The WORST service I have ever experienced. My family had ordered their food for pick up off DoorDash and after waiting 30 minutes for the food we come to find out they had handed it to a random driver with out making sure that it was the correct order. So we had to wait a whole other 30 minutes and when the food was ready they DID NOT want to give us our food and decided this was when they would do the proper DoorDash procedures and not release the food without confirmation. The person who had ordered the food didn't come with us and they were being extremely difficult when I tried showing them a screen shot I had of the order. And they continued to play victim when we wasted our time and we didn't get ANY compensation except for some lousy 2 can drinks you can get from the dollar store. I recommend the tacos de tripa, asada, and cabeza. I've come here multiple times and various times of the day (busy and slow) and I have never had a problem with the service. The service was prompt and polite. The cocktail list is worth exploring. Overall, a great place for tacos. I also had the pleasure of hanging for karaoke and I had fun. The night I went, there were plenty of people, the food was prompt and polite. I had a soda water "preparada" and it was splashed with lime and served with a tajin rim. Today was my first and last visit to this establishment. This restaurant is very clean but the service was very slow and it was empty. no one informed me that it was dollar tacos I would not have spent $70 at a taco spot on lunch. My shrimp burrito was full of shells and u didn't want side just guacamole and the server told no problem. Was hunting Taco Mexico and found this as its replacement with Taco Mexico joining the other restaurant ghosts in the sky. I think I would have given this place a higher rating only I ordered the chili con queso and the waitress said they were out. Then I ordered a pork tamale and the waitress said they were out. And for my dessert I ordered the tres leches and the waitress said they were out. The waitress said the menu at this restaurant is the same as ricostacosmoyarestaurant3.com Ricos Tacos Moya in Alexandria. If the cat got your tongue you can get some more here with a tongue sandwich. And forget that old saying that it's hard to get a head as they serve cow head here!! I thought Cow Head, but when I looked it up on Internet, sure enough, there was a big write-up on cooking cow head. Some of the guests were eating out of a big black pot and I asked the waitress what that was and it was on a special menu. It had all sort of stuff in it including cactus. The waitress said that a single person could order the black pot as well as them having a big black pot for two people. I'm not sure I'm up to eating cactus as I would worry that it might really stick to my ribs, hopefully the cactus has been de-spinned or de-needled. It helps if you can speak Spanish though I managed to limp along. I ordered the Enchiladas Mexicana which is Mexican enchiladas with lettuce, onions, sour cream, cheese, rice, beans topped with green sauce. That's my going green contribution, the green sauce The place was pretty sparsely inhabited when I was there with a total of 8 customers including myself. But they have a lot of TVs, like a sports bar with the sound at a high level on one of them, unfortunately all in Spanish so I couldn't understand anything. They were showing a soccer match. I've been to this spot 2 days in a row now. First I got the tacos, and they were authentic MEXICAN tacos, which for some reason are fairly hard to find even in big cities on the east coast. Al pastor tacos (BBQ pork with grilled pineapple) were a sight for sore eyes for this Arizona guy. However, the tacos were just OK. Then I ordered a chicken taco salad, in pursuit of a quick, semi-healthy lunch that wasn't from Chipotle or some other such chain. One thing I do have to say about this place is that they season their meat very well. BUT...the salad was really nothing special. Pretty dry, with no salsas included in the to-go bag. For a $10.00 salad, all you get is a really pathetic amount of lettuce. The tomato, cucumber and avocado are all great and fine in quantity, but frankly it's more like a $6.99 salad from Wendy's, just with less veggies and better chicken. I'm really looking forward to trying one of the Molcajetes, as I'd definitely try more of the menu before making a final judgement. They don't seem to be very busy during lunch, so if they upped their game a bit with local businesses and more practical, lunch-priced, to-go options that would be the element that kicks this place from 3 to 4 stars. Born and raised in Mexico, my wife and I are very peculiar about where to eat "Mexican" food in this area. The restaurant is very simple: more like a "fonda", but the flavor is quite good and the sauces are delicious. The "real" stuff. We have been back several times. When my wife took her non-Hispanic coworkers there, they were very impressed and ordered another round of everything. My mother just went recently and purchased two Tortas(Mexican sandwich) and the total was $18. Upon further inspection of her bank account the restaurant charged $43. She does say that she left the tip section Blank since it was Carry out and they weren't quick. So she did not tip, but for them to tip themselves that much???? That's ridiculous!!!
