Altamente recomendado. Los sorullitos, Riquisimos!

Hands down the best food we found in Loiza! Do not miss it, only open Friday-Sunday. We arrived as they were locking the doors to head home on after a busy Saturday. We asked where we could find a drink or a beer. They welcomed us in and turned the lights back on. What hospitality! Mojitos were great and beer was cold. Sunday we returned for lunch. Grouper with garlic butter sauce was cooked perfectly and the seasoning for the creole shrimp was delicious. Our service was typical for the island--no rush and laid back. Restaurant is very clean! Great for groups. Every thing is fresh so when they run out they close up--go early and often. We appreciate the owners and were lucky to meet him, a veteran who spent time in North Carolina and his delightful wife, the talented chef, who made her way back home to her Puerto Rican roots. Gracias!

We were staying at Aquatika and folks we met on the beach recommended this restaurant, especially since it was within walking distance of the resort. We thought we would try it at some point during during our vacation stay, but when we looked it up, discovered that they are only open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Considering it was Sunday, we knew that we had to do it that night or miss out completely. It's a small restaurant, with a clean, but plain interior. I don't drink, so I ordered a virgin piña colada. Absolutely the highlight of my trip! Tall, thick, frosty, and absolutely delicious!! One of the most amazing drinks I have ever had! I had the lobster dinner, and my boyfriend had the grouper. Both meals were fabulous, and the side dishes were excellent as well. We were so stuffed we couldn't do dessert, but I wish I had thought to bring some back to the room! The service was good once we sat down and placed our orders, and then it essentially disappeared. No one checked back to refill our drinks, ask about dessert, etc. So that missed the mark a little bit, but we really enjoyed the food so that's all that mattered. As we left, the bar next-door had live music playing so loud you could hear it from blocks around! So consider checking that out as well if you were in the area!

Service was SLOW, but the seafood was excellent and everyone's friendly! If you're on island time and not in a hurry, it was a fun place to eat.

Our favorite restaurant in Loiza! We wish they were open M-H as well. We loved the Queso Frito and the Mofongo Relleno de Filete de Mero.

Came on recommendations for locals in the area who said the seafood was good!! It did not disappoint i had the garlic butter lobster, sister had the red snapper that was stuffed with other seafood and that tasted AMAZING! And my mom thought she was having seafood with rice but it was in a soup that still was very good. Be sure to clarify if that's what you want. I wasn't impressed with the drinks . Mom ordered a pina colada that looked like a strawberry shake , i had a rum punch that did not taste fresh but that Sangriaa brand and my sister had a margarita she said she enjoyed. I would recommend the red snapper it was huge & had so much to offer for the price. I would fix the doors. We couldn't enjoy our meal in peace because of the amount of bugs flying into our food.. either get a screen door or keep the doors closed because i was grossed out. Sweet waitress and very knowledgeable about the area!!

This was a local restaurant where the guests were welcoming and the food excellent. We were very happy we chose to go there for dinner.

We also had the filete de mero, which was perfectly cooked, incredibly tender, and packed with flavor.

We got recommended here from our hotel concierge and she did not disappoint. This place is highly frequented by the neighborhood regulars but it's hard to hide such a delightful gem like this. So not surprisingly you have a steady stream of tourists who are constantly trickling in the entire time as well. The ambiance is a lot to do with the experience here. It is all outdoor seating with 5-6 different spots you can choose to sit. The seats and tables are set up in bare minimum style and they focus more on the food and the local chill vibe they flow through this place. Apparently, the food we ordered were mostly street food appetizers. This was mainly because they had so many delectable options in the app section that we ended up solely ordering a wild medley of their assorted apps. We tried their Risotto & Chorizo Croquettes, Stuffed Fried Plaintains (Spicy Crab, Beef, & Shrimp), Spicy Crab Eggrolls, & Fish Tacos. Everything was good but the Shrimp Stuffed Plaintains were the most delicious. The bonus to this place is that they rock upbeat electronic music like an upbeat lounge you'd come across in New York or LA. It doesn't hurt that you are seconds away from an unoccupied beach front where you can dig your toes in the soft sand and the cool water splashes up to your ankles all afternoon long. It is a mini paradise spot that you must check out.

We parked and sat ourselves and were quickly told the kitchen would not open for an hour - that explains why there were no customers. That was okay and there is nothing wrong with sipping on a few mojitos while the stove warms up. The drinks were good and our waitress was fantastic and very helpful. We ordered several food items to try and enjoyed each one. By the time we left, the place was packed. Contra Viento y Mearea is now on my list.
