I have been going to El Paraiso for over 12 years & it never disappoints! I live out of state now and every time I'm in town, my dad and I make a point to stop in for their carne asada burrito suizos. I always pass by this place due to my line of work! I saw the reviews at 3.1 and they are a bit old of several years of bad experience of some folks. I said let me stop and see . Probably it's been improved, and no one has updated a good one. I must say the place is clean! And the girl at the front is very nice and polite. However, I spent $11 dollars on three tacos plus a drink ( horchata ) . Food was not warm enough! Steak tacos have no flavor at all. The Chicken tacos after second bite I started spitting out! The food was delicious! I ordered the three tacos plate, it came with rice and beans but I only ordered the rice. The food was very fresh and came out very quickly! Haven't gone back and won't go back. Why? I got the white tub with the steak in it. Cause I could of blew bubbles out my mouth after eating that burrito. Tasted like soap. I love this place. Mexican breakfast is my thing. It's fast, the drive thru is always open, and the food is fresh, hot and delicious. I got the huevos a la Mexicana and it was perfect. I understand the reviews for service and overall feeling of the décor. What I don't understand is the knock on the food or the fact that it has a drive through. The place is always open and you can completely bypass the interior if you want. How many times did you pass a place you wanted to try but really didn't want to go in? I wish every place had a drive through. Anyway, the steak, chile relleno, the al pastor, the guac, and everything else I tried has been great. I'm sure the quality of the food would've been good, but due to the service I received on my most recent visit awhile back, I will not be returning. My friends and I came here to dine in and the lady waitress was rude. We sat down at a table and she asked rudely if we wanted any drinks and asked if we were ready. We needed a few minutes and she rolled her eyes and walked away. She left and we were waiting there literally for half an hour for someone to take our order while we were the only people in the restaurant. No one came to us and we were looking her way. She was busy talking to the other staff instead of taking our order. We were so frustrated that we got up and left to pay for the horchata my friend got. She had the worst attitude even then. Even when we got up to tip her, even though we shouldn't have for the lousy service, she was being rude and giving so much attitude. She didn't say hello, goodbye, or even thank you. Went here today; tried two different burritos, carne asada and al pastor. The carne asada tastes exactly like it always has at the McLean location: greasy and kinda burnt. The flavor actually isn't bad, but the little burnt chunks are pretty gross. And it has ALWAYS been like that, every time I've been to El Paraiso, going back over ten years. Their guacamole is the BEST! If you love guacamole, you have to get some from here. I have only ever gotten guacamole and a ground beef burrito both times I have visited here because they are so delicious I can't bring myself NOT to get them in order to try something else. The steak tacos are super good, with very healthy portions. The only issue I had was that the employee taking my order has a hard time understanding what it was that I wanted, Since I don't speak fluent Spanish and this employee apparently didn't understand English very well and since I was ordering for 3 people and taking it back to the shop it became a bit longer event than I had planned. Went there for dinner with a few friends who were visiting. The dinner portions were huge. My husband got the non-alcoholic pina colada and he loved it. We also got some chips and guacamole and not only were the chips freshly fried, the guacamole was homemade. My 2 year old son who never liked guacamole ate it and kept asking for more.
