    Fabulous French Press
    Phuong C.

This beautiful Mexican restaurant in the heart of Georgetown is a gem! And I'm so glad it exists. From the outside it's giving authentic and seclusion vibes with its high walls, metal gates, cacti, and flowering bushes. Once inside it felt grand as it is open, has many windows, is light, and has high ceilings, a patio outside seating area around a fountain, booths and bustling restaurant vibes inside, and then all the way in the back is this beautiful patio deck overlooking the San Gabriel River. A friend enjoyed an amazing Margarita drink earlier and here we were to meet for brunch. It's only 10:00 am. And there were many people lined up outside. And we have learned why. Their brunch AND presentation were fantastic! Quite the experience and tastes! The coffee presentation deserves all the hats off. It's extra. It's perfect. It's how a Sunday morning should start. French press, a dish of fresh (slightly whipped cream), a tad of syrup. The French Press was good for 3 cups, per person! This mama is a happy one now. We received excellent service from Greg. Who recommended the dishes that sounded all tasty. But after all the chips and dips starters that filled up quite a bit and slowed down the intake of the too much entree. Have I mentioned the amazing guacamole?! Fresh! Different! Superb! It had chucks of pear in it for a fresh and lightly sweet crunch, and topped off with roasted pepitas and crumbled cheese. And with clearly in home made salsas these were all so perfect to dip in and start off. The bowl with rice, black beans, potato, bacon, an egg had the most flavorful sauces and crema topped with, and was so wholesome. This was truly an all star experience for me, and I'm definitely coming back for more.

4 stars for the building, ambiance, outdoor seating area, and general vibes. Very cool place to come relax and catch up with friends or grab a drink or just have dinner. Great place to come after a day on the water too. The staff was super nice, friendly and helpful. The food was 50/50. You do have to pay for chips and salsa. But it is unlimited and they bring 2 big bowls of 2 different salsas. Both very good and not too spicy. The green salsa was really food. I got the chicken flameado with chicken as a meal as I do a lot of place, but this truly is an app only. I would say there was no more than 3 oz of chicken max in the cheese and the cheese was just covering the bottom. Not much in it at all. If you want a lighter portion of food, this would be good for that. My partner got the special scopes plate. It was good. A little spicy just fyi. It does come with jalapeños on top if you have an allergy like he does. All in all it was good.

What a fabulous restaurant! Every little architectural detail has been thought of so this building will really impress you. Some of the coolest things are the clerestory lighting and another really cool thing is the overhang on the back deck has light coming down from above also. I think the architecture is the coolest part of the experience but the food is amazing too. It is basically upper end Mexican food and the service is really good. Everything on the menu is cooked to perfection and you won't be disappointed!

One of my favorite things about El Monumento is how trendy it is! The vibes are fun and happening. Of course the food is great too and I have never been disappointed. I usually order enchiladas. The service staff are friendly but you may have to wait some time as it can get pretty busy.

My favorite restaurant in Georgetown! I cannot get over the beautiful space. It's built like a mansion with a courtyard, a side room for the bar and the main dining area so it feels like you're dining at someone's (gigantic) home complete with a gorgeous view of the river and lush greenery. Their sopaipillas are delicious. Little flat cinnamon sugar covered fried dough. Traditionally it comes with honey but ask for the chocolate sauce which is dark and decadent. Pairs better than the honey.

I've been here a few times in the last 2 years, honestly it was mid. Redemption is sweet fo real tho. This time it was bussin fo real. Fast, and quick and so tasty I straight up couldn't handle it! Highly recommend their quesadilla and queso I had to praise Jesus after this meal. God set me free and this queso was my sanctification.

Loved this place! The margaritas were good, salsa was amazing, and tacos were so so good. Also loved the atmosphere, there's a super beautiful view on the patio.

Good Mexican food should not be hard to find in Texas, good drinks should not be hard to find anywhere, good service is hard to find as people are demanding better work environment as well as pay. Good for us El Monumento seems to be able to provide all of the above, good Mexican food, good drinks and good service. They do this in a beautifully done restaurant and for a reasonable price. We will be back and we will recommend to our friends and family. Good Job El Monumento!

My wife and I really like this venue and location, but the last couple times we went the experience was not great, and adter this last one we will not be back I don't think. We sat outside, (great patio with a view of the San Gabriel), and had the queso as a starter. Their chips and salsas are really good. The service was really slow and our waiter seemed to busy flirting with the hostess. When we finally got our margaritas they were decent, just they are in a small glass with ice and at $12-$14 each we only had one apiece. The fajitas we got were overcooked, but the charro beans were good, as was the grilled jalapeños. We both woke up today with upset stomachs, which has never happened before. Migjt be coincidental to be fair, but think we're done here.

    Undercooked rice.

I have no idea how a place with such a beautiful building and cool vibe can be so BAD. Some of the worst food I've been served anywhere. Poorly seasoned fajitas, no char on the peppers and onions, inedible sides of rice (cold and undercooked), beans ok, street corn nasty. And the worst part? The cold, bagged, grocery store tortillas. The waiter never asked if things were ok, probably because they usually aren't. I still just can't believe how bad this food was for the price.

I wish the food matched the ambiance of the restaurant. An absolutely beautiful venue with a stellar porch out back. The food itself was mediocre and lacked flavor. Nothing was bad however nothing was that great either. There are better places in Georgetown's square to eat at than El Monumento.

El Monumento has delicious Mexican food. I hadn't been in a bit but was glad I went. I just kept eating the queso and got the pork street tacos which were just what I was wanting. I wasn't craving Tex-Mex so this was perfect. The frozen margarita wasn't really frozen and was only a mediocre margarita this time.

My husband and I are already interested after one visit in checking out pricing for possibly renting out the space for an event of our own. It has a very classy, purposefully dated look but was extremely cleaned and well maintained. They also have free guest Wi-Fi. The cocktails are a little pricey for the area, but the venue space and the quality of the drinks were well worth the price. They actually have a quite expansive menu of drink options as well. Definitely needs more seating options for the drink window area if they plan on having more open hours days for people to randomly come in and enjoy a specially crafted drink. I can't wait to see what this place turns into!

The ham and eggs Benedict was borderline flavorless and the egg white was cold and runny. I love a good poached egg, but it was more liquid than poached. The tequila sunrise was musky and the flavor of the tequila overwhelmed the rest of the drink. I really wanted to like this place! However, I spent $35 on a pretty pitiful brunch meal. The restaurant seating area and decor were all nice. The bathroom had no music and is small and cramped (you can't get paper towels without either blocking the door or a stall).
