Went with the family a few weeks back. The place looks amazing! The food was great! The service was good! Definitely coming back!

We have been to the El Paso here in Kenner a number of times now. The decor is nice. Typical Mexican restaurant style with Spanish music playing through the speakers. They always start you out with fresh warm chips, amazing bean dip, and tasty salsa. Be careful because you can fill up on that alone. I haven't had them but have heard that the margaritas are really good. I can vouch for the sweet tea though, it's legit and the perfect drink for a hangover, I don't know why but it works. My wife really likes the cheese enchiladas here. I've had the Chile rellenos, they are just okay. The nachos are good and I would order them again. I like their enchilada burrito. It is a decent size burrito filled with beef, topped with queso and the red sauce. The chimichanga is good too. Practically the same thing as the enchilada burrito except it is fried first and a little smaller. The tacos are good too. The service can be hit or miss. Sometimes they are on point, other times you are tracking them down to even pay the bIll. They have a huge bar with plenty of TVs. So if you want to get together with some friends and enjoy some beers or cocktails while watching sports, this could work, but remember it is a restaurant too, so watch the language.

They got me bad today. I barely have any food on my plate. This cannot be the portion for $14 bucks. I even asked the waiter why there is barely any food on here and he laughed at me. This used to be my favorite Mexican food restaurant but I will not be returning anytime soon. I did eat a couple of pieces. I will not be recommending eating here for my company lunches anymore.

The food is very bland. On three different visits I've tried their combination fajitas. This time I even asked specifically that they make them extra spicy. No luck. Just as with prior visits, I got a plate of blah chicken & beef (plus a whopping THREE shrimp!) that even a Canadian would have called flavorless! They put zero seasoning in their food and then to make it worse, everything was very undercooked so that there was no charring or searing on the meats and the vegetables were still mostly crunchy. Once you can excuse. Three different occasions with identical crappy outcomes you can't.

Great service, ambience, and excellent food within Kenner, Louisiana. This was our first visit and suggest y'all come and visit.

Some of the dishes are good but the service has gone down since they have been open for a while now. Every time we order, they omit portions of our order and the girl at the checkout gives you attitude when you tell her things are missing. Also there prices have gone up so much beyond what the food is worth now. I would suggest supporting smaller restaurants that give more attention to detail and value their customers more. The last time we ordered. This was their $15 quesadilla!

A few years ago I had been to La Tia in Metairie, and it left a serious impression. What stuck with me most were the craft cocktails...creative, clever, and a little bit mischievous. I still remember one in particular: a Mexican-inspired cocktail with mezcal and beet juice that somehow managed to taste like summer decided to take a vacation south of the border. It was the kind of drink that makes you pause mid-sip and say, "Okay... whoever thought of this deserves a raise." Somehow the place drifted off my radar over time. But when the craving for Mexican food hit, it popped right back into my head. I was excited to bring my son and daughter-in-law since they had never been. Unfortunately... the reunion didn't exactly go as planned. Two things hit me immediately while looking over the menu. First: the craft cocktails were gone. Not "different." Not "updated." Just... gone. Replaced with the same drinks you see in every other Mexican restaurant. Second: the prices nearly made me spit out the water I hadn't even ordered yet. $6 for a Corona. $18 for a basic burrito with fries. $10 for a kids plate over chicken tenders and some fries. And not the old La Tia burritos either...the ones I remembered piled high with rich molé, bright verde sauces, and layers of flavor that made you wonder if you should be taking notes. Nope. Now we're talking about a plain flour tortilla with some ground meat inside, no sauce, and a side of what looked suspiciously like freezer-aisle French fries. For eighteen dollars. My daughter-in-law ordered the fajitas, and honestly... they were rough. Thin strips of overcooked meat that looked like they had taken a brief vacation in a plastic bag before hitting the grill...served on a plate. Lately I've gotten into the habit of pulling up Yelp photos to compare dishes from past years, and I did exactly that. I found a photo of the same fajitas from about three years ago...big, juicy steak pieces, sizzling on cast iron and full of life. What we got looked like it came from a completely different restaurant. To be fair, my shrimp tacos were actually pretty good. Nicely cooked shrimp, decent flavor, and probably the lone bright spot of the night. But overall, it felt like the La Tia I loved had quietly packed up and left the building. The elevated Mexican food? Gone. The rich sauces? Gone. The inventive cocktails that made the bar worth sitting at? Also gone. In their place: food that feels pulled from a bag... at prices that feel pulled from a luxury menu. It's a tough thing when a restaurant you once loved loses its spark. But sadly, this visit felt less like a reunion and more like running into an old friend who has completely changed--and not for the better. As much as I hate to say it, I don't see myself returning to La Tia anytime soon. Turns out the only thing that stayed spicy... was the price tag.

Decided to sit at the bar so I can get in and out quickly and have a little margarita. My server/bartender wasn't very attentive at all. I had to get his attention a few times for service because he was in his whole the whole time. I ordered a margarita that to me was okay, but it tasted much better after I asked to have a flavor added to it. I think it was hibiscus. I only got 2 tacos. The fish and shrimp. The fish was a little bland for my taste but the sauces and add ons saved it. This was an okay experience, I'm writing this place off. I plan to give them another shot and try some of their other menu items.

The waitresses were kind and quick to take my order. I ordered a simple fried fish and a queso for an appetizer. The queso was simple and just ok. The salsas were not spiced at all and were very watery. The dish came and it was extremely greasy, I get that it's a fried dish but at least let some of the oil drip off before plating. I used several napkins to try to take off some of the excess oil. The fries were very soggy and not seasoned at all and the fish looked appetizing but when I bit into it, it had no flavor whatsoever. The texture was there and it looked like it was going to taste good but it fell extremely short in taste. On the flip side, the beans were overly seasoned. The rice was also lacking salt. I felt bad when the waitress came to ask me how everything was. I had to tell her that they completely forgot to season my food. She apologized and I said it wasn't her fault and asked for my check and told her she might want to tell the chef to not forget the salt next time. Overall the place was nice for group gatherings, although the music was a little loud, they also had several TVs playing different things. Maybe I selected the wrong dish but I have to say I won't be going here again when I want a good Mexican seafood. I'll have to check out their other dishes and hope they're much better. For now they won't be added on my places to frequent during my work trips.

The Nachos Garcia are phenomenal. Margaritas too...always good. Service has always been fine. Now. The bad. Y'all. The ladies' room smells aggressively terrible. "Room" autocorrected to "run," and that felt spiritually accurate. It smells like someone made a series of deeply personal choices and then left them behind. Not a faint odor. Not a "maybe it needs attention." I am talking full, undeniable, immediate presence of Satan's butthole. One step inside and your body goes, "Absolutely not." Every time I've been here. Every. Single. Time. I have to hold my breath for the entire bathroom visit unless I want to gag and rethink my life decisions. Seriously. Today I almost lost my nachos before I even ate them. I should not need lung capacity training to use a restaurant bathroom. I genuinely like this place and keep coming back because the food and drinks are good. But please. I am begging. I had the Dorita's Famous Chicken and Mandarin Salad. It was ok. I think I was expecting more due to the name, but the chicken was lacking flavor and so was the poppyseed dressing. I think an alternative dressing would have made a big difference. What I did notice was that all of the dishes were very generous and almost everyone had lots of leftovers. Also, there is a large lunch menu (which most of us ordered from), and it's available on Saturdays as well. Big plus.
