Amazing birria burrito! Wonderful local gem with a large and varied menu. Will absolutely order from them again

So here's the deal. I enjoyed my food, and contrary to some reviews, the women working there were very sweet. But the prices here are diabolical and possibly a little shady. Like a lot of the reviews say, there are no prices anywhere. You only find out once you have already eaten (you pay after). The receipt isn't really itemized, just has different prices under "custom item". We got one burrito, an order of tostadas, two drinks, and a slice of tres leches. Out on the island for work and always seeking authentic tacos. This place came up and the photos screamed legit. I went in and there was a mixture of Hispanic families and Hispanic drunk construction workers so it immediately told me that this was a good decision. I ordered 5 chicken, onion, and cilantro tacos and sat down. About 20 minutes later I was called and given a cafeteria tray of my tacos which continued to get me excited for my meal. Classic taco spot with the rojo and verde salsa offerings I doused my first taco with them and bit in but noticed a soft odd boiled flavor to the meat. When you get grilled chicken there's a slight blackening or smoke flavor received but, while tender, these had an unfamiliar flavor that I could taste even with the salsa. The tortillas lacked flavor. Some spots you taste the tortilla and it brings you right back to Mexico but these were MEH. Edible but not out of this world because I ordered the most basic taco that you can get. After finishing my five tacos I went up to pay and the bill confused me. $29.09 for five basic tacos. I paid and as I was walking out I turned back and approached the woman who'd just rung me up and asked for clarification. She explained the pricing and then the owner approached and asked if everything was ok to which I responded with his prices were too much. I've traveled all over the country, lived in nyc, and been throughout Mexico and the world and never paid that much for basic tacos. This just shows a business owner charging excessive amounts for simple dishes and being greedy. Yes, I ate the tacos but for a basic dish exceeding standard pricing, that is not proper business and the catalyst for my one star. Best empanadas and burritos! I work in the area but since COViD I've been working remotely. Still drive more than 30 minutes for take out - SO WORTH IT! Call your order in though. I did but still waited about 15 minutes. I'm okay with that because they're making your food fresh and to order. read more

Walked in on a whim. The woman behind the counter was so nice. Place is clean and has some seating. I love the little hanging decor. It's giving authentic Hispanic vibes. I love it. I ordered the pupusa special. - queso y chicharron - queso y frijol - queso It comes with an horchata and I paid under 20.00. In the rhelm of pupusas. I would say 8/10. I've been craving birria tacos and stumbled upon this place after being on the Island and doing a search for them on Google. Place looks like nothing special on the outside, and I wasn't sure what I was gonna get, but I'm glad I decided to check this place out and give it a shot. Tacos were absolutely delicious, authentic, and huge. I thought it was a bit pricey, $16.99 for 3 birria tacos, but they were pretty big. Meat was flavorful and tender. I also picked up a container of mangos with tajin and a slice of tres leches cake. Everything was so good, and I would not hesitate to come back. I was recommended to try this spot. Star rating was pretty good but I was sorely disappointed. I got a few different tacos to try. They were very basic and virtually all the same, just with different meats. Even if they were all identical but the toppings and seasoning of the meats were amazing, I could have given a solid recommendation, but everything was just subpar. Tacos here are of quality! Their sauces must be homemade cuz it's just perfect level of spice for my tacos. I always get tacos de lengua. Baleadas are my fave all time item. It's huge it's filling. It's perfection. They expanded to have a deli too. If I lived in the area this would be my hangout spot. Plenty of parking outside as they have a lot. Service is stellar here. If you're looking for authentic street tacos come to El Paso Taco Grill! All of the different meats that we tried were really good and the tortillas tasted freshly made. BIRRIA TACOS!! Yup Birria finally made it to the East Coast. Birria Tacos I believe were originally made with goat. But now made with beef & New to the Long Island scene. And definitely not meant for delivery or to be taken home to eat. They must be eaten immediately while they're still hot and crunchy & the cheese is all melty. Warm tortillas dipped into the stew liquid, then filled with the flavor packed beef stew & some cheese. Then the best part comes. They're fried until crispy. Then served with a wedge of lime & a side of the stew consommé. WOWZA!! I was VERY happy with my first experience eating these savory gems. Now I have to try them at other places to see how El Paso measures up. Delicious, yes! FYI: They are Expensive for tacos, always takes a half an hour or more even though I call ahead and I would like a side of nachos & salsa with the meals. Ordered tacos for take out and they forgot to give us the birria taco. I think they definitely mixed up our orders because we got 2 boxes of chicken tacos instead of what we ordered. The chicken was super dry. But at least the steak tacos were good...the birria sauce was really good, just wish I had tried the birria taco that goes with it. read more

Read other reviews - very expensive, yelp photo menus are NOT up to date, no menu prices are posted in the store, so the bill was surprisingly high. At least double the prices shown on yelp AND like other reviewers mentioned there are no prices posted in the store. This is a very shady business practice. I like The food and always order tacos and pupusas. But today the cashier wanted to charge me more Than she was supposed to. I ordered 3 tacos mixtos and a order of 3 pupusas 1 horchata. Over the phone I asked how much it will be I was told $55, on Uber eats it comes up to $49.96. When I got to pay I give the cashier $100 bill and she give me back $20. When I asked why is she charging me that much she was trying to full me, telling me that she charged separately for the tacos I did for her the math and she give me back another $15 when she was supposed to give me $20. But I did not want to argue over $5. This is not how you do business. I am a loyal customer and purchase from this place at least 1 a week. But I will be looking elsewhere for tacos from now on. read more

Amazing tacos! We come here often for take out. Warning for take out orders call in your orders. This place is very popular. It may not look like much to some from the outside but they get a lot of orders. If I don't call in my orders I've waited upwards of 45mins to an hour for my order. Even if it's something as simple as tacos! All the tacos are amazing so mix and match so you can pick your favorites. Chicken flatas are delicious! We've gotten their steak and rice combos also another hit. Before you go grab one of their wrapped Mexican cakes which are all on one table. It's so good! Not too sweet and tastes like cornbread. WOW!!! Absolutely a hidden gem in Farmingdale on Conkin Ave. Myself and my other half were looking for good and authentic Spanish food. I've had this place bookmarked for a while and I'm not sure why it took me so long to venture in here. We were greeted as soon as we walked in. The lady behind the counter was nice and patient with us and gave us a menu to look over even though the menu was posted above the counter/hot food bar. I went with a chicken platter and my boyfriend went with a steak platter. The platters were HUGE and the plate was so heavy! Each platter came with rice, beans, lettuce, cucumber and cheese OR avocado. However, we were able to get both. It also came with a tortilla. The chicken was delicious! The flavors were on point and dancing on my tongue. My boyfriend enjoyed his steak as well. We also ordered a chicken empanada to share. It was nice and crispy. It was also a corn shell which is different than we are used to. However, it was yummy! Very crispy. Now let's talk about papusas! We each got one as we didn't know how big the platters were going to be. Anyway...we each got a bean and cheese one. Very yummy. Can we talk about salsas now? When I went up to get our food (as everything is made to order), the lady behind the counter asked if we wanted salsa. Of course we do! We were given red salsa and salsa verde in a squeeze type bottle. Both were delicious! EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING was delicious and fresh. You can tell everything is homemade. No prices are listed . The keep menus hidden behind the counter. When i called about the pricing she lied and said there new menus are very old prices are different. Everybody says their meat is carne asada, but it's always chuck steak or worse. When they told me the price, I thought well if it's this expensive, it's got to be good. Just about the worst tacos I've ever had. The meat was dry and pasty. There is no way this was carne asada. $22 for three very bad tacos and a bottle of Pepsi. As far as I'm concerned, this place owes me at least 15 bucks. The food was so bad, I didn't even finish the first taco. If you're going to charge this much, at least keep the promises you make on your menu. Don't write carne asada when it's just some cheap crappy dry cut of beef. Terrible! I ordered a burrito with sour cream (they forgot to add it) and a baleada, for drinks we got a Mexican soda and a lemonade in a bottle. For the two drinks and the two food orders it came up to $37. First time I was at this place was many years ago I ordered carne asada tacos , they were very salted like they used Goya seasoning and they are very expensive , today I ordered the same and the tacos smell and taste like Indian food like curry and Indian spices I can guarantee they don't have a chef only cooks learning about food I really don't know how they are best tacos in the area when they have no ideas what Carme asada means , they should go to green cactus and learn , also the price is ridiculous, now lest talk about the hot food is not even in a steam table is at room temperature , like telling the department of health they don't care about food borne illnesses,wonder why DOH has not visited them . Terrible customer service!!! They also add tax to EACH item you order, then add tax at the END also on top of that. I literally ordered 6 tacos (no rice or beans ) and paid over $34 lol I thought I was hearing wrong. But the girl at the register with the nasty attitude and Ivy Queen nails said "mama mama they're $12 each plus tax on tax " it was the mama for me tho lol Food was dry and tasteless, they could've at least been good so I wouldn't feel so ripped off. Ordered through Uber eats for lunch at the office. I went with the steak torta (steak sandwich), chicken tamale and flan. First off you can't beat the prices. Carne asada torta: steak, cheese, jalapeños, beans, lettuce, tomato and avocado (held off on the mayo and onions) $7.50. Tamale was $2 and flan $2.50. The sandwich was delicious and the steak was chopped up so it was easy to eat. The green sauce they gave was a nice addition to the sandwich (had a Little bit of heat).
