I went in because I was having trouble breathing. The quality of care was exceptionally good. I didn't have to wait long. The ladies at the front desk were polite and professional. The care afterwards from the young man that took my vitals, the nice nurse practitioner to the lady that gave me the injection. The injection didn't hurt at all. I started to breathe with ease soon after that. The medication that was prescribed started working as soon as I picked it up. This is my 3rd time coming to this clinic. On 3 different occasions . The service from the front desk to the staff in the back was terrible. They all had an attitude. When I asked about the purpose of certain tests, they couldn't provide me with information and instead resorted to googling it instead of seeking guidance from a supervisor. I asked to speak with their higher up as this person clearly didn't know. This supervisor came into the room, gave me attitude and said "Are you going to want the test or not?" On top of everything else, they told me to take the tests to a facility that performs laboratory work. This is the first time in my LIFE that I've been informed that I had to do this. (Mind you I was paying for the tests myself.) As soon as they discovered that I was self-paying, their demeanor completely changed and they treat you like dirt (AKA assume you're poor and can't afford things). Cheaper doesn't always mean better. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. read more

I had to go get a COVID test before traveling to Houston for my surgery so I called all around El Paso the for the rapid PCR covid test and this urgent care was the ONLY one in El Paso to have the test. When I arrived, I was checked in right away and they were very quick to get me to the back (which is great because I have a low immune system and being around sick people will end me up in the hospital that same night). I was swabbed pretty quick and I got my results in 15 minutes. They gave me my copy of the test to send to Houston and I was on my way! Over all, it was a great experience! read more

I went because I have an allergic reaction to something unknown on my body. Had an ear infection. Was seen quickly and was out with my prescription in an hour or less. The person who saw me was very knowledgeable.

I'm gonna rate this a 3 because I was in and out in 45 minutes. I was tested for flu and strep and both came back negative. I was given a shot that was supposed to make me feel better but I only got worse during the week. The medication didn't really help. But the actual staff was very attentive. read more

Here with my wife who needed a simple strep throat swab. We spent over 15 minutes waiting for the PA who was in the room for less than five minutes before getting someone, who seemed to be a CNA, to swab her throat. She originally was just going to give her antibiotics without testing; which seems to be a bit unethical. My wife insisted on getting tested. After the throat swab, another twenty minutes passed before we got the result. We spent over 90 minutes there. After reading other reviews, I realized that we should have gone to another urgent care. Praying that their staff doesn't make an error when processing insurance claims as I have seen in others' reviews. My recommendation is to avoid. Their service is slow, they lacked bedside manner, and appeared to cut corners. read more

I arrive on Monday specifically asking if they had rapid covid test which they answer yes. So I stayed for the appointment and to my surprise I got told they could only do PCR test That it will only take 48 hours for me to get results. It's been 72 hours I called the office just for them to tell me that the test can take 2-5 day to get results. read more

Went to Summit secondary to a sore throat and significant sinus congestion. Day prior to my arrival had spots on my throat. Wait was average front desk staff were good. Insurance not accepted so I had a $95 charge. Got into the room and a PA or NP came in. Asked a few questions checked throat listened to chest/respirations and then asked me do you want to be tested for covid or strep? He was literally with me less than 2 minutes. I thought that was your job as a clinical practitioner to recommend/perform what you believe to be the best course of care. Pathetic level of care. I said strep due to what I observed the prior day. Test was another $15 and it eventually came back negative. So it was a zyrtec and tylenol recommendation. Quality of care, expertise and time spent with patient was extremely poor. read more

GO HERE ONLY IF YOU WANT TO BE JIPPED OF YOUR MONEY. Went here for some blood work, asked for a quote and made sure that they understood what we wanted (was specific with the tests that we needed). Before the procedure, we asked to make sure that we were correct on the charges. Receptionist said, "Yep! that's it - the $95 for the office visit and the $8 for the blood draw." After everything was done, the bill came out to be $200! TWICE as much as we were expecting and had clearly asked about in the BEGINNING of the appointment. We weren't told that they were going to run TWO other blood tests and we were NEVER given an up-front cost for these tests. When I called to speak to Crystal, she was not helpful, but rude. Pretty much stating - TOO BAD. She stated that we were told in the front and that we had responded, "Do what you need." The thing is - we were NEVER TOLD, and we only said "Do what you need to do" because we had already been quoted what we thought we needed! No one EVER told us about the extra lab fees or the extra cost. Just here ya go - here's what you owe. We already ran the lab tests, so you need to pay it. The PA was seemingly torn out of some frat house somewhere and was thrown a set of scrubs, because his sophomoric attitude (with the jokes and condescending attitude) leaves much to be desired. I'd rather not go into details here but I've visited this location twice, and my wife once. Each time we've had the same experience. Unfortunately, being limited on competition, we had no choice. Summit did not correctly bill my secondary insurance, leaving me with a balance. They have not made any effort to contact me about the balance and forwarded it straight to collections. Zero mail or phone communication to allow me the chance to resolve the issue. I do not recommend this clinic since I have to deal with a debt collecting agency, get a temporary ding on my credit score, and have to spend extra energy removing the derogatory mark. read more

This was horrible. Especially the PA Angelica Van Atten. Took 2 hours just sitting in the room. She didn't do a full exam or look in my ears after I explained I had congestion In my ears. When she came back I told her she didn't look in my ears and started arguing with me. Took 45 minutes to have my strep test brought to me after she said it would take 5 minutes. very rude. They also kept getting me confused with other patients. I needed a strep test and they kept coming in to do a covid test. Very scary to be mixing up that information. read more

Avoid this place like the Covid-19 virus. I referred a co worker here with a high fever. I told her to call me so I could cover the copay. They would not take my card over the phone. I spoke to the receptionist and someone who was supposed to be in charge. I told them I would be there first thing in the morning to pay. In spite of the pandemic, these obviously low IQ, uncompromising, uncompassionate women refused to allow her to be treated. Great service, at a reasonable price. I came down with a severe sinus infection. On the Friday before New Years Eve, most urgent care centers were sporting 2-4 hour wait times. Summit let me know that there were 5 patients ahead of me, but couldn't give me a time estimate because what brings each patient in is different. Reasonable enough. I dropped by, signed in, filled out my paperwork, and was in my examination room within 30 minutes. As with most doctors, once you're in that room another wait ensues, sometimes over an hour. I waited 15 minutes and then the doctor arrived. She was professional and pleasant and suggested booster shots in addition to the prescription she was going to write me in order to speed up my recovery. I had never done that before, but since I had only 3 more days left of my vacation here in El Paso, I decided to take her up on it. All in all, a meager $23 for the consultation and $40 for the shots, and I was out of there within 90 minutes of arriving. Excellent! 8 hours later I am already feeling way, WAY better. Still sick but there is a big difference. Those shots were a good thing. Thank you so much Summit UC! About pricing, as you can see, it's perfectly reasonable. They will also bill my insurance, as is usual for doctors. I know of many urgent care centers who charge a lot more. Paying up front, so that Summit reduces their losses and therefore keeps the price down, seems like a fair thing to me. I have no problem with that, but I do appreciate previous reviews that called my attention to it. It helped me to know what to expect going in. That said, the receptionists out front were almost apologetic about asking me to pay for the consultation up front. "No problem", I said. The care I received at Summit was top notch. Went in on a Thursday 7/15/2021 at approximately 5:00 pm. I was given an injection along with a prescription. Today is Sunday 10am. I called attempting to see if I could get a different prescription sent in since none of my rash has subsided in any way. Requesting to have a prescription sent it was declined since the PA is not working today. I was told I had to go back in the office and pay my visit since a different physician would be seeing me. I was speaking to Diane and asked if any exceptions would be made since I have not had any no resolution to my rash. Asked to speak to office manager she would not be available till Monday. The lead Karina was not willing hear me out over my concern she continued to repeat if you want to be seen you'll need to pay all over again since the PA that saw you is not working. The worst service. ALL they want is to get paid and do not care for the patient . Keep in mind you have options with urgent cares do not use this one. Worst service ever !!! read more

My son went in because he was feeling sick and they diagnosed him with flu... no test, but somehow they knew it was the flu. Prescribed tamiflu and sent him home with a work excuse for 2 days. Felt worse after 2 days so he went back. They said that of course he wasn't gonna feel better in 2 days because Tamiflu doesn't help with symptoms. They ended up giving him a shot and tested for strep this time. The PA was in and out and seemed bothered by questions. When my son asked for possible antibiotics for a sinus infection they told him the "doctor" hadn't said anything about that so they couldn't do anything about it. Um, how about ask the doctor? Too much trouble to have go back to the room? Maybe, so now it's too much trouble for me to go back. This is not the first bad experience, but it will definitely be my last. read more

In El Paso for work & before coming here I fell & hurt my foot. Hoping it would go away I came on my business trip, but it didn't feel any better the day after arriving. This was the only urgent care on my insurance providers website that answered the phone on Sunday when I was looking for a place to go the next morning. Through the whole process of getting my foot checked out the staff was friendly & professional. With it being cold & flu season there was a wait, but they have a sign saying people are seen in the order of urgency. So I knew to expect a wait. In the end I had a good consultation with 2 x-Rays & was done in a little over an hour. I'd recommend this urgent care to others I know in the area. read more

They used to be my go to place, but not anymore. On our last few visits, the priority seemed to be only about getting paid. While I understand it takes money to stay in business, it is the policies of the clinic that are why I will not go back. On our most recent visit, my husband needed stitches. He was told he needed to pay a $95 copay, even though our insurance card clearly shows our policy does NOT require a copay. I spoke to the receptionist, made the case, but nope, we were told we had to pay to be seen. My husband, wanting treatment, paid. (I called the insurance company the next day, I was correct and now I get to wait a month for a refund *fingers crossed*). Then in the treatment room, after being told he did indeed need stitches, someone came in with our treatment total (before treatment) to be sure we would pay it before we left. My husband said "So I agree to pay you $300, or I leave with no stitches and you keep my $95?" "Yes." was the answer. They have a beautiful new facility, but clearly it is being paid for at the expense of patient care. There are clinics on every corner now, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. read more

As a first time mom being four months pregnant and in a car accident I was terrified. I called this location and told them what happened, how far along I was, and what I wanted done. The man on the phone told me to come in. I was very dizzy and disoriented and throwing up a lot. Their sign in lobby explained how they get people in based on severity, not by first come first served. Already stressed out, I was becoming angry that all these people who were fine and did not look to be in any pain or discomfort were going in ahead of me, and even somebody who just walked in got in right away! I finally complained saying their sign says this, and I don't understand how checking on my baby and I isn't more crucial than a cold! After almost an hour they got me in, after about 30 seconds being in the room the dr came in and told me they don't have anything to do an ultrasound!! I sobbed and was both scared and upset that I even called before coming to make sure that we would be taken care of!! Very unprofessional and rude! Wasting time for a terrified mom who needed her baby checked on!! Will never return here!!!!! read more

I have been there many times, but this time, when my husband went with my daughter, the staff was rude and not helpful at all. He and my daughter had already signed in when they told him my daughter needed her ID. My husband asked if they were going to bump him from the list and the person in charge said no. When they returned no longer than 10 minutes later, they had already bumped her and they had to sign in once again. This would have been fine, but not only did they make her sign in again, they took other people in first, who arrived after her; out of spite. This is simply a horrible business practice. If they were no longer going to keep her on the waiting list, then it should have been stated at the BEGINNING. read more

Three very bad experiences. Staff is very unprofessional and there is a manager there who was cursing and making sexual references in front of my children. The NP and PA are so so, and the doctor there really doesn't seem to care about anything but hurrying you along so he can leave. It seems like they can't hold on to nurses longer than a month or so, and I'm always being "trained" on. I've given up on getting good care there and yoh should probably skip this place. read more
