The first time I came here, a woman took my order and she was great. She actually listened, let me build my own burrito without any issues, and everything was warm and delicious. That first experience made me want to come back. Fast forward a couple of weeks--I give it another shot, and this time an older man takes my order. Completely different experience. He refused to let me make my own burrito and told me I had to choose one from the menu. Then somehow gave me a bowl instead of a burrito. I told him I wanted a burrito, and instead of remaking it properly, he just dumped the bowl into a tortilla. It was a mess. Sour cream all at the bottom, ingredients I didn't even ask for, and it was all cold. Literally ate a cold meal because apparently reheating or serving hot food isn't a priority here. Very satisfied with dinner tonight! The boyfriend was craving rice and beans, but didn't want to go to sit-down restaurant, and wanted something super casual and super quick. Thursday night is football night. I head over to my brothers and watch the game with a few friends. We were hungry and someone suggested burritos. But I wanted something more filling than a burrito and my friend said "let me stop you right there, "Piñatas Mexican Grill" doesn't make big burritos, it makes massive burritos!" That comment alone made me curious. A burrito so big it would end all hunger? I would have to see. So I head over there to pick up dinner. The place wasn't far and parking was good. I found a good spot and made my way in. Understandably there were only two patrons inside, but a few people coming in and out at the counter. When it was my turn I placed my order and the hug staff in the back went to work. They make the food fresh to order so it gave me the opportunity to look around. The restaurant was very clean and organized. I loved the color scheme inside. The setting was definitely Mexican and the atmosphere is that for a date with someone special. After my walk around my food was ready. I thought there was a mistake at first. They gave me too many bags. However it was right. The burritos were so big and massive, they put them into multiple bags! I have to be honest, at that point I was scared! Would I be able to finish this thing? Driving home I thought, be careful what you wish for. Once I got back to my brothers I pulled the burritos out. I never ever saw a burrito that big. The only way to eat this monster was to cut it and so I did. Eating this thing I couldn't believe how good it was. It's been a long time since I've eaten a burrito like this. I couldn't even eat it at one sitting. I had to walk away and come back many times. But finally at the end I won and it was gone. This place is amazing and deserves attention. Weather it's indoor dining or to go, you need to check it out. interesting spot but I do like to order my tacos from here when I'm sick of taco bell. Delivery isn't the best option because I had several issues while trying to order but pick up works fine. I got fish tacos, chicken tacos, chorizo and steak tacos all at different times. Fish used to be my favorite but now it's actually on the bland side. The steak was also too dry for my liking. The inside of the place is clean and there is ample seating, which easily accommodated our party of 10. I ordered a burrito (I forget the exact name) with rice, black beans, and ground beef. Let me start with the good. The burrito comes with a side of chips, which is nice. The prices are pretty decent as well; I ordered the burrito and a drink, and it came out to like $9.97 or something. Less than $10 for a sizable burrito and a drink is pretty good these days. The burrito wasn't overly huge, but it was about the right size for the price you pay. Ok, now the bad. I try to be as fair as possible, but the burrito was on the lower end of flavor I'd had from burritos. There wasn't nearly enough meat in the burrito, and it was filled more with beans and rice. Flavor was decent but nowhere near fantastic. To be fair, I can't say the burrito was bad at all. It just wasn't very good. I'd give it a 6 out of 10 and can say that Chipotle does it better. Ok, in addition, let me talk about service. The older dude taking my order wasn't very friendly to me and my party; I can even say that he was a bit rude. My friend Kenworthe politely let him know that there was no soap in the bathroom, and his response was 'don't worry about it, just use the other one', referring to the women's bathroom. He gave my other friend an attitude when she got her food and was impatient while we decided what to order. Lastly, I don't know what they marinated that meat in, but I was writhing in pain when I went to take my morning dookie the next day. The burrito wasn't even that spicy, so I had no idea what was going on there. Honestly, most of the points I docked were because of the service. I'm offended that we would be treated in the way we were when we're bringing so much business to this establishment. The food definitely didn't make up for the experience as well. read more

Being a create of habit, every time I go to this restaurant, I order the same thing... 4 hard shell ground beef tacos. And every time I go there, the tacos are consistently good! What's even better than the taco's is their homemade hot sauce and pico de gallo. Their homemade chips and salsa go perfectly with my homemade taco's and hot sauce. Their hot sauce is spicy enough to make my head sweat, but not too spicy. I also like to add a little Cholula chipotle hot sauce to my tacos for a little extra smokey flavor. I started out as a Green Cactus fanatic but slowly turned to a full-blown Pinatas guru, eventually watching as multiple Green Cacti went downhill (and eventually closed) but Pinatas stayed good and got better. My friend ordered a Pinatas fajita with chicken and I rocked the fajita burrito with chicken. Best thing about this place was the salsa bar. Good 'chip dipping sauce' along with a few hotter sauces. A few minutes after sitting down my buddy got his eats. The fajita looked solid in the plate, but the tortillas were pretty tiny. It was like a mini make your own taco bar. After a few more minutes we were looking around for the burrito. Both cooks were texting on their phones. 5 min later a dude came in and ordered some tacos. He gets his tacos, then I get my burrito. My friend is 3/4 done with his food. The burrito itself was bleh. It had nice size, but was a wreck to eat. The flavors were all over the place and it reminded me of a poor version of the fajita burrito at Green Cactus. I wouldn't return for either of these dishes again. The quantity is not great, just enough to be considered filling. Nor is the food much cheaper than Chipotle, despite the size difference. It is better than other Mexican places around and has a variety that blows Chipotle out of the water. I had tongue taco, fish taco, and all kinds of burritos from here and none has tasted bad though some were not that interesting. The chips are drowned in oil which makes me sad. This is my go to for Mexican food. It's fantastic and run by some really nice people. Their guac is fantastic but my all time favorite is their fish tacos. The sauce on the tacos is SO GOOD! More like a 3.5, nice Green Cactus substitute. Some real good things, some not so good things. First thing is the tacos are all a nice size, and with the soft shell, they seem to really over stuff them, so you get your moneys worth. And it's not that much money to begin with. The good; the chorizo taco, good flavour, good moist spiced meats, nice toppings. The fish taco, real fresh (fried) pieces of fish, very nice sauce on top. I was always one to avoid fish tacos for some reason, something about them turned me off. Gave it a try, and I'm glad I did. The bad; steak taco, chicken taco. Maybe it was just the night we were there, but both of these meats were extremely dry. The ok; nachos. Piled on cheeses, guac, sour cream, salsa, all the regulars are here and pretty good. Just ok however because the cheeses were on so heavy in parts that the chips got real real soggy. Any burrito that you order you have the option to make it a monster burrito. It literally is a monster burrito. This burrito is the size of probably three burritos in one and good for at least two people. I also had the sweet plantains which were very sweet and delicious. My girlfriend had the piñata's burrito, which she said was pretty good as well. Another appetizer that we had were the chicken wings which were very good and the meat was pretty tender. I would definitely order again from here in the future to try other things on the menu. Take out date: December 12, 2015 I think my husband and I found our new take out Mexican place although we have to drive to Hicksville for it. We've been without a place since Salsa Pica (our replacement for the Babylon Green Cactus) seems to have closed down. I ordered take out for my friend and I. I was driving over to her apartment and said I would bring take out dinner since she just moved in and I wanted to see her new place. I ordered a Mexican feast. Jalapeno poppers, sweet plantains, a massive veggie burrito enchilada style, a bean & cheese burrito (for my friend) and a side of cheese fries (for my friend). My veggie burrito was on par with Green Cactus and Salsa Pica. I would say it was definitely better than Salsa pica, and a little bit shy of Green Cactus goodness. The jalepeno poppers were delicious but not spicy. The sweet plantains were great. When my friend ate one she said she could definitely eat plantains. She had never eaten one before.
