Was traveling south on 95 and Yelp had this on their radar. Being from Astoria Queens NY I figured I couldn't go wrong. Astoria has some of the best Pizza in the NYC Metro area. We call our order in ahead of time as we were on a tight schedule. Upon arrival our salads were there for us at the counter. Service was excellent and food was excellent. I recommend the Eggplant Parm. Its what I had. Creamy Italian dressing ......WOW. This will be a regular stop on the way south for times to come. When I walked in, I didn't expect it to be more of a sit-down restaurant. They didn't have slices available, so I ordered a small cheese pie and kept it simple. The staff wasn't particularly welcoming--I didn't get the same warm reception I noticed they gave to people who seemed like locals. The pizza took about 15 minutes, which seemed reasonable. Pricing wasn't bad either. But when I went to eat it, the experience went downhill quickly. The pie was undercooked--the middle was still doughy, and the slices would literally pull apart because it wasn't fully baked. Waiting that long for a pizza and having it come out raw was pretty disappointing. I tried eating around the edges since I was starving, but even the cooked parts lacked flavor. The sauce was bland and under-seasoned. Coming from the New York/New Jersey area, I'll admit I have higher expectations for pizza--but this just didn't deliver on any level. Placed my order with the friendly guy at the counter and sat in their good size dining area- food came quickly. This steak sub came packed with meat and vegetables! I was told the onion rings were good. They were thick, juicy, and seasoned--didn't need ketchup! Seems like the kind of place that has lots of regulars and I see why. The steak was falling out of my sub, which is not common here. It's gonna be hard for me to come back here and NOT get the steak sub, but they are known for their pizza. Food was great!!!! We started with the mozzarella sticks and zucchini sticks. Yum! Big zucchini sticks cooked perfectly. Wasn't slimy. The zucchini has a nice fresh texture when you bite into the crispy crunchy exterior. And their ranch was also yummy. We also had a large pizza. It was made fresh and fast with lots of cheese and sauce. The crust was crispy and chewy. Greek side salad was generous and even came with anchovies. Just the right balance of all of those things. The decor is a bit dated but honestly with their food being so good, whatever ‍. They serve coke products by the bottle and Pepsi fountain. I'm a Coke Zero girl myself so this made me happy. It's very casual. Very low key atmosphere. The service was fast and the server was attentive and helpful. Costa steered us in the right direction with all of his recommendations. Well would I order from them again? Definitely....but they need to get those delivery drivers to pay better attention to customers' delivery requests. Now I wrote on the notes for him to text me and ring my door bell. Dude don't do either..Smdh I'll glad I was tracking the delivery on my phone and just happened to looked down while I was walking my dog to see it was delivered. And you all wonder why we don't want to give out tips before we get our food. I don't know what's up with this because if the delivery is not done correctly they still get the tip when it's not deserved...but I digress. The food on the other hand was pretty good. I got the lasagne dinner that included garlic bread and a small house salad. So for the price it was well worth it. Only couple of things I would say is to add more flavor to the lasagne more Italian seasoning and some garlic. And the house salad was basically ice berg lettuce and a couple of tomatoes and cucumbers. So add some black olives and red onions and it would been great! I was greeted immediately with a HUGE smile by Kosta (owner). Kosta was so very friendly. My go to for pizza in the area. Closest pizza to real NY style pizza. Staff is friendly. Interior needs some updating but food is good.

First visit in five years, won't take us another five to return again! Still some of the best pizza in the area. Visited late afternoon (430 ish) for an early dinner with the boyfriend and parents. We were immediately greeted and seated (your choice where to sit), our drink orders taken and menu handed off. We were given a few minutes to decide what to order and of course, we all chose pizza. Parents ordered a small meat lovers, boyfriend and I chose pepperoni, bacon and mushroom. Food came out piping hot and delicious in about twenty minutes. Quality toppings, very good crust! I travel a lot, and I have been experiencing what most have; a severe decline in food quality and service. I ended up here after leaving another restaurant that never came to seat me. I'm so glad I did. The food looks great, tastes even better, and the service was awesome. Little details like taping the pizza box closed so it doesn't fly open in the rain was a nice touch. The place was greasy and although they had customers, one table had pizza, and one guy, who invited me to wait with, was a passing trucker. This has nothing to do with being "sweet;" it's just a bit bland in terms of herbs and spices. Service was sparse but it was a nice older lady. We ordered some appetizer of mozzarella sticks and garlic knots. Sticks were good but nothing special. The garlic knots were good but not very garlic. Ordered a meat lover pizza large. It was tasty. The crisp of the meat is something I love. Had a order of a cheeseburger sub which was good but meat was a little dry. There a true gem for Italian food in Woodbridge Virginia! I just can't get enough of their Saldas or Subs! Really good pizza place. I got a pepperoni slice and cheese slice. For me, the balance of sauce to cheese was off. All I tasted was cheese with almost no sauce. Also the dough seemed a little underdone. It didn't have that crispyness I was expecting. The reason I gave them a 4 instead of a 3 is because when I went in there was a sudden influx of orders and people and there only seemed to be one guy working on the orders (maybe they were in between shifts?) So the pizzas may have been a bit rushed. I would try them again but this time extra sauce maybe and well done pizza? The pepperoni was really good and cheese was good and fresh tasting as well.
