Cute little place on Walzam with lunch specials. $8.99 for chicken fajita plate with ice tea. Chips and salsa are complimentary. Salsa had a definite kick! Nice servers. I wanted to like this place, but the problem is the food wasn't very good. The rice had no flavor. The chicken was a weird texture and reminded me of chicken you get served in the Caribbean. Flavor wasn't Mexican or fajita tasting. I didn't eat most of it. The guacamole was fresh and tasted good. Probably won't be back to this place as there are many better Mexican places in town.

The is the second try of cooking over-easy eggs.

This is the first time eating at this restaurant. There were a lot of people in the drive through and I decided to eat inside. I looked at the menu and decided to order the breakfast special, which was the pork breakfast plated that included 2 tortillas of your choice flour or corn, it also has hash browns and refried beans and your choice of eggs. I asked for my eggs to be over easy and got over medium which I do not like the crust on my eggs. I asked if I could have the over easy with no crust, but the cook does not know what over-easy is or how to cook them. The pork chop was very tender and the salsa was very tasty, the tortillas were very soft which I liked. The coffee was very hair and good the restroom was clean. My waitress was very nice and attentive and checked on my several time while I was eating.

Hands down This is one of my fav Mexican restaurants in San Antonio. Many places in SA disappoints me with enchilada or salsa but not this place! Very delicious and I know people love this place because everytime I go here, always packed! This restaurant deserves more reviews and good rate!

    Carne Asada Taquito's. Just yum.

Cozy authentic little place. Food was good. Service was quick. Green salsa yummy. Chips were a bit too hard for me but I everything else hit the spot. Pozole soup looks delish although I didn't get it. Big breakfast menu and nice drink selection. Variety of beers. Will be back.

Asked a waitress at my downtown hotel for a local's recommendation and this was the place. She also said, the margaritas are great and plate #44. Had to try that all. And it didn't disappoint! The staff was a little slower at times but we didn't mind at all. Just a heads up. Super friendly and nice. The salsa with chips is made in house and is perfectly spiced. Tortillas are homemade and served hot off the grille. Everything about my dinner was delicious - ranchero beans, guac, cheese enchilada, steak. And the prices were dirt cheap. We had a car to drive from downtown San Antonio. Well worth the drive.

I haven't eaten something I didn't like here, but my absolute favorite thing is their breakfast tacos. Whatever filling you get (I'm a bean & cheese fan) is stuffed into the taco. They do not hold back! Tonight I had beef fajita nachos, amazing! Yesterday for lunch it was chicken flautas, perfect! This past weekend for breakfast was chilaquiles-tasty. You never know how chilaquiles will be made here in San Antonio so I recommend asking if it's made with or without egg. Here it is without. They do have migas though which are also tasty, no cheese. There's a drive thru, which can get busy so plan to be in line a little bit. Enjoy!!! It's always delicious.

Their torta Milanese is outstanding! I just wish the tortillas for the street tacos weren't so wet!

Electronic dance music pulsed quietly in the background. The toilets were all individual unisex stalls that were classy, mine had run out of hand towels. Also, the entire restaurant is very dimly lit. I had to use the flashlight on my phone to read the menu, but I have poor eyesight so there's that, but it might explain the quality of the photos I took. The Paloma drink was amazing. It had a great spicy zing in the back of the throat after every sip. Queso was... kinda plain. It might have been better with the add chorizo option. It was very thick. Shrimp cocktail was big, but we started fighting over the shrimp pieces. There was plenty of onion and tomato left over after the batttle. Pollo Asado was a great flavor and the chicken was juicy. Grilled squash that was on the side was good. Chicken enchiladas were good and had freshly sliced jalapeños, which is always a welcome detail. I wasn't able to taste the quesadilla but my daoughter said it was "really good". Fried Chicken sandwich had a great flavor and the bacon was actually pork belly if I'm not mistaken. Sadly there was more batter than chicken. The seasoned fries were delicious and crispy.

If you're looking for authentic, homemade-style Mexican food, this may not be exactly that. However, if you're looking for a great American-style Mexican grill experience, Iron Cactus definitely delivers. The food was flavorful, well-prepared, and enjoyable from start to finish. What really made the experience stand out was the customer service. My waitress, Izzy, was outstanding. She was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and offered great recommendations that made the meal even better. Service like that always elevates the overall dining experience. I also really enjoyed the outdoor seating area. It was comfortable, relaxing, and a great place to enjoy the evening breeze while having dinner. Overall, I had a great experience. Our server was very friendly, attentive, and made sure to check on us throughout the meal. The drinks were definitely generous with the alcohol, which we appreciated. However, my piña colada was not quite what I expected. It had more of a milky consistency rather than the icy, blended texture I usually associate with a piña colada. As for the food, it was decent but nothing particularly memorable. I was especially looking forward to the paella, but unfortunately the rice tasted a bit sour, which was disappointing. Overall, the service and atmosphere were the highlights of the experience, while the food left some room for improvement.

We started…read morewith the Pan Fila Conchota combo that is a combination of the two that is 1/2 gallon of hot chocolate made using a base of Abuelitas with additional cinnamon, and cocoa along with something special. It was delicious! The concha was soft, buttery and flaky, with just the right sweetness. We took home the majority of it and it stayed nice and soft instead of turning hard like so many others. We decided to try several appetizers to go along with our concha to get a wider taste of their food than we would by just ordering a couple entrees. Let me tell you, this was a great idea! We ordered the Tosti-Ceviche Verde, Panela Asado, Mexican Street Corn, and their Spicy Bean Dip. The Ceviche Verde was excellent, the freshness of the fish and shrimp was wonderful with the chipotle mayo and avocado. We chose to have it on the salsa Verde Tostitos and it was all great combination. The Panelo Asado was a completely new dish for us and was extremely good with a savory flavor from the salsa Tlaquepaque that mixed well with the Panela cheese. Their tortillas though not made in house, are made for them and taste like mom made them. The Mexican Street Corn was great and had the perfect bit of char taste from the corn. It was creamy and flavorful, we did think it could use just a tad more lime juice though. The Spicy Bean Dip was very good. You can't go wrong with Oaxaca, Chorizo, and pieces of pork mixed with some mildly spicy beans. Our server was fantastic. She had great recommendations for us, and was quick with checking on our drinks and generally helping us throughout our dinner. The food was prepared quickly, was hot, tasteful and refreshing. We definitely will be going back, and recommend Pan Fila to all of you.

Not sure if the Italian side and the cantina side share the same kitchen, but we will remember to come back and try that side as well. If the Italian menu and preparation is as unique as the cantina's, it will be a worthy adventure. For our appetizer we got the cheese dish pictured. I can not recall the name, but the cheese is a cool light cheese served in a warm tomato-based sauce, topped with slices of fresh avocados and chicharones and was served with flour and corn tortillas. Very delicious! As mentioned in the opening...the menu, preparation, and presentation at Panfila is unique. For our entrees my wife got the chile Relleno and I got the Milanese con Mole. The chile Relleno was served in a bowl with just an absolutely fabulous sauce and stuffed and covered with nicely melted cheese. The Milanese con Mole was absolutely decadent! The tender pork was lightly fried and covered in the most delicious mole that I have ever eaten. The chocolate was a little more prominent in the flavor profile than I am used to; and I wouldn't think that I would like that, but it was perfect! I enjoyed every bite and used the extra tortillas from our appetizer to finish off the mole. Highly recommend anything on the menu that incorporates that mole!! Fantastic place!
