To begin the kitchen is dirty and they don't care if the cooks cough on ur food (norovirus, coronavirus, and how the hanta virus). The food in the fridge has been out days if not weeks. Furthermore they are unsupportive of the Mexican community. They refuse to pay their workers a livable wage and are classiest people even tho their resturant already gets no customers. This is a cute, little family-owned Mexican restaurant that is easy to overlook. The decor is bright and colorful and tables have a little cactus that produce fun vibes. The staff was very friendly, though a bit slow with bringing the check despite there only being 3 people to attend to. I was also disappointed that they did not have Watermelon Aqua Fresca available despite it being on the menu. Despite that, I really enjoyed both the chips/salsa and the Carne Asada Tacos. Depending on what you're used to, $9.00 for 3 tacos may be a bit pricey. The serving size was enough for just me and I was perfectly satiated by it. There was plenty of meat in the tacos and the cilantro did not overpower the tacos, but instead boosted the flavor. The beef was dry but I used the lime and the salsa verde from the chips to combat this. The chips and salsa are free with what you order, and I thought the chips were similar to any other chips you get from a Mexican restaurant. However, I am a huge fan of the salsa verde, which is why I used that for my tacos as well. It had enough spice to make my nose run, but there was plenty of sweet flavor to balance it out. The saltiness of the chips complimented this salsa well. Overall, I cannot wait to return here and try more of the many items they have! read more

We have driven past this place many times. With so many restaurants closed on Memorial Day. We decided to give this place a try. It's on a busy Rt.1 highway. One of the reasons why we never stopped. As soon as you walk in, you immediately smell the food cooking on the side of the restaurant where the slightly open kitchen is. What better way to look through the menu then to smell what's cooking at the same time. Here is what we ordered: - Watermelon Drink (so good & refreshing) - Chicken in Mexican Style - Steak in Green Sauce - Whole Fish w/Seafood Mix on Mexican Sauce I posted the pics before writing this review and got an overwhelming response on the pic of the fish. Yes, it's as delicious as it looks. It was grilled to perfection and super tasty. My son even ate the eyeballs and cheeks. The owner said that it's one of her favorite dishes to eat as well. Honestly, she looked so happy when my son chose this dish. She smiled, her eyes widened and nodded her head with a look of, you're going to be in for a surprise. My husband and I loved our chicken and beef dishes as well, no complaints. I especially love the tomatoes and green peppers in my dish. Let's just say that there was nothing left on all of our plates! As we were leaving, we wished the new owners much success. They took over the business a couple of years ago. The cook peeked his head out of the kitchen to ask how we liked the food and we all gave him a big thumbs up. I think we made his day! read more

This place used to be called Los Contreras, but I believe it is the same menu as when it was. This place was always excellent, inexpensive, delicious authentic Mexican food, but I feel like it's only gotten better. We just ordered out some burritos and a combination plate and everything was absolutely delicious. It's somehow gotten better! The tacos here are SO DELICIOUS. I got some al pastor tacos and it came mixed with fresh pineapple in it. The al pastor was freshly made and a little spicy. This place is much better than a lot of the other Mexican food I've had in the area. Everything is fresh and seems to be made to order. The tacos also seem to come with homemade tortillas (which if you've never had homemade tortillas you need to get over here and try some). 100x better than any chain restaurant. The homemade tortillas are soft and soak up the flavor of the tacos. We will be coming often. I skipped on the green sauce because it was really spicy. It's not my taste. read more
