I've been wanting to try Shelly's for months now at the recommendation from friends, I finally got the chance to this weekend and my life has changed (for the better!) The menu was a bit intimidating at first because it was all in Spanish but the people who took our order was very patient and helpful, answering our many questions! The papusas were absolutely delicious, the best I've ever had! Some of the other items that were brought out to other tables looked amazing as well. I can't wait to go back and try them all!

Shellys is amazing. Tasty food, great people, casual atmosphere, and the best burritos in town.

I have eaten a few items from Shelly's over the years, and I have accepted the little issues because my daughter liked it. Today my son was hankering some Churros, and unfortunately unlike his mama he is not multilingual (not that it should matter, but it does help). He asked a question regarding his order, and apparently his timing was off. The woman he spoke with appeared to be bothered by him interrupting whatever she was doing. The place was empty, and by her behavior it appears she wants to keep it that way. The Churros were not up to par, nor as she described them to be prepared (cream inside). I won't be returning, I like being treated like a paying customer wherever I go to eat.

Read some awesome reviews on Facebook, decided to give this place a try. IMPRESSIVE! Ordered the Caldo de Res (Beef Soup) and steak tacos. The soup has beef shank/corn/carrot/cabbage/chayote/potato. Cilantro/Lime/onion/rice/tortillas on the side. With that many healthy ingredients, delicious is an understatement. Also comes with hot sauce to get the heat going. The street tacos are flavorful and tasty. On Tuesdays,-tacos $1, Wednesdays-pupusas $1. Prices are unbeatable. We are coming back!

Absolutely sooooo delicious!!! I found this gem just by passing by area on my lunch break! The waitress was very nice and prompt. My food came out within minutes of ordering! I will recommend to anyone who wants good service and a filling meal!

I noticed the ice cream/yogurt spot nearby was hopping. There was a person asking for change outside the front door. We were greeted by an enthusiastic host and seated immediately at a booth up front. The server came by within seconds and brought us water and place settings. We decided to get the chips and salsa for an appetizer and a pair of melting chimichangas for entrees. I can't resist some chorizo and steak. My partner got the chimichanga without chorizo and with chicken. The ambiance was colorful with beautifully painted murals on each wall, and the atmosphere was undeniably loud. There were lots of patrons. The place was packed, even at the bar, so your mileage may vary. We received our orders within minutes of each other, so there wasn't much of a wait time. The chips and salsa were homemade, fresh, warm, and delicious (muy rico). Same for the entrees; exactly what I want in a Mexican food restaurant. The chorizo and steak were well-cooked, seasoned, and chopped finely, but not ground. I was in heaven with that chimichanga. We had to take home leftovers. The next night, heated in the oven at 325 for 30 minutes, they were similarly excellent. The night ended without dessert, sadly (too full). However, the server was quick and efficient, and he was always around to fill water and bring anything we needed throughout the meal. Great experience overall. We will definitely return here whenever we have a hankering for some good Mexican food at reasonable prices. I can recommend this place to anyone who appreciates hearty and filling Mexican food.

We arrived on a Thursday night around 8 o'clock at the ever daunting and strange Brown Box Plaza…read moreparking lot. There are usually spaces available, but it is a confusing parking situation. We were seated in moments of arriving after a brief walk to the door from the parking lot. The atmosphere is authentically Mexican with no shortage of bottle-related wall furnishings or decor. The stairway in the front entrance, the chandelier, and the rafter hangings are among my favorites. Our server was Don (that may be wrong, I didn't get the printed reciept before leaving), who reminded me of a professional linebacker, was soft spoken and attentive. He was there when we needed him, and out of sight when we didn't. I ordered the Empanadas and Sweet Plantains for my entree and my partner opted for the Baja Crunch Burrito. We had been here before, so knew about what to expect from the kitchen. My empanadas were light and fluffy with some delightful flavors and added peppers, compared to other Sysco-style empanadas I have had. With only two small pouches for 10 bucks, I was disappointed. The sweet plantains were cooked to perfection, a little crisp and a little smooth and creamy. Suggestion: the empanadas and plantains would make a great entree for $12-14. The crispy chicken burrito was passable. My partner said, "The rice was slightly crunchy and the burrito was not as hot and tasty as last time." We decidedly went with the churros for dessert. I cannot tell you what they put in them, but I can tell you that every bite was as exquisite as the last. Absolute legend. Our server Ben, Don, whatever your name was, you were excellent. Thank you for providing fantastic service, my fellow sour beer enthusiast. May your tips ever increase. Casa Del Barco has a curated menu, plenty of drink options, and a half-full bar on a Thursday around 9 o'clock. It seems like a great place to go to meet a few people. I know the kitchen probably just had a rough night, and the restaurant will continue to strive for the highest quality food possible; therefore, I continue to recommend Case Del Barco if you enjoy Mexican food.
