After my nail appointment I ventured down to meet my sister and niece for lunch. My youngest sister talks about this place so I decided to give it a shot! My food was delicious and flavorful. I ordered a shrimp chimichanga and it came with rice and refried beans. Soo freaking good! Sister #3 always get the chicken tamales so that's what sister #2 ordered with a side of rice and beans and for my niece she got a kids meal with the chicken quesadilla with fries. Only concern is that we did not get an itemized bill, and I'm 99.9% sure the server added in a 15% tip before she handed us our bill as I saw her do this with other bills as she checked tables out. I stopped in with a coworker for lunch as he said they had some high quality Mexican food. I tried four tacos and they were fantastic. Very heavy on the cilantro, but you can get it on the side. For me the favorite was the chorizo taco. Lunch had just started and we were the only ones there so service was exceptional and our order came out fast. I was going to write a positive review today until my bill came. The food was good, the servers were nice and attentive, but they did something very sketchy with my bill. My fiancé and I had a good meal with two drinks each. The food was really solid and the drinks were really good. When I got my bill I noticed they already applied the tip. I ALWAYS tip at least 20% and used to serve on restaurants. I've never seen an automatic gratuity of 20% with two people dining. If there's a large group I do know that there will most likely be an 18% gratuity charge. After paying the bill the server removed the receipt with the drinks, food and tip listed. These people are scammers and you should all stay far away. Never in my life has a server removed the receipt with everything listed that you pay. This is an extremely sketchy establishment and police may need to get involved. read more

This place was happening on a Friday night. There were lots of parties going on and it was LOUD. I wouldn't recommend this place if you're looking for good conversation. However if you're going for good Mexican fare, this place has it. I ordered the ceviche de tostada, taco Al pastor and a chicken burrito. Al were pretty tasty. The taco was the best. Meat was so moist and intense flavor. The complimentary salsa was too watery but it had a good flavor so I didn't mind it too much. The burrito was good too and I liked the ceviche (had tilapia, shrimp and scallops). Overall a good experience and I'll most likely be back to try other things. The hubs and I stopped by while in the area, and we ordered: 3 tacos (carnitas, asada, and al pastor; the carnitas were a little dried out, the asada could have had more flavor, and the al pastor was the most flavorful out of all (I just wished they included slices of pineapples!)), and a steak chimichanga (fried, but literally drenched with Velveeta cheese, this was definitely cheesy! I think even for a cheese lover, it was a bit too much, as the burrito ended up being super filling (in a bad way) and salty). Just note that orders can be inaccurate, and substitutions are not really adhered to. I ordered 5 tacos to go but I waited 25 minutes--not great and hoping it improves. They were visibly overwhelmed but still friendly. Kind enough to entertain a conversation by some well-intentioned if completely oblivious carryout patrons insisting they implement a 3 hour happy "like On the Border does, something to think about..." Well, this place is certainly not On the Border, and thank goodness! We don't need another watered down tex-mex chain in the chain-wasteland that is Woodbridge. The tacos I ordered were delicious and authentic, served with a side of lime and radish, choice of red or green salsa and topped with cilantro and chopped onions--like the Taco Gods intended. Love this place. Our waitresses are always really friendly. I've only ordered tacos every time I'm here but they are really good. I usually get lengua, but my husband gets carnitas and chorizo. Good stuff! I came to this RTM location after I tried the one in Alexandria. I came here for their dollar taco deal. More on that later. Anyway, this location is way bigger than the Alexandria one. Like probably 4 times bigger, and it's also got a stage for live bands. Also, it has 2 bars. Kind of confusing but whatever. When I walked in during lunch hour there was almost no one inside and I was seated right away. We were a party of four, but the lady seating us seemed confused and only gave us three menus. She looked at us like we were speaking to her in an alien dialect when we requested a fourth menu. I have no idea what was going on there. Thankfully, she wasn't in charge of serving people. Just seating them. I ordered two al pastor tacos and two carnitas tacos and they were some of the best tacos I'd eaten in a while. The garnish was A+, and they provided limes and plenty of spicy salsa to drizzle all over my food. Even though I technically had not arrived in time to take advantage of their dollar taco deal (it's only after 5PM), they still gave me a discount which was awesome. If I had to come back to one of the two locations, I'd come back to this one. Went here to eat to teach the twin nephews how to tip at a restaurant because they've just turned 15 and I got them a shining new credit card each. Today's lesson was supposed to be to learn to read the check and inspect that all charges were legit and to tip 20% for a pleasant meal. Unfortunately, it apparently is customary to include a sneaky 15% gratuity :-) That's unfortunate because seeing that we were charged the "service" which really it was just an order taker who unpleasantly asks "is everything ok?" I had to explain to my nephews to be especially careful in reading the bill and to not double tip, something that probably many of our "kind" probably do. Food wise, the chips were stale, the ceviche was salty, my pescado frito had zero flavor. I wish there would've been some type of sauce drizzled over it to make it flavorful. My nephews enjoyed their tacos. We went in at 630 pm and already we could see the DJ lights turned on, I guess it is that kind of place, one where you can't really have a conversation because, really you cannot hear one another, and he music is loud and the DJ lights are annoying. I recommend that if you go, that you check your bill carefully because for us Latinos it is an automatic tip charge added. Hope you enjoy and I wish this place didn't use sneaky ways to automatically charge for the mediocre service. Not bad not bad. They actually moved to another location this year due to construction on the main strip. It's pretty nice!! I'm very simple when it comes to Mexican food. I ordered three thicken tacos and it was refreshing, for real tho. Any authentic Mexican taco is 40x better than Taco Bell. So I really enjoyed it. The chicken is seasoned very lightly, heavy on cilantro, onions with sliced lime on the side and I added my own salsa when I got home. It's a quick meal that's full of flavor.
