prevented me from purchasing other grocery items today. There was mold on some of the flan items. And some of the meats looked a little old. Gonna come back on another day to check out and go grocery shopping then

Tacos are the best don't waste your time going elsewhere the seasoning on the meat the best

El Mirasol is my favorite Mexican food market in the area! They make fresh, in house corn and flour tortillas as well as chips. The standard package of corn tortillas are only $1.25. such a great deal especially when you can but fresh meat in their butcher section to create your own taco feast. I always buy the seasoned beef from the butcher case, it sauteed up nice and is already already perfectly seasoned. They have a produce section full of exotic fresh goodies like cactus and zucchini flowers. I grabbed some lime and whole garlic during this trip. They have a wide array of Mexican candies, pinatas, spices, pots and pans, worship candles, authentic Mexican pastries and desserts! I always grab something from their luncheonette, to go. Today I ordered 3 steak tacos - $3 each and 2 chicken tamales - $1.50 each, to bring home for lunch. It was so delicious and worthy of the struggle to get home fast enough to eat it! I would consider this market a hidden gem right here in Hillsborough County and highly recommend it if you haven't visited it yet.

Truly awesome and authentic Mexican cuisine. Eating everything I have ordered off their restaurant menu has been fantastic. And also the quantity is beyond any other Mexican food around here that you can purchase. They also have a wonderful really clean butcher with fresh meat and an entire grocery store with Mexican products give it a try you won't be disappointed..

I argued with myself quite few times about whether or not I should post this review. You see, this place has some of the best Mexican food in Tampa Bay Area, hands down. For those of us who have eaten our fair share of Mexican food in the continental US and Mexico, you know how hard it is to get a decent Mexican food in this side of Cuba. So naturally, I worry that people will swarm this place and ruin it for the rest of us, if there are move positive reviews. But alas I lost the argument, so here goes! El Mirasol is definitely authentic. You can taste that the food is freshly made by people who actually care about food. I drive 28 miles (one way) to get here. The servers speak English, so don't worry if you don't speak any Spanish. Trust me, I can't speak spanish to save myself. I just say the names of the food I want to eat, after saying Hola of course, and don't forget muchas gracias after that. Anyway, I always get the tamales (12 for $12, you can mix and match), tacos (pork/beef/chicken, 1.75 each), menudo, mango drink and the various pastries. Some to eat there, some to fill up the fridge until my next visit. Oh don't forget to try the salsas. You can take some to go too. My favorite is the habanero one.

Came here based on other YELP reviews. Very warm and family friendly atmosphere. Felt very welcomed. Like being in Mexico. Very traditional authentic Mexican street food. Nothing high end or fancy, but good high fat carboliciousness. Tacos for $1.99 each were just fine. Excellent buffet bar of salsa and pico de gaillo. I had the barbaracoa that was also delicious. Family and kids really enjoyed the unusual fresh fruit Popsicles. Stop by for a small fiesta if you are in the Plant City neighborhood, but I would not drive out of my way to get here. Very respectable overall. Decent food and transformative experience.

    Barbacoa and Carnitas tacos. BAM!

There's no shortage of great taco places around here, and this one is no exception...Barbacoa, al pastor and Carnitas are all fantastic. Salsa bar is great too. This place instantly goes into my rotation.

Such an incredibly beautiful cake. The customer service was amazing!!! I could not have asked for anything more. Love this store!

First time ever here after a morning of cycling. Had the tacos. Sampled beef, pork, seasoned pork and fajita meat. They were great in the freshly made tortillas with lots of cilantro and sweet onion. Also have a bar with pico de Gallo as well as other sauces. Tacos were awesome. They have a wonderful market and bakery here too and other selections that I must come back and try.

    Boracha !!! And delicious

I love this place so much, I have been coming to this Mexican market/ restaurant for about 5 years and the food continues to be authentic and delicious, their carnitas tacos are AMAZING, enough said about their tacos.Another one of my favorite things to get is their tripe soup, yes you hear me lol it's so good and if you are adventurous it might become your favorite too. Among the many delicious things you need to get when you go to El Mirasol is their tamales, I always get the chicken with salsa verde and corn this are so buttery and rich but their pork with red sauce are good too. Now if you love SALSA, this place has a bar with the authentic and fresh made salsas, free when you buy a food item, my all time favorite is the salsa boracha( chunky salsa with tequila).

It's a pink parfait of a place-that's total yum for the eyes. My stomach wanted in on the action, too... so I sauntered up to the cupcake case. Soooo many choices-all of them beautiful. I was so overwhelmed-clearly on a sugar high without yet taking a bite-and quickly chose the cherry chip, banana and cookies and cream to take home. I promised myself I wouldn't devour all three at once and so far I've made it (and I've been home a whole five minutes!!!) I can excitedly report, the cherry chip is divine-a nice balance of flavors... not too sweet. I'll report back on the others later (or perhaps sooner). The little jewel box that is Sweetie's is in the Plaza Bella shopping center, at Bloomingdale and Bell Shoals... and it shares a big parking lot with Naga Tea, the Green Boutique and The Shrimp Boat. If you can find a way to get here though you absolutely should. I've been here a couple times and had people bring me things from here and I'm always very happy. My favorite thing I ever had here was a chocolate peanut butter pie, which was mind blowingly good. However, everything I've had from here has been pretty spectacular. I highly recommend the cookies here. I really love cookies, but their brown butter cookie is incredible. The pastries are really good too. I really enjoy the glazed croissant and I recently had a lemon twist that was very good. Finally, the sandwiches that I've had from here are both really good as well. I've only had the breakfast sandwiches, but I enjoyed the hot honey sausage biscuit and the bacon breakfast sandwich. 5 stars.

We weren't sure we should eat in our car or the bake shop, but are very glad we decided to eat in the shop. The sandwiches were the most messy sandwiches we have ever eaten. There was so much mayonnaise tasting sauce. The crust was too hard to eat, but the bread itself was great. The sandwiches aren't cut, which made eating even more difficult as it was near impossible to bite through the crust. We ended up with a pile of soup/sauce on the napkins we had to put on the table under where we were eating. No plates are available. If I ordered a sandwich again, I would ask for minimal or no sauce. The cruffin was great, but again, very messy to eat. Ordering is at the counter (or online) and when the screen is flipped around, the screen shows a suggested tip over 20%. This is before even receiving your food. I couldn't find the no tip option and chose the lowest amount which was 15% or more. My total was over $40. If I stopped by again, I may buy a loaf to go and a chocolate croissant (to enjoy at home).
