I just want to give a huge thank you to the staff at El Nopal. After coming from a graduation party, I walked in at 9:00 PM and asked for a table for 15. They close at 10:00 PM, and our group didn't even arrive until 10:15 PM due to traffic. Did they turn us away? Not at all. The staff welcomed us with patience and kindness, and the service was just as amazing as the food. Speaking of which--everything was delicious, shockingly affordable, and the portions were massive. Their menu is huge--I don't think a single Mexican dish was missing, and they even offer a la carte items. Even with such a large, late order, there were only two small mistakes, which is impressive. I wouldn't fault them at all. We didn't leave until almost 11:30, and even then, the staff was still smiling, saying thank you, come again, and just radiating hospitality. You could tell they truly care about their work and the restaurant. And let me mention how clean the place was--like, oddly clean. I saw a staff member cleaning each individual blind and then moving on to the windows. I've never seen that kind of detailed cleaning at closing time in any restaurant. Bonus: the artwork inside is vibrant and beautiful, adding even more charm to the experience. This was five-star service from start to finish. I'll absolutely be back. read more

All I can say is for the last 10 years, El Nopal has delivered the best food. They are attentive, the food is great, everything about it is superb! We visited El Nopal with a large party and overall had a great experience. The food was delicious and the service was friendly. Our waitress, Gia, was very sweet and handled our big group as best as she could. She did seem a little overwhelmed at times, but she stayed kind and attentive throughout. We totally understood that with a large group, food might come out at different times. However, my mom received her burrito last and unfortunately, it was cold all the way through. From the inside out. She said it tasted great, but it was too cold to eat, and she didn't want to send it back, so she ended up heating it up back at our hotel. I gave her one of my tacos just so she could have something warm at the table. Despite that hiccup, the rest of us enjoyed our meals and appreciated the overall atmosphere and service. Amara, our server, was friendly, efficient, and attentive. We were seated quickly on a very busy Tuesday evening. My husband enjoyed his $7 dollar 20 ounce margarita. Our meals were served quickly and arrived piping hot. My husband loved his Pollo de creama. I liked my Pollo loco but didn't over the chicken. I think it was a.but overcooked. Took family of 10 to lunch today and everyone really liked their food. Service was good for a large group. They kept the chips and salsa full while we were waiting and everything came out just right. Most of the kids got shrimp and they really liked it. It looked good. I stole some pico off of the kids plate and it was great. Burrito and enchilada I had were both very. We had a great lunch at El Nopal. Two at our table ordered the Juan's Tacos plate and really enjoyed them. They came garnished with a grilled jalapeño and grilled mini onions, which was a nice touch. The beans that came with the platter were an undesirable color, and didn't have much flavor. The third person at our table ordered a steak fajita quesadilla and he really liked it. I ordered a shrimp taco and a carnitas taco. The shrimp taco was good - perfectly cooked. The carnitas were WAY dried out and chewy. Overpriced, overcooked greasy chips. I I'm always honest and the App asked me how I remembered this place. Maybe they should remove that. ? It was so bad I remember it like it was yesterday!!!! I ordered a burrito and thought to myself " why did I come here?" Salsa was bland , the chips were actually greasy ( that takes a special level of " I don't care" ! ) I can make better at home for half the price. My wife ordered a margarita that when she got it was basically watery but $7 . I understand it's a bottom shelf drink but it should have some flavor, some kind of bite . At least a limeish bite but no , i want to describe it as was like a Italian ice but that has more flavor! The idea of going out is to be served. I waited for service long enough to realize I was waiting????? Seriously ? And we were one of 3 tables . Then cold greasy chips and basically tomato purée as salsa with no offerings on the side to spice it up ??? Really?? But it's Mexican? Boom , then comes a very underwhelming burrito . It was so bad that yes it's been over a year since I actually went there and I remember !!!!! No flavor even though I emptied a ramekin of salsa over it. The burrito was just unflavored ground beef . Las t night my my wife and I ate at the Cartersville location. The only thing worse than the food was the service. We were served by a young boy who had no idea of what he was doing. Later found out from the manager that he had worked there for 3 months. He ran up to the table said something and kept running away immediately without finding out what we needed. Finally had to ask for the manager, who ended up getting our order. When the Burrito special arrived, it was very small chicken burrito covered in a pile of lettuce, with some flaky cheese piled on the end of it. Tasted like hot lettuce, no flavor at all. Avoid avoid avoid! This was easily one of my worst Mexican restaurant experiences. I ordered a combo with a chile relleno and an enchillada. The enchillada's filling was tasteless and its watery sauce didn't help much either. The chile relleno was unrecognizable. It was a pile of ground seasoned meat with what tasted like American cheese melted over the top. There was no sign of a chile pepper to be seen...until I dug through the mound and found a lonely piece of chile pepper hiding like the baby in a king cake. On the good side was their chunky guac which was fresh and tasty. Btw, no, I really don't want your cheese sauce dip, not as an app, not smothering my food. Food is half decent, the service, however, is less than that. I've heard people having good experiences with the place but I haven't seen it so far. The times I'm forced to go, I usually order a plain food (chicken fingers or a small hamburger) because anything else takes so long it isn't worth trying. We have tried this place 6 times and only had one good experience. For starters the service is very poor. We sat down and it took 15 minutes before we were acknowledged. Once our beverage order was taken it took another 15 minutes for them to arrive. We then placed an order for the basic cheese dip but it never arrived. We had to beg for chips and salsa repeatedly without success. My daughter and I ordered the El Nopal special which is chicken, shrimp over rice with cheese dip. The chicken had no taste by the Shrimp had a terrible fishy taste and was rubbery. We asked the server to see a manager, but one never came. We told the server of our issues and there was nothing he could do. My wife's dish was a chicken and chorizo combination that was bland and missed the cheese dip. In fairness to this restaurant I did wait 6 times to review as everyone has an off day. This place is just off. We will not go back. read more

This Mexican restaurant is amazing they do offer delicious food and they do give deserts the coke is good and a very kind of a romantic place but same time it is noisy and if it is ur bday they celebrate it with u and sing the bday song u can ask them that u want a cake and they will make it for u and it is free but only to the people that have bdays which I have been there I ... would I go back? I went to El Nopal last night for dinner around 6:00 pm. I got an older gentleman as a waiter he was very in attentive. I had to ask the bus girl for more chips and salsa as we watched the waiter sitting down with a man on his laptop at one of the bar tables. He looked like the manager. I ordered the fajitas nopal. When they came out you could tell it was food that was already cooked and just reheated. Super dry and burnt marks on everything. The person I was with got the grilled tilapia fish tacos. They were a joke also. Fish in a tortilla that was it no cilantro or onions or anything on them. I could have done that at home for a third of the cost. Very disappointed in this place. Good chips and and salsa. I ordered the carnitas and they were cooked very well. They had a "north of the border" section so the three year old in our party was able to get a hotdog and fries while others had more authentic Mexican fare. We usually have good experiences at this place, but have noticed the food gradually going downhill. Today was the worst however. We came in around 6, no dinner rush but there were several people eating. Got our chips and salsa, put in our order. Shrimp fajitas for two. The fajitas came out not even sizzling like normal, a gray/white translucent color. I instantly say I'm not eating those but it goes unheard and my husband took a bite and says it still tastes good. So I eat my rice and beans, which are not as good as usual for the beans but the rice is good. I didn't/wouldn't eat the shrimp. Our drinks weren't refilled in the 45 mins we sat there at the table.
