I had an excruciating headache and was diagnosed with a bladder infection..I couldn't get out of bed for 4 days, the Covid test was a complete joke, I barely felt the swab. I am so happy to say this medical team is amazing!!!! Dr Lopez is kind and knowledgeable. His bedside manner was 100% professional and tender.We didn't wait at all. The front desk staff, Evelyn, was great and so helpful right from the start. She showed compassion and helped me with filling out paperwork. Never rude, nothing but kindness.... My wife fell and hurt back,foot,hand, and head. They saw her right away. Nurse Amy,Nurse Manny, and Nurse Judy were incredibly kind and so helpful in caring for my wife. I was so impressed. They were dealing with Kim, who was in so much pain, and she was freaking out. But they were great with her. They calmed her down and explained everything they were going to do to help her. We are from California, and we don't get treatment like this there . This was so appreciated thank you, El Paso Emergency Staff, You all definitely deserve to be recognized for the professionalism you show. But honestly, all of you have the heart to be in this field. DO NOT USE THIS FACILITY. These people are crooks. Not only did they misdiagnose me when I went in, but they kept me overnight for two nights and did a CT scan that wasn't needed had they diagnosed me currently in the beginning. They also made an attempt to bill my insurance twice for the same visits after they were already paid the first time they sent the bill. Now they're sending me bills for services that I didn't need and should never have happened. I refuse to pay for your incompetence. Especially when you charge such obscene prices for clearly subpar services. They also hit my fiancé with a $1,000 (after insurance) bill for a flu test! The same test I had done at an urgent care for my $40 copay. Going to the BBB and Texas Medical Board with my attorney. read more

This is by far the most pleasant ER in the city! The staff and facility made my father feel as comfortable as possible when he was suffering severe chest pain. After waiting over an hour at another ER (which was agony to watch because of how much pain he was in), we brought him to Sun City ER and there was literally no wait time; they took him right away. The staff treated him immediately and had the best bedside manners; they talked him through everything and made sure he was comfortable. As we waited for test results, we were able to help ourselves to free refreshments, which was SO helpful because we had not eaten dinner but did not want to leave my dad's side. Sun City ER has a way of making a pleasant experience out of an ER visit, which is AMAZING if you think about it. You normally would not think of an ER facility as being "pleasant ". I highly recommend taking your loved ones here. read more

The rates they charge are outrageous. I initially got a bill for $900 - not too high for an emergency room visit of 3 hours. Two weeks later, I got a bill for $2,300 - $900 one is physician fees, $2,300 one is facility fee. That means I paid ove $700 PER HOUR for my room. My wife drove me in - no ambulance fees. You must pay a minimum of $50 a month on each account, $100 per month total. Doesn't matter if your unemployed or not, or they send you to collection. No $20 payments accepted like at a real emergency room. I showed the bill to my GP- they ran TONS of unnecessary and expensive tests. Also falsely diagnosed me with the flu- as of several weeks after my visit, there were 0 documented cases of the flu in El Paso. Go to providence across the street and save a few thousand. read more

Our son was injured during a football game. He broke his collarbone. Thank goodness for Sun City Emergency Room. They got him in, x-rayed, Medicated, slinged and on our way home in about an hour. Professional, clean, quick extremely helpful. read more

I waited to get a rapid covid test and it took me approximately 3 to 4 hours and I felt horrible. They charged me $200.00 dollars to tell me I was positive and in addition did not give me any medicine. By law you have to stabilize a patient before sending them to a different hospital. Sun City Emergency room send her away because we forgot the insurance card. They did not even ask what the emergency was. Sun city kept saying we are private practice and need proof of insurance and sent us on our merry way. I understand they need to get paid however they are called an emergency room and they violate the law and can not even wait for the insurance card which was on its way before sending people away. So my wife and I took her father in for severe chest pains. We had gone to Sierra East first but it was so packed that he couldn't sit there and wait while in so much pain. We left and took him to sun city. The staff was so helpful and attended him quickly ! He was given pain medicine and was able to rest. The staff was very professional and attentive ! I cannot begin to tell you about my amazing experience at the emergency room. Michelle and Crystal were very attentive, they listened to things that other people dismissed. I was brought to tears because I was not made to feel crazy. Michelle gave me such positive vibes and I felt such a connection with her. Crystal gave us recommendations for providers. I hope that I don't have to return, but if I do I will not hesitate to come to this facility. The experience from beginning to end was simply amazing. I went to Sun City ER on a Saturday morning around 1:30AM. I am so glad I went there instead of anywhere else. I woke up to sudden spinning and the spinning would not stop. I went to the clinic and got seen by Dr. Bryan Earl. He diagnosed me with vertigo due to some calcium deposits in my ear. He did some maneuvers to try to get rid of the vertigo and I am glad he did because after that my vertigo was practically gone. When I looked Dr. Bryan up he is a doctor that specializes in the ER. I will definitely go back to Sun City any time I need to. They hire the best doctors in town. Thank you so much for giving me such good care. I truly appreciate it. read more

My son (who doesn't have insurance) had really bad abdominal pains. I had to pay $2,000 cash just for him to walk in. Turns out he had a ruptured appendix. My daughter (who's a nurse) ended up taking him out of this place and driving him ( with a ruptured appendix) to Providence where they did surgery on him. When Providence found out he didn't have insurance they were very lenient on his bills which totaled $5,300 (for everything). Sun CIty sent him a bill for $16,822. Emergency room services alone were $2,500. An antibiotic called Zosyn cost $2,600. CAT scan cost $6,000, and a whole list of other #&$*. All that to tell my son he had appendicitis. Back in the day the doctor would press on your abdomen and check your white blood cell count and maybe a urinalysis. That's the first thing you learn at medical school... how to diagnose appendicitis. All the extra crap was just a money-making scheme. It's practically criminal to put someone through all that just to make money. I'm sure the doctor knew exactly what was wrong with him the minute he examined him. If he didn't, then he should have his licensed taken away. My son could have died while this place was trying to run up his bill with this and that procedure. What ever you do, don't go to this place unless your life is at risk... (even if it was, I would personally take the chance and go somewhere else) especially if you don't have insurance. read more

In May 2019, I was treated for Bells Palsy. Service was great. But it will cost you. They flooded the insurance company with bills already reconciled. Charged me 593 for one pill and I will never go back. I now have a medical bill that is three years worth. I gave a great review until I got the bill. Very disappointed that I was charged so much. The Staff and Doctor were very courteous and professional. I was seen very quickly which was a plus. Now the bad news, even though they advertise online as accepting my insurance, it turns out that they are an out-of-network facility and due to their outrageous prices I am stuck with a very large bill to pay when I thought I was fully covered. Thank goodness I refused some of the unnecessary test which would have inflated my bill even more. I recommend them but do your homework and make sure you are fully covered before you step foot in the door. I could have gone across the street to Providence and avoided this headache, My Bad!! read more

I went in last night at 3 am with an abscess that needed to be drained. I was in immense pain but was left alone in my room with nothing. I had just been here a month before for the same reason and was treated incredibly. But last night the nurse and Dr. Ochoa made me feel like I was interrupting their night. I am 22, went in there alone, and needed to be cut with a scalpel but instead of being compassionate Dr. Ochoa sat in silence and told me I needed to relax. When I asked questions they were answered half heartedly in an annoyed tone which made me feel even worse. It was an awful, traumatic experience that made an already terrible situation so much worse. Of course, I am grateful that they were able to do what I needed them to do but having empathy for a patient who was obviously scared is also part of the job. read more
