Would the AC crap out on us when it was 100 degrees and we were 200 miles away? TLDR: the RV was almost new. It was very clean and everything worked great. Would 100% rent from these guys again and will recommend them to others. A lot of others mention cleaning & deposite. We did what I would personally consider the bare minimum: wiped down kitchen, stove & table surfaces. Emptied garbage. Swept the main living space (and were shoes-outside while at camp). We got our whole deposit back & no cleaning charges. As instructed, we called and made a pick-up appointment. This time is theoretical and you will wait in line anyway (basically like any car dealership) so, if you can, make it as early in the day as possible. But after about a 1 hour wait we were on or way. The Forestriver Sunseeker we were assigned was in nearly new condition. It featured a queen sized bed with regular mattress and a little privacy screen. A very small bathroom. A dinette that could maybe squeeze more than 4. The dinette convers to a bed and there is also another sleeping area over the cab. There is TONS of storage space under the RV and some inside. The freezer is big enough for a bag of ice + a few other things. The fridge is probably 3/4 scale to a smaller full-size fridge. Kitchen area is tiny but functional. I brought my own knife & cutting board and wish I'd brought a non-stick pan. The kitchen includes a 3 burner stove and a microwave sized convection/micro combo. The pop-out gives you a decent amount of additional floor space and there is also a roll-out awning. Yes! The comfort kit we got included a decent set up of pots/pans/cooking utensils and dishes. The grey water tank (more on this in a sec) is not huge so if you plan to use the regular plates/dishes I'd bring a wash basin so you can wash up without using the grey tank. Otherwise, you may want to bring paper. Your RV comes with a full water tank. Note that this is technically potable water but not recommended for drinking. They didn't tell us this but important to be aware of. We were a little caught off guard by how quickly we went through water. We were only able to make our water tank and black/grey tanks last for our 4 night camping excursion (for two adults) by using campground porta-potties and showers and being really conservative with dish-washing, etc. So, this is something to plan around and we weren't aware of. NOT Road Bear's problem but just something to know.

We booked a 25-27 Class C RV, arrived for pick up on time, they conducted a walk through (very useful but please watch the video they send prior to understand all functionalities) completed paper work and we hit the road. Return was super smooth they did a quick check, we left the rv really clean so no additional charges were applied other than propane gas(we were lazy so chose not to fill it ourselves) and extra miles we drove for (which is expected).. The RV was very comfortable for 4 adults and 2kids, the kitchenette very handy comes with pots pans glass ware etc. the bed was comfortable, tables big enough, awning wide enough to setup a table outside and enjoy the surroundings even in bad weather. All in all I will highly recommend renting from this RV rental store.

There's plenty of other RV dealerships that will take ownership and responsibility of their mistakes. I spent $80,000 for a warranty in a van and I'm getting nothing for it. It's a broken van that I bought.

I am revising to clarify my original 2 star rating after a question about our experience. We are in a 45 ft 2015 RV towing a vehicle. The gal at check in sent us up to a close area where we never should have been for our size. We then called the desk and they sent people to help us get back out of the area and brought us down to the lake where there was one spot left and was sufficient. Point is that we were lucky not to damage property and someone should have known better at the desk. I will give the park a 5+ star rating for being great for smaller campers, tents, kids, etc. Clean and obviously the owners care about their park. Educate the desk employees. If we had agreed to the spot we were first sent to, the neighbors' fire pit would have been burning under one of our slide outs. Impossible situation. A great spot for families in smaller accommodations or tents.

The rv was a slightly older model (our choice as it was less expensive). Regardless, it ran flawlessly up and back. I had questions and my calls to "Bob" were answered quickly and he did a good job making us feel relaxed and worry free. Now for the cons. Although few, here they are. 1) and most important, cleanliness. Exterior very clean, interior, not so much. Rug appeared to have never been shampooed, floors were not mopped. Although everything was wiped down, inside the storage cabinets were filthy, and this is where we are supposed to store our food? 2) the unit we rented boasted 3 cable ready tv's. Well, arrived at the campsite, started to rain so we figured, good time to try the televisions. None worked. I had the campsite employees check the signal coming in to the RV and it proved to be working perfectly. I even swapped out the provided cable wire with my own much better quality cable wire. After repeated calls to Bob and even with his prompt responses, the final answer was "it's never happened before". Although very apologetic, there was nothing he could do. It really wasn't the end of the world for us but beware families with teenagers as it will be a miserable trip for all. Next time we'll check before we leave. 3) this one isn't a con but mostly just bringing it up. To the owners of Freedom Rentals, why wouldn't you post your contract on the website? After providing you the required down payment wasn't the time to find out there was a substantial contract we had to sign. After thoroughly reading your contract, it's clear you must of been burned several times, but, we signed knowing that we would lose some of our deposit had we not. A tad odd? And finally, Upon returning the RV, on time I might add and much cleaner as well, (did I mention if we were late it would be a $25 charge?). Did I mention a similar charge if we were LATE to pick up the RV? Really? Maybe it's me, but no one asked us how the trip went, how the RV ran, if everything worked okay, nothing. Three days later we got our deposit back but still no phone calls, explanation about the televisions, nothing. Not even a survey. Being this is the first review on yelp, it's unlikely they will read this ....but maybe. Would we rent again., sure, now that we know all the rules. Will try the group in Harrisburg next just so we can compare. Very friendly group, Bob was the best, just a little strange business practices. I mistakenly stated that our vehicle met those requirements because we had pulled a boat in the past. When I attempted to clarify this instead of being helpful and try and explain it further the sales person said why did you say you had it when you did not? Called me a liar. Let me tell you, I would drive to DC before I rented anything from this place. I cannot even imagine how a customer would be treated if there was an issue with their products if this is how they treat you during a simple rental inquiry.

On April 21 while packing basement fell on previous tenants property, hit my head and back on a work bench, not ours. Needed to be taken to ER for staples in the back of my head. Only spoke with his son and receptionist. Mr. Ziegler finally returned from Florida last month. Was told we would get our deposit back. We were never late except the last month. He started working with a management company, did not even know they existed. We dealt solely with Mr. Ziegler. He kept our security and added another 600 dollars. Saying we ruined an already stained rug about 15 years old, left garbage was previous tenants, and broken window. This management company came two months after we moved out. Of course the place was dusty. They window was actually the cover of a ceiling light and plastic from when after 4 years he fixed the leaking roof and the plastic fell out of the light fixture with the water coming down. I have left messages no response for over two months to get this news. These people he hired to over see his properties had never once been in the apartment until this time. They didn't even know who I was. Mark my advice don't do business with him.

I got over the contract and overnighting cash payment, but I can not get over the hidden charge. I will not go back.
