I went here with 5 friends while in town. The restaurant was small, but clean. Staff seemed nice. The drink menu left a lot to be desired, listing only wines or sangrias, though they had a full bar. My party split a few apps. The calamari and crab cake were both excellent. My mofongo was fairly tasteless, I picked the octopus out and left the rest of the plate. The sauces pictured didn't do much. Two of my friends had plates with mahi mahi in it, which they didn't eat and told the server the fish was extremely dry and overcooked. The server told us they gave us a discount on the bill for the mahi mahi, it was 10% off each of those plates ... 4$ off a meal someone did not eat didn't seem reasonable to us at all. When we asked the discount to be reconsidered, we were able to get 50% off the two meals not eaten, but not before eye rolls and discussions in Spanish about us (a friend in our group spoke Spanish). I made a reservation for my Sister's birthday. Reservations are encouraged. The ambiance is exceptional, servers are friendly. We had their empanadas as appetizers and as always it was a hit. Excellent customer service, delicious drinks (the Watermelon Sangria was a standout), and amazing food. We started with the Pork Belly Chicharrones appetizer, which was full of flavor. So my friends and I arrived at this restaurant on the day we arrived in Puerto Rico. We were hungry after our flights and checking into our hotel. Thankfully they were opened so we were ready to start our vacation off right. When we walked in they seated us by the windows and got our drinks but within a few minutes we saw a ton of bugs crawling on the floor by the windows. There were a lot of them so we pointed it out and they told us this is normal when it rains and moved our seats although I've never experienced this in any other restaurant, I believed them and completed our dining experience in another section. While this could have easily dropped my rating significantly, they made up for it in our food experience. While the snapper is great overall, it isn't the best in the Condado area. What this restaurant has perfected and hands down the best in the area is their tres leches!!! So good we talked about it many times throughout our trip and even came back to order it to go. Cayo Blanco is a small, cozy spot within walking distance from my hotel--perfect for a relaxing meal. I ordered the skirt steak (cooked medium and served with sweet plantains), the Spanish octopus tentacle, codfish croquettes, and the avocado-stuffed salad with ceviche. Every dish was full of flavor. But what really surprised me was their Piña Colada--hands down the best I had during my entire stay in San Juan! I even tried the famous one at Barrachina, but this one at Cayo Blanco was smoother, creamier, and just more enjoyable. The service was great, and the atmosphere was welcoming. I went here for my birthday /engagement back in 2022 and I fell in love with the seafood paella, the service, and the atmosphere. The restaurant is small but very intimate. I came back to celebrate my husband and I honeymoon and it was like coming home. Though the restaurant layout had changed a bit it still had an intimate vibe to it. This time around we ordered the crab empanadas that were so delicious, the sauce that comes with it is a good but had a strong mayonnaise taste. My husband ordered ol reliable seafood paella and was not disappointed. I ordered the Pasta Mare with the Alfredo sauce and it was AMAZING. Most flavorful and beautifully presented food in Condado. Best mofongo- conch served cold. The croquettas are superb as are the empanadas. There are some nuances that are interesting about this place. It's a small space so reservations are recommended. I had called a different restaurant nearby which said they didn't and only do walk ins. However, not paying attention I keyed in this restaurant in error. They have a rope across the door at the top of the entrance so you can't enter until the host lets you in. My party and I were initially annoyed by 1. How long it took for the host to come to the door to see if you have a reservation which we didn't because the restaurant I originally called doesn't take reservations but this one does. So he went inside to see if they could accommodate our party of 4 5 minutes later they could seat us. Its a small space so I get why waiting inside is not done. But, it's still weird having a rope, closed door and waiting in the heat. There was only one server for the restaurant so there is going to be a wait. 3 of us ordered the fried whole snapper, and a paella The food and drinks were excellent, the fish was perfectly fried. ONE OF THE BEST MEALS I HAVE EVERRRRR HAD. I got the fried red snapper and my boyfriend got the grilled red snapper. Both incredible! The service was spectacular. Our servers were named Alex and Rafa. Both charismatic with awesome recommendations. They made us laugh and the meal was amazing. If I could give this place zero stars or even negative ones, I would but the app doesn't allow that. So I'll have to go with one star. This place is horrible and a blight on the Puerto Rican food industry. My family of five stopped here for dinner on our last night in town. After about 30 minutes, four meals came out. No mention of where the 5th one was. It's a small restaurant so it was obvious that one of us did not have food in front of us. Yet, no one came over to inquire. After about 5 minutes, I asked our waiter who acted like he did not want to be bothered. A few minutes later, a woman who was likely the manager, came out and explained that there was a problem in the kitchen and it would be out in five minutes. Ten minutes later, after the rest of my family had finished their meals, mine finally came out. No apologies until the bill came out when they took 50% off the cost of the one dish that was late. BFD. That said, even if all the food had come out on time, the food is overpriced and mediocre at best. I would've had a better experience at Red Lobster. The service stinks as the staff never checks to see if you need to refresh your drinks. Stay away; spend your money elsewhere. I'd suggest McDonald's- the filet of fish tastes better, cheaper and the service is always on point. read more

We ordered the spicy calamari and pasta mare. Also ordered the all-berries mojito and mango sangria. The drinks were really good. The mango sangria wasn't made with wine, but instead a bland of brandy, vodka with mango juice and fresh fruits. The mojito was strong and full of berry flavors (thanks to half a glass of berries) The pasta came with half a plate of shrimp and prawn. We had a choice of marinara vs white sauce and our waiter recommended white sauce. It's the cheesy creamy Alfredo style sauce but the herbs and flavor inside made the pasta one of the best I've had this year (including numerous places I had in NYC) Overall, wifey and I enjoyed the dinner more than the $300 dinner we had last night. 4 stars because we were able to make last minute reservation on opentable.com at 4pm for a 8:30pm same day time slot. My friend actually walked pass the restaurant in day time and also was able to make reservation by talking to the staff. They open at 4pm, close at 10pm and last seating is 9:15pm. Second reason is because I like the Crab Salmorejo dish, which is new to me. It's crab meat with a bed of Caribbean rice that has tomatoes and chickpeas. The kid couldn't stop eating it. Third reason is water is complementary, which is the only time we found in PR. Finally figured out that asking for water is charged water. If we say nothing and they bring water it's free. Service is ok, food came out quicker than most restaurants. Didn't quite like the carpaccio red yellow fin tuna as it has too much soy sauce making it too salty. Same reason for a kid chicken marinara spaghetti that the sauce and spaghetti was super salty, but they put lots of chicken on the dish and the chicken is actually juicy and not over cooked. read more
