I noticed the ice cream/yogurt spot nearby was hopping. There was a person asking for change outside the front door. We were greeted by an enthusiastic host and seated immediately at a booth up front. The server came by within seconds and brought us water and place settings. We decided to get the chips and salsa for an appetizer and a pair of melting chimichangas for entrees. I can't resist some chorizo and steak. My partner got the chimichanga without chorizo and with chicken. The ambiance was colorful with beautifully painted murals on each wall, and the atmosphere was undeniably loud. There were lots of patrons. The place was packed, even at the bar, so your mileage may vary. We received our orders within minutes of each other, so there wasn't much of a wait time. The chips and salsa were homemade, fresh, warm, and delicious (muy rico). Same for the entrees; exactly what I want in a Mexican food restaurant. The chorizo and steak were well-cooked, seasoned, and chopped finely, but not ground. I was in heaven with that chimichanga. We had to take home leftovers. The next night, heated in the oven at 325 for 30 minutes, they were similarly excellent. The night ended without dessert, sadly (too full). However, the server was quick and efficient, and he was always around to fill water and bring anything we needed throughout the meal. Great experience overall. We will definitely return here whenever we have a hankering for some good Mexican food at reasonable prices. I can recommend this place to anyone who appreciates hearty and filling Mexican food.

The ambiance can be described as eclectic and casual. It's great for big groups and relaxed lunches. There's a variety of menu options for food and drink. Our server was nice, but she didn't really answer our questions about the menu or substitutions, which was a little inconvenient. Also, we kept having to ask for utensils and napkins, which made our food get a bit cold. The pineapple habanero margarita tasted like spicy pineapple juice and was pretty expensive. It was pretty, but not worth the money. The food also was really average, but the portion sizes were good for sharing. The huitlacoche tacos were a little bland and soggy, the chicken chipotle tacos had a good sauce but were also soggy and the fajitas did not have enough seasoning. Not a restaurant that I would come back to, but I liked it's proximity to other dessert places nearby.

I came in for a pick up order, since I was in willow lawn for light shopping. I love that they have a cool bar area, and outside seating. This definitely looks like a cool hang out spot for tacos and great drinks. I was really impressed with their to go bags (pictured with the chicharrones) which look more like a cool tote bags, I'm almost positive they could be reusable (which I will be doing)! The customer service was fast and friendly, I was greeted and helped as soon as I came in the door! So glad I came in today!

However, I've been loving the basic traditional tacos with just onions and cilantro, like the carne asaada and pork. Two tacos and a side or two here is my sweet spot, but when feeling indecisive I'll sometimes add a third taco. The wings are tasty too. Bamba Fries are a treat, but I find them a little heavy and better as a table shareable. Not sure how they would hold up on takeout, but dine in they are great at least. I enjoy the chips and guacamole, and the rice is so moist and flavorful. You wouldn't expect an order at the counter spot to have such great food and drinks, and even a nice happy hour! They win at this, and drinks are delicious!

We considered a few places but decided on Big Chile based on the authentic look of the food in reviews. Our visit didn't disappoint as we received good service from our waitress and the food was excellent. There was a variety of patrons dining in and a few came in to pickup takeout orders. They had bar seating, high tables and low tables which is probably most fitting for a couple's date. First came the chips and salsa which were fresh and tasty. The first bite into the taco was full of flavor. The steak was tender and juicy and the corn tortilla was fresh and had a slight crunch. The brisket quesadilla was my favorite. It hit my exact craving. We boxed 1 slice of the quesadilla and the remaining chips and salsa to later and finished them that later that night. I'd definitely return to this place.

It was nice and hot. Tastey. They gave us some sauces to use - i personally didn't like them but my partner did enjoy their hot sauce. The queso was watered down & not that good for costing $6.50. The burrito was good but could use some better sauce options. Got a 3/5 just bc the food could taste better. Wouldn't go back.

If you go on Wednesday (any time), tacos are $1.99. They are opened from 10am-9pm. They had 8 options to choose from. We picked the chorizo, carne asada, carnitas, and chicharrón en salsa verde. These little, double-layered tacos packed a lot of flavor. Everything was delicious, but we agreed that our favorite was the carnitas (fried pork). It had a crunch to it that was perfect. All of the tacos were topped with cilantro and diced raw onions, but you can opt to not have it. They also had a sauce bar with different sauce options from the wimpy tomatillo sauce to the hottest. The server was friendly and nice. They also offered a good variety of menu items including desserts. I asked the waitress about their tacos on other days and she said they are $3.49 each and slightly bigger. Finding a cheap meal is hard these days. We will definitely be back.

We ordered 6 tacos, the ones I ordered were a birria taco, shrimp taco, and a brisket or pork taco off their special menu I can't remember now. For appetizers, we ordered the salsas and chips. The salsas are made fresh in house and were so good! The order comes with 3, with varying levels of spice. The tacos were large and very filling. Apparently the record at this restaurant is 6 tacos in one sitting. I devoured 2, the birria and brisket/pork tacos. The flavors went together so nicely, the cheese crust was fun and tasty (albeit a bit messy), and the pickled veg was a great flavor and texture contrast. We had to take some food to go. Overall, the ambience is warm and inviting. The decor is eclectic, music is good, and clean. Will come again!
