First and foremost this is a super cool vibe. I absolutely love the decor and atmosphere of the restaurant with its huge seating area, sizable main bar, covered patio (dog friendly) and huge rooftop patio with bar. Definitely set up for a god time. The service is excellent. Our server, Abbie, was a gem. Super friendly and prompt. She did an incredible job upselling us as well. Lol. We went in on a Monday evening and learned they do $5 house margaritas on Mondays. Something I can absolutely get down with! The margarita was solid, especially for the price. For an addition $3 you can add an extra shot which I did and it made it all the better, still at a great price at $8. Chips and salsa came out literally as we were sat. Extremely quick. The chips were fresh, hot, and crispy. They had a nice light salting on them. The salsa tasted fresh and was garnish with fresh cilantro which gave it a nice pop. The salsa itself was a little bland, however. Definitely not spicy at all which is fine but I would have preferred a little more spice. I ordered the Quesadilla Birra. It was plated beautifully with a side of consommé. Overall they were just okay. The meat was nicely cooked, tender but it was just bland. Consommé was the same, bland. I likely wouldn't order this dish again. My partner did the shrimp fajitas and they were fantastic. The shrimp were nicely seasoned and cooked to perfection. I have to admit, every time I go to Huey Luey's, it's a great experience. The food is always on point. The prices are reasonable and the service is great. Always, from the time you enter the Acworth location, you genuinely feel welcome. I want to call out my Server, this evening. Caselyn was absolutely fantastic. Drove by Huey Luey's the other night and their Christmas decor was brilliant and eye catching. Decided to go there Sunday morning for brunch and check out the vibe. What a fun place for a meal. On Sunday, the entire inside and outside was decorated for the holidays with lights on everything that would stand still. The staff was having a pajama party which included fun pajamas, and ugly Christmas sweaters. They have a brunch menu that includes all you can eat pancakes or Mexican breakfast enchiladas among other things. Their margaritas are delicious, my favorite being the pomegranate margarita. The birrea quesadillas are not to be missed and you must try the queso with chorizo in it. So good. Definitely a place I will frequent more often. read more

Have been three times at this location. I do have to say the quality of food and service has been different each time. Not sure how each time is going to go. The last time I went was when they had a pop-up bar and that was a great experience. They had a DJ and everything was decorated with Halloween decor. I've had lunch and dinner at that Huey Luey's several times, always with pretty good Americanized Mexican food and good service. Today, my wife and I had brunch there. I knew that the brunch menu was pretty limited, so that was not a surprise, plus one can also order off the regular menu. I ordered a brunch skillet, which consisted mainly of roasted potatoes, in a small square skillet along with a large thimble of fresh fruit. It all tasted fine. My issue was with our server, Carrie, who, by company policy has to place a Commitment card with her name on it, on the table (see photo). When she first asked what we would like to drink, my wife said water with lemon, and I said "the same for me". My wife got what she asked for, and I got water with no lemon. I did not mention that to Carrie. We were given two lunch menus, but only one brunch menu. While my wife was studying it, Carrie came by to ask if we were ready to order. I asked if I could have a brunch menu. Carrie said that we already had one, and then asked if I wanted another, which is exactly what I had just asked for. As soon as our food was placed on the table, Carrie asked how everything was. She could see that we had not taken even bite, so I said that it had just been set down, and she left. She never came back to the table after that except to bring the check, never again asking if everything was OK. While she did walk past our table several times and actually looked at my empty coffee cup, she never offered a refill. Eventually, once we had finished eating, a manager came by and asked how everything was. I let him know how it went and suggested that Carrie needs some training. He asked what he could do to make it right, and I said that another cup of coffee would help. Five minutes later he told me that they were brewing some, so I just asked for the check. Carrie then brought it, acting like all was well. She was oblivious as to the situation and the reaction customers may have when treated like that. I'll go back for lunch or dinner because management does try to please their customers, though in this case, it was too late to make a difference. Sure, I could have flagged Carrie down to get another cup of coffee (what comes next, brew my own)?. To almost refuse to give me a menu because we already had one, and to never ask how the food was once we had a chance to taste it, along with no coffee refill offer, was too much. Hence this review. I will add that they have the best taco salad I've ever had. It is in a very large Tex -Mex style tortilla, loaded with nicely seasoned ground beef or salsa chicken and lots of condiments. read more

We had a large group and the location on Cobb Parkway has really good seating for large crowds. Plus a rooftop bar. Lots of natural light comes through the restaurant itself, and the overview of Cobb Parkway on the rooftop is really cool. My food recommendations are the fajitas, the burritos, and the pork tacos. I haven't been to this location for a few years since they tried to serve me a Mahi Mahi taco and tried scamming me with Tilapia. Folks we can taste the difference. I went with a group. Server was ok. I ordered the Fiesta Bowl with Shrimp. It was delicious! Could have given more veggies for $17.00 just saying. Another ordered the Taco salad. The presentation was fun and different loved it. Whomever you have in the kitchen now is making a big difference. Keep him/her. First and foremost, the biggest issue was immediately when you walk into the restaurant towards the hostess stand it has a very overwhelming musty vomit smell. It hits you in your face when you walk into. It is that bad. They literally need to deep clean or have a professional company come in and fix it. Small kick but so delicious & made with fresh pineapple juice. Our server Constance was outstanding - super friendly, welcoming (this was our first visit) and very attentive. She was helpful with our menu questions and very patient with our children. Clean restaurant and friendly staff. We dined in during a busy Saturday afternoon and we were seated right away. Hmmmm, this is the second time I've seen a Huey Luey's and decided maybe to try them out. I was out with my gf shopping off Cobb Pkwy and we were both hangry AF. Cool vibe from the outside grabbed my attention. Inside has some decent atmosphere to it. We got seated right away in a booth, with chips and salsa brought to us. I think they were short staffed on this day, since the guy that seated us also got our drinks, food order and cheese dip. No worries there since all aspects of service were fluid. Our main server finally came around and did a great job! The chips, salsa and cheese dip were ok. Salsa was fairly hot, which I enjoyed, and I liked the flour tortillas they brought for the cheese dip. Reminded me of an old school restaurant chain I used to eat at beside they went out of business (it's slipping my mind). I opted for something different and did taco wraps. Honestly, nothing unique. Just two tacos wrapped up in almost burrito fashion. Reminded me of a gyro. I was hungry so downed them, but nothing about it stuck out to me. My beans had pork in them so had to give that to the gf, and my rice was ok. I did like the teamwork of the wait staff here (and the name card they place down), although she missed taking off my cheese dip with Yelp check in. Ok seems to be the mantra for my visit here. Unique and everything looks good my family and I have gone there a few times and it was good but then one night we went there and it was fine. That night my brother threw up multiple times the next night I did too. Yesterday my parents went out to eat my mom insisted they go to Huey Lueys because she loves their food. This is casual, relatively fast and fun dining at its best. I don't usually review chain type restaurants, but I find this one deserving. My food is always tasty and fresh, and the service is always friendly & attentive. There's usually sport on the TVs, and I love the margaritas! My favorite meals are either the 2 tacos served w/ a side or a fiesta bowl. Both come with different proteins. My favorite tacos are the coconut shrimp and fish, but they also have brisket, chicken, etc. My favorite fiesta bowl is salsa chicken. Yum! This time my husband got his salad but the chicken wasn't in the bag and my salmon was over seasoned with a burnt orange colored sauce. I've been eating at Huey's for about 2 years, but this is my very first visit to this location. My first thought upon entering is It needed an updated look . It was gloomy inside . The dining area was ok in terms of cleanliness. I noticed the waitresses were clearing up tables in a reasonable time. Although I walked in with the host as she kicked napkins around from the traffic areas of the floor as she seated me.‍ Everyone's human but I just hate seeing this stuff as I'm about to dine . My waitress was so sweet and she was attentive. She smiled and joked around with me . She was relaxed and seemed genuine . My usual chicken chimichanga was great and the guacamole was fresh . This is a plus ! If the guacamole isn't good it's a deal breaker for me . However sadly I can't say the rice was good . I didn't finish it. It didn't taste fresh. Actually it tasted stale and reheated from the day before. Yuk! My regular margarita was delicious It was perfect and nothing off about it. Therefore I can't add much more about it. Friday night 8:00, 20 minute wait, no problem for us, you cant expect to not have a wait on a Friday night. The food and service was really good, and the atmosphere was fun. I wish i had done my review like the next day, because the only thing i do remember is the pineapple margarita, which was INCREDIBLE.
