    Bar on a Saturday evening.

Very quiet for a Saturday evening. No one at the bar (it would seat 20+). Food was good, very good service. Place might even good for groups.

I was staying at the holiday Inn express across the parking lot from the small Mexican bar Grill so I decided to walk over and grab a bite... My waitress was extremely patient with me so I couldn't decide what I wanted and I chose the steak enchiladas.... The ambience was exactly what I expected from a local Hispanic location my waitress checked on me continuously and made sure I was comfortable. It was quite obvious that this was a local spot. It seemed like everyone knew everyone, but I did feel welcome from my waitress. Once the food came out, my rice was a little different from what I'm used to which threw me off. It was completely white rice with what looked like carrots and peas in it. Maybe that's how Spanish rice looks on the East Coast and I expected refried beans but they were not refried. Overall, it was a great experience so if you're in the area, definitely give this place a try and see if you like it! (the picture of my food didn't come out, unfortunately)

Shrimp Burrito - was tasty, rice and beans were plain.

I ordered take-out and the gentlemen taking my order was friendly and welcoming when I arrived. The item I like the best was shrimp burrito, was well seasoned and tasted good. Calamari didn't have any seasoned and the marinara sauce was very plain as well. Queso was also plain and wasn't that thick. Chips were just okay, salsa was plain. We also got a beef chimichanga and it was just okay.

The staff is awesome. My NY strip steak was average but the shrimp was amazing. Once, again the staff was very helpful.

Pleasant atmosphere: love the warmth feeling and how the table areas are set up. Greeted upon entrance, asked if I was getting a drink he sits margarita. Chips n salsa with water served first. Not a wide range of selections: but with enchiladas, burritos, chimichangas, tacos and fajitas all served with/3 protein choices not sure what else you need. There are 2 pages of drinks from wine, to cocktails, to beer and specialty. Food was not typical refried beans but all was delicious. Definitely will be back.

    No tequila house margaritas

Service is good, all 3 ladies were very attentive and welcoming. The music was authentic and welcoming. The house margarita is bland and had no flavor, they were nice enough to switch out the margaritas. The salsa tasted like tomato sauce. The pork pupusa was a disappointment. The slaw had no flavor or traces of any vinegar, the dipping sauce was bland as well. The place has a great atmosphere but unfortunately I wouldn't come for the food or drinks.

    NOT homemade! Horrible
    Cyndi A.

They definitely missed the mark! Their chips were stale and the salsa is far from homemade or authentic. So disappointing because I love Mexican food when it's done well. This gives other 'great' Mexican restaurants a bad name. These other reviewers must be clueless on what Mexican food should taste like. I'll add pictures cause the presentation was good but the taste was off big time. Please take time making your entrees. Take pride in your place of business. I wish VA could get a truly amazing Mexican restaurant.

    Margherita and chips

This is a tough rating. The service was great and attentive. They were focused and ready to serve! I appreciate that. Thanks! The first margarita, which was the house, was watery and without flavor. It was quickly changed out for a frozen one, which was better but still not great. The ambiance was a simple Mexican bar and clean. The music was solid, upbeat Mexican. I enjoyed the pupusa.

    Sopa de mariscos (seafood soup)

What a great surprise! I was staying next-door at a Holiday Inn Express and was hungry, so I walked across the parking lot. At the front desk, they said this place was good, and Yelp had good reviews, but I wasn't expecting a place THAT good! The food is very authentic. It's not quesadillas and fajitas. They have a lot of great seafood choices, making it hard to choose. A Yelp photo of a fried whole red snapper is what hooked me to go there, but I ended up getting the Sopa de Mariscos after the waitress highly recommended it. She was right! This soup was absolutely delicious! The broth was buttery and flavorful. All the seafood was cooked perfectly. There were huge, plump, juicy scallops; moist, jumbo shrimp, and tender calamari, as well as plentiful mussels. It was an absolutely spectacular dish, and for $24, with four scallops that large, I thought it was surprisingly under priced.

Naty's Mexican Bar & Grill is a very good find. The esthetics of the restaurant is ok. The seating area is in a medium sized room with enough spacing between tables to sit, but not to have privacy for any discussions at your table. There are no booths. Most of the tables are 4-tops with 2-tops around the side of the room. The wait staff was quick to seat, bring water and chips and ready to take your order. They checked back to my table when I wasn't ready to order without being annoying. Professional and courteous describes the guy and gal working when I went around 7:00 pm on a weekday evening. The menu options have something for most people. I had the NY strip with shrimp. I asked for an adjustment to the sides that came with the normal plating. The waiter took the order without complaining and the food came out plated correctly. The food flavor was good. The quality of cut of steak was a downside. The size and flavor was good, but the cut had too much connective tissue to be a very good cut. The temperature was warm, but not hot. Not cool enough to send back, but not as hot as I want for my steak. The shrimp were good size and flavorful. Like the steak, the quality was not great. I don't know if it was the quality of the shrimp or if they were just over cooked. I think a bit of both. I did not have alcohol so I can't comment on their selection or quality. I did notice several tables were enjoying glasses and I didn't hear any complaints. I recommend Naty's Mexican Bar & Grill. I'll return and try their fajitas trio.

Conflicting menu the item says rice and beans and above it says rice and vegetables. Most people will pay attention to the item itself.

Curiously, El Paso was playing music on the sidewalk, but the music was of some pop strain and definitely not Mexican. For such a hectic evening, service inside was surprisingly good. This was our third visit here. We swore we wouldn't come back after the last time here when our expensive and tiny tequila shots came in shot glasses where the bottom of the glass was halfway to the top of the glass. But hey, who were we to turn down a free Cinco De Mayo dinner? So back here we were. Somebody at our table mentioned that the El Pasos in the DMV were not all owned by a single person, that the brothers in the family had a falling out so these El Pasos have different owners now. That would explain why the El Paso next to Five Guys up on Richmond Highway has such different menus and service. Our favorite El Paso remains the location in Springfield. I went with the birria tacos. They were fat and tasty and came with a great dipping sauce. They also came with rice and beans on a separate plate. A kind of white queso fundido was ordered for the table to go with the brightly colored tortilla chips. This cheese sauce was more like gravy than a true queso fundido. Parking is tight but you will always find parking in back near other businesses.

I ate inside at a booth with friends on Easter Sunday. I ordered my usual Lengua Tacos with Mexican rice & sides of salsa & sour cream. The rice was good and the lengua meat was good & succulent or semi dry / not so juicy. I probably wouldn't order lengua here again but I would definitely try other food offered. I love the great deals for lunch menu specials. I ordered two takeouts of : 1. Two tamales with beans, queso, & rice ($11.99) 2. Lunch Chimichanga ( Fried burrito with choice of beef or chicken, topped with queso, lettuce, guacamole, sour cream and tomatoes. Served with a side of rice and beans - $12.00 These takeouts were full portions of food in large takeout containers - very happy . My husband scarfed down his takeout food in silence- a sign that the food was amazing. I ate the tamales with beans and rice later for a good dinner. Highly satisfied. There are always lines for bathroom . Only two stalls are available . Definitely need a larger bathroom. The decor in the restaurant were very colorful and made me smile. The seated dining booths were comfy. Very cheerful place and colors everywhere. Great place to sit down with family & friends.
