    chimichangas!

Went last night - outstanding food & service (as always). This has become a favorite for me - walkable around New Brunswick (10 min walk from trains station, 10 min walk from downtown). There is parking, but it is minimal. Menu is in Spanish & English - staff speaks minimal English so being able to communicate in Spanish is helpful! I always get the chimichangas!!!

One of my go-to spots in New Brunswick for real deal Mexican food. I've been coming here for over 10 years and they never disappoint Yes it can get a bit crowded at times but the vibes and authenticity is unmatched ! They are usually open until 3am so you can always get your late night cravings with them..! Torta combinada is my personal favorite creation.

Hands down the best Mexican food this side of the Raritan. Highly recommend you come in here for the beef tongue tacos and the taco arebas. If you're feeling tamales they have the best flavors, you can get Molé, verde or chili and all of them are great. The price is super affordable and you'll have no problem getting the most value for your dollar here. This place is a must try.

El Oaxaqueño is always busy but still provides fast service and a clean environment. There's seating inside and they also offer quick take out. There's no parking and is located at a weird intersection so you might have to go around for a bit if you're driving here. The all the meat is flavorful and the tortillas taste great. The tacos come with cilantro, lime, jalapeños, and onions. The meal also came with chips and salsa, salsa verde and another sauce that I do not know the name of. These were about $3 per taco and is still completely worth it. I ordered an horchata too which wasn't the best I've had due to this one having a more watery taste but it still is good.

I ordered over Doordash and had high expectations however, when I received my order, the tostadas were cold --mind you it's a 3 minute drive. (I don't have a car and would otherwise have to walk 16 minutes to pick up my order and New Brunswick is not safe to walk at night.) When I took my tacos out from the takeout bag, pieces of meat and onion were coming out from the sides and got everywhere. The cooks could have secured the tacos a better way, like individually wrapping them in tin foil or packing them in a takeout container instead. The fillings of the tacos were even coming out everywhere within the tin foil and you couldn't differentiate which meat was which. Flavor-wise, I did enjoy the food but believe there could be improvement in terms of how the tacos are packaged. Otherwise, everything was great! The food came out fast and was flavorful!

Fresh tostadas con carne, cabeza and lengua (aka beef bits) tacos, tripe soup, at El Oaxacano 2. Friendly staff. Super sized portions. High quality food.

    Superb tortas.

I've been here a few times now and can say with certainty that this is one of the best authentic Mexican restaurants in the area. The place is rather small and has only 1 dining room that's shaped like a long rectangle, where the path from the door to the back is dotted with small tables, even though they will gladly try to rearrange the tables to accommodate larger parties (to whatever extent is physically possible). This place is usually crowded during dinner time, especially during lunch on weekends. The food is authentic, and having the kitchen right next to the tables just infuse your nostrils (and clothes, etc. :-) with the aroma of a familial Mexican restaurant. Sometimes there are peddlers who drop by and offer flowers, music, or DVDs -- which I absolutely don't mind at all and actually adds richness to the atmosphere. The food never disappoints, from the fantastic chile relleno to the crunchy flautas and even basic fares such as their tortas and tacos stand above the rest. Their mole is exquisitely made, and I love the onion bulbs that come with most of the dishes, which come in generous portions. The manager and servers are very friendly and quick with your requests. Parking could be a bit tricky since they have a small parking lot adjacent to the restaurant with cars parked at an angle, or you would have to make do with street parking. This is surely a highly recommended place to go if you want a reliable Mexican taste while you're in town!

Best hole in the wall Mexican food. You can't beat the quality and price. Any time I'm in town I always try to stop by.

This is a rinky dink kinda restaurant but the ambience is authentic and the staff is hard-working. A lot of options for meat courses and your not so typical Mexican dishes. I enjoyed the complimentary salsas with chips. The guacamole is a good price and well done (you can always add extra salt and lime juice at the table). Salsa verde was delicious. I got a shrimp taco and it was simple but delicious. My boyfriend wanted queso but they don't have any so they brought a plate of pan seared cheese which was dope. My vegetarian burrito was beautiful! I wish the rice was more fresh and flavorful but presentation and size compensated. My boyfriend got bistec con queso y crema and it looked dank. Melted cheese on a thin crispy steak with plenty of tortillas on the side. The large portion of any agua fresca or horchata comes in this 32oz (?) Tupperware container good place for a quick, closer to authentic Mexican home cooking food.

First, staff is super -super nice!! helpful when trying to decide what to order. Mini Me and I both chose three tacos carne asada with the smokey roja sauce. Hubby had the same but as a burrito. For the sides we had chips and guacamole and the Mexican street corn. Drink were Horchata (Obviously). Tacos and burrito were stuffed, and absolutely delish. They have a self serve salsa bar with the three salsa, the smokey roja, salsa verde and habanero. Let me just say I tried all three- fantastic heat to flavour ration and I poured the habanero on my tacos so good! in fact the smokey roja with the salsa verde is a great combination !! Seating area outside is much larger than inside, we sat inside at a table that had just become available- they do a super brisk take out business and we didn't wait very long for our food to be ready. In fact, my husband and Mini-Me - all three of us, agreed we would for sure make the drive again to have tacos here!! If you are in the area or at school near by- you have to come here at least once, to try the food. I paid for my hubby since he was not my +1 and his meal was about $16. so that in itself is very very reasonable for the amount of food you get. We were very pleased with the food, service and price point.

Parking is New Brunswick parking, if you've parked in New Brunswick you know it to expect. There were a few tables downstairs, and there was a stairwell upstairs that I never ventured up. The few times I visited here I've always found first four seating and never felt the need to see what was up the stairs. The tacos came out a little while after ordering and they looked really good. I think this was my first time consciously trying Iberia tacos and they were very good. I might not be the best person to judge this is I've never had other ones. I understand places get busy but management at FC has to be really clueless when it comes to "switching on" the availability on those platforms. Every time I call to ask if they deliver, I usually get a sarcastic response like yea duh of course we do but again staff is totally clueless that they haven't made themselves available on the platform. I wonder how much these guys are losing on deliveries or maybe this is a subtle hint that they don't want to deal with it because they're taking a loss on Postmates, Uber Eats, and Doordash. I can't be the only one experiencing this. To management: if you guys don't want to deal with these delivery services, cancel them and stop misleading people that you deliver. If you decide to keep them, talk to your account manager at said platforms and educate yourselves and your staff on how to use them so you can be more profitable in the delivery space. It's tough out there and it would be a shame if you guys lose business and the other Mexican spot in the neighborhood closes you out because they have staff that stays on top of operations. I'm done trying to give this place business and reminding them to update their availability.
