Taco carnitas! Taco carnitas! Taco carnitas! Yum! These tacos were delish! My friend and I went to this Mexican restaurant on a whim and we were pleasantly surprised! The carnitas were juicy and had the perfect seasoning and spicy kick ! The plantains were fried just right and the rice was nice and fluffy! The salsa was hearty, not watery like some, and crispy, lightly salted tortilla chips were on time! If you're after authentic Mexican grub, this place fits the bill. Speaking of the bill, the prices were fair for the portions. The restaurant was pretty simple, not very festively decorated but bright and clean. To order, you go to the counter and a server delivers your food. There are also condiments and extra napkins on the front counter, along with a dessert case. There's a beverage case filled with sodas and other drinks. Some days they have special taco night for discounts so I've got to return for that! Whenever I'm on the southside, I will remember this tasty spot!

A copy of the updated amount after the $5 was taken. Taking $5 is weird but okay.

This spot became something I would look forward to after work every once in a while to enjoy some delicious authentic Mexican food. Unfortunately, I won't be able to return. Illegal business practices is what I truly detest and cannot support. $5 was stolen from the total amount I spent yesterday evening, January 30th, 2026. $5 really isn't that much, but the principle that a business would steal from their customers to accommodate employee satisfaction in an illegal way is truly disgusting to me. I cannot trust this business anymore and will not be returning. I must alert that anyone who decides to eat here makes sure they receive a full copy of their receipt and take a picture just in case one of the ladies there decide to pull another stunt like this. It sucks because Taqueria Panchito has delicious food, but stealing money because you want an extra $5 is child like and can truly create a really bad situation for you all. I suggest the company do what is right. It's extremely dangerous, especially in times like now, where someone that may not be as chill as me does something that everyone may not like. You don't take from people, period. Don't be foolish like me and get your receipts or just do not come here is integrity does matter.

I passed by this place so many times and decided to stop by for takeout. Inside, there are a few tables and a counter where you place your order. It smelled so good when I walked in. I ordered the quesabirria tacos and my mom ordered a beef burrito with a side of rice and beans. The portions were huge and definitely worth the prices, which was very reasonable. The quesabirria tacos were okay taste wise. The consume had way too much oil. I had to keep using my spoon to bypass the oil. My mom loved her burrito and rice and beans. She said that they were both flavorful and she had plenty leftover for the next day. I'll be back to try out some other items in the menu.

Cute little spot to enjoy what tasted like authentic Mexican food. I'm sure when I make it to Mexico one day I'll have a different opinion of what authentic Mexican food is though. Lol I, as well as my two Jamacan friends really enjoyed the food. We were very pleased with everything we ordered.

I'm from Los Angeles and I've been deprived of REAL Mexican tacos until now. This is the stuff I was born and raised on. Nothing fancy about the decor, plate presentation or dress attire needed, straight up real authentic home cooked Mexican food. Ordered 4 various meats, then ordered 4 more different ones. I almost did salsa shots at their bar, That Good!! Went over the rainbow Auntie Em, there's no place like home!

This is the last of the greasy steak tacos.

I've been coming here since 2017 for $1 taco Wednesdays. These authentic tacos are absolutely delicious with all the cilantro and onions. You really don't need salsa. For some reason the steak and ground beef tacos were extremely greasy tonight. I could barely eat them. Not sure if they had a different cook or what but someone needs to tell them to drain the tortillas next time. I hate I thought to do this review after dropping off the greasy bag with the ground beef tacos and the greasy rapers from the ones I ate driving. So I don't have a photo of the excessive grease. The chicken tacos were normal.

Last year we learned about the truck at Starr Hill one night. This year we remembered how good it was and started looking on social media to find where the truck was. Excited to see they have a brick and mortar! The experience at the truck was a 20 out of 10. Same thing at the brick and mortar. Hands down wonderful food. Once again, ordered more just to have more delicious food even though we didn't need it. Amazing. Only tip? Get an ABC license. This would have been 30 out of 10 if we could wash it down with a cold Modelo.

Dry bland food with small and large chunks of bones in it.

Food was pretty terrible. Very dry. Only flavor was the super hot sauce. My taco had bones in it and I'm lucky I didn't damage a tooth or choke on it. Service was pretty bad they could not understand me and my order of 1 steak taco and 1 chicken taco came out as 6 awful chicken tacos. Rather than argue further I just paid and left.

I was excited to finally make the hike here on Wednesday taco deal day and found that the price has gone from $1 to $1.50 for tacos which makes sense with nationwide supply chain issues. The service is quick and the tacos are one of the more authentic options in the area. I can handle spicy foods better than most and I think the vibrant green sauce and red sauce have a kick so try a little before you drench your taco in them. Don't forget to get a churro- you'll thank me later.

I noticed the ice cream/yogurt spot nearby was hopping. There was a person asking for change outside the front door. We were greeted by an enthusiastic host and seated immediately at a booth up front. The server came by within seconds and brought us water and place settings. We decided to get the chips and salsa for an appetizer and a pair of melting chimichangas for entrees. I can't resist some chorizo and steak. My partner got the chimichanga without chorizo and with chicken. The ambiance was colorful with beautifully painted murals on each wall, and the atmosphere was undeniably loud. There were lots of patrons. The place was packed, even at the bar, so your mileage may vary. We received our orders within minutes of each other, so there wasn't much of a wait time. The chips and salsa were homemade, fresh, warm, and delicious (muy rico). Same for the entrees; exactly what I want in a Mexican food restaurant. The chorizo and steak were well-cooked, seasoned, and chopped finely, but not ground. I was in heaven with that chimichanga. We had to take home leftovers. The next night, heated in the oven at 325 for 30 minutes, they were similarly excellent. The night ended without dessert, sadly (too full). However, the server was quick and efficient, and he was always around to fill water and bring anything we needed throughout the meal. Great experience overall. We will definitely return here whenever we have a hankering for some good Mexican food at reasonable prices. I can recommend this place to anyone who appreciates hearty and filling Mexican food.

The ambiance can be described as eclectic and casual. It's great for big groups and relaxed lunches. There's a variety of menu options for food and drink. Our server was nice, but she didn't really answer our questions about the menu or substitutions, which was a little inconvenient. Also, we kept having to ask for utensils and napkins, which made our food get a bit cold. The pineapple habanero margarita tasted like spicy pineapple juice and was pretty expensive. It was pretty, but not worth the money. The food also was really average, but the portion sizes were good for sharing. The huitlacoche tacos were a little bland and soggy, the chicken chipotle tacos had a good sauce but were also soggy and the fajitas did not have enough seasoning. Not a restaurant that I would come back to, but I liked it's proximity to other dessert places nearby.
