Si quieres comer rico, o mínimo un postre para terminar tu día, hazte un favor y no vengas a este lugar. Para empezar, hice una reservación justo para llegar y no tener que hacer fila y esperar, sin embargo, no respetaron la reservación, me hicieron esperar y terminaron dándome una mesa compartida. Dije okay, ahorita todo mejorará, pero NO. Pedimos moka frappe (frappe "el ocho") y para jugar juegos de mesa te piden alimentos a lo que pedimos "el come galletas" -se aprecia en la foto adjunta- (una galleta rota, algunos trozos de fresa y helado por $160. Desde el primer trago del frappe, sabía horrible, top 3 de los peores frappes qué he probado en mi vida. Cuando llego la galleta en pedazos ya tenía un mal presentimiento, sin embargo, procedimos a probarla, basto un mini pedacito para que nos diéramos cuenta que era la galleta más asquerosa qué hemos probado, no le desearía probar ese horripilante sabor ni a la persona que más detesto en el mundo. No entiendo como pudieron arruinar el sabor a una galleta, en verdad es la galleta más horrenda del mundo. Saben mejor unas galletas de oxxo de 10 pesos echadas a perder, que la galleta qué te venden aquí. Uno pensaría qué por el precio y el lugar te van a dar algo bueno, pero no es asi. Posteriormente, procedimos a saborear el helado, porque pensamos ¿qué podría salir mal? Es helado. Y para nuestra sorpresa, una sola probada para darnos cuenta de un horroroso sabor, al momento ambos queríamos vomitar del sabor. Para quitarnos el sabor asqueroso de todo lo que ordenamos pedí dos vasos de agua con hielo y la cuenta. Para acabarla, los vasos estaban sucios, el agua tenia cosas blancas flotando, y yo creo era de la llave, esta si, ni de chiste le dimos un trago. Nos fuimos con prisa de las náuseas y horrible sabor qué nos dejo la comida, no ayudaron ni las halls ni nada. Para terminar el día, tuve que vomitar de las náuseas qué me causó el frappe, y lo horrible de la galleta y el helado, que por supuesto lo dejamos completo en la mesa. Jamás regresaría a este lugar, prefiero comprarme el juego de mesa y comerme unos tacos de 3x10 qué estoy seguro no estarán tan nefastos como los alimentos de este establecimiento. Lo peor es que esa sensacion tan desagradable no es de unas horas, sino que al dia siguiente sigues teniendo un sabor atroz de boca, y aun con nauseas. I have been to El Ocho more than once. For some unexplainable reasons my friends and I used to love to hang out here. Not sure if it's the ambience, the food, the coffee but something about this place is special. We would come on Saturday and spend hours and hours playing all the different games, having small cakes and talking. It was amazing. The service never disappointed us, the waiters always smile and recommend things from the menu. I have had a proper meal or just a coffee to finish my day and both have been fresh and yummy. If you are into table games this is the place for you. I mean, where else in DF are you able to play Monopoly while having coffee? If boardgames are not your thing, no problem, they also have some outdoor sitting so you can enjoy your time and company while watching the movement around Condesa. When you are done, go walk around Parque México. Your Mexican experience is never complete if you don't go there. read more

They hide bland, tasteless food underneath huge portions. I had the Cobb Salad $136pesos it was easily for 2 people. The nachos were shared with the 4 of us. My $58peso Frappuccino was mediocre and small...just didn't taste like coffee, just a cold chocolate slushy. Each table has a bootleg "Jenga" set, not evenly sanded & uneven pieces, so it toppled over after just 3 moves everytime! Thank goodness we were there as a friends reunion to catchup & not mainly to play games & expect good food... although for the prices I did have expectations once I ordered. I won't be coming back here since also the "ambient" music is so loud we had to talk way above normal volume...an so did every other table. Their Birthday cupcake doesn't come with the usual waiters just singing Happy B-day to that table...it's a giant "Matraca" (wooden rattled) procession with even louder celebration music over the restaurant speakers...so you don't have the option to tune out, every single table literally had to stop all conversation till the song ended. Really disappointed in this place, the 2 stars are for the service, as we were well attended during our 4hrs stay. Note for the Owner: Please rethink on the menu design, I had never wanted to get rid of my menu so fast. The images are annoying & pointless. Bad marketing if a client doesn't want to keep a menu for order for later. Also the title coloring with the background don't make it any easier to read. read more

It's a nice place and service is good but had some less than favorable orders. I requested a double Americano and it came out warm. Requested another (but just normal single shot) and this one was actually hot and good. I also "tried" to order pancakes/hot cakes (triciclo) like the Yelp photo indicates but I got something in between muffin and a pancake. It was OK but kind of doughy. Nothing like the picture of "standard" pancakes. Return? Honestly. With so many choices around here I would have to say not so much. read more

This place is one of my favs in Mexico City! I love their chilaquiles tortas! Service is a bit slow, and I always seem to have a problem getting on their wifi. Sitting outside is hit or miss, but inside is pretty chill. It's kind of a great "starter" spot if you're new to Mexico City and want to ease your way into the hipper neighborhoods. La Condesa has so many awesome spots, and if you're staying right near the park, this place is a good start for coffee, drinks, light snacks. read more

Cute concept, and our active toddler was delighted by all of the toys. The staff couldn't have been friendlier or more willing to accommodate our family. But the food is really pretty awhile. Forget that the menu is made up of some of the most dreadful American food staples (hot dogs, wings, nachos, etc). This is a cute, very modern restaurant in Condesa. It's a great place for brunch. If you go on the weekends, it is very busy. If you can sit outside, I would recommend it. Inside, they play really intense music pretty loud, which is not something I want to hear when I'm trying to wake up on a Sunday morning with a coffee. I had the moffles which were quite delicious as my meal. My biggest problem was the service. It took a very long time for someone to come to our table and it took even longer to get our drinks once we ordered them. They brought my friend's drink and then took another 10 minutes to bring mine. When I ordered another, it took almost just as long and then they brought the wrong thing. We had breakfast/brunch here on one of our last days in DF. The atmosphere is modern and looks trendy, but it's not stuffy. In fact, when we were here there was a futbol match on and most of the diners were pretty vocal in their support of their chosen team. I'm not a huge TV fan in either restaurants or bars, but it felt convivial. There was a good selection of breakfast/brunch options. I chose the huevos divorciados (scrambled) and found them to be delicious. Coffee was good. Service was good. No complaints, but I'd love to dine there another time without the TVs on. read more

Excellent choice for brunch in the Condesa area just across from Parque Mexico. There's public parking nearby. I suggest chilaquiles (4x2 divorciados), sincronizadas, or machacado. Affordable prices. Ambience is great but food was horrible. Burger tasted like a frozen patty, tasted nothing like beef. The chili cheese fries were nothing like the photo and very lackluster. The third meal from our party was as advertised but just not very good (sandwich with cheese and vegetables). French fries were decent and the dessert we had was good.
