Cute little place on Walzam with lunch specials. $8.99 for chicken fajita plate with ice tea. Chips and salsa are complimentary. Salsa had a definite kick! Nice servers. I wanted to like this place, but the problem is the food wasn't very good. The rice had no flavor. The chicken was a weird texture and reminded me of chicken you get served in the Caribbean. Flavor wasn't Mexican or fajita tasting. I didn't eat most of it. The guacamole was fresh and tasted good. This is the first time eating at this restaurant. There were a lot of people in the drive through and I decided to eat inside. I looked at the menu and decided to order the breakfast special, which was the pork breakfast plated that included 2 tortillas of your choice flour or corn, it also has hash browns and refried beans and your choice of eggs. I asked for my eggs to be over easy and got over medium which I do not like the crust on my eggs. I asked if I could have the over easy with no crust, but the cook does not know what over-easy is or how to cook them. The pork chop was very tender and the salsa was very tasty, the tortillas were very soft which I liked. The coffee was very hair and good the restroom was clean. Asked a waitress at my downtown hotel for a local's recommendation and this was the place. She also said, the margaritas are great and plate #44. Had to try that all. And it didn't disappoint! The staff was a little slower at times but we didn't mind at all. Just a heads up. Super friendly and nice. The salsa with chips is made in house and is perfectly spiced. Tortillas are homemade and served hot off the grille. Everything about my dinner was delicious - ranchero beans, guac, cheese enchilada, steak. And the prices were dirt cheap. I haven't eaten something I didn't like here, but my absolute favorite thing is their breakfast tacos. Whatever filling you get (I'm a bean & cheese fan) is stuffed into the taco. They do not hold back! Tonight I had beef fajita nachos, amazing! Yesterday for lunch it was chicken flautas, perfect! This past weekend for breakfast was chilaquiles-tasty. You never know how chilaquiles will be made here in San Antonio so I recommend asking if it's made with or without egg. Here it is without. They do have migas though which are also tasty, no cheese. My go to for good, fresh & hot food. Prices are great, the staff is truly some of the best I've ever met in SA. For breakfast I'm a barbacoa or carne guisada taco girl. Just one. Their tacos are always full & yummy. Good size tortillas & always fresh. Coffee is always good. I love their green salsa, but their red is just as good. My daughter & her Dutch bf love this place. In a city full of taquerias, this is one. The service was fine and the food was good. But what made my opinion turn was its price. Having dined at many other mom and pop restaurants I know that this place was overpriced. The major highlight of this restaurant is its location. There are no other places to get Mexican food in the area. Being the only game on Walzem gives it the liberty to charge a higher price for what would be standard fare anywhere else. If your craving Mexican food on this side of town you'll find just as good cheaper somewhere else. read more

The staff at the window are always friendly but the wait time can be excessive. I've waited anywhere between 1-15 minutes for orders, as a result I don't come here if I'm in a rush. Having read a few reviews I was fairly confident I wanted to try this Taqueria. Was not disappointed with the quality and price of of the food. We ordered 3 potatoes and egg breakfast tacos, an 4 bacon and egg breakfast tacos, had jalapeños, cilantro & onions on the side, not everyone in the fam likes jalapeños or cilantro, might need to re-think the fam tastes oh well next time... All the tacos are made to order and they came out perfect in my opinion, plenty of potatoes to egg an the bacon to egg was also good.. in hind sight should of added some cheese to them. The red and green sauce was on point. For what we ordered was 14$ I felt it was fair, they did have a sign up saying prices are going up due to costs totally understandable. Wonderful service and great food. 4 stars because nearly everything was perfect. Everything was under-salted, but it's something easily remedied. I ordered the Jalisco Plate: fajitas, beans, Monterrey cheese, salad, and sautéed onions. The meat was tender, flavorful, and had a wonderful char, as did the onions. The tortillas are homemade, which I'm starting to find is a very common thing in San Antonio. If you're at a Mexican restaurant in San Antonio where the tortillas aren't made from scratch, run. We also ordered the torta with milanesa. It's constructed on french bread with avocaco, lettuce, tomato, sour cream (crema). Bravo to the person who put this together because everything was beautifully fried. The salsa leaves something to be desired, as it wasn't the norm. Wife and I went to this location for the first time in over a year. We quit going to this restaurant a long time ago, as they kept raising prices and adding that credit card charge to the bill. Since we had not been in a long time, we decided to go tonight. Service was good and our food was served very fast. My wife had a traditional Mexican plate and I had the Enchiladas Verdes. Pricing was a little higher than a a few of the other Mexican restaurants we go to, but only by a dollar or two per plate. Here is the rub. We did not get any tortillas. We looked around at the other 6 tables with multiple people at each table and everyone had been served tortillas. I asked the waitress why we did not get tortillas and she said our plates did not come with tortillas but we could have ordered them for an 'Extra Charge'. I responded that of all the people and all the plates ordered, my wife and I ordered the only two plates that did not come with tortillas. Now I know why its been a year since we have been here. I'm sure it will be longer than a year before I go back. The food wasn't that good that I would have to buy a couple tortillas that every other Mexican food provides as a standard staple to a plate of food. read more

This is one of my go to spots for lunch when I want Mexican food, which is all the time. One of my coworkers eats here frequently and recommended it, so I decided to try it out awhile back. Plus, I work close by, and it's super convenient for me to get to and grab a bite to eat in the drive thru. The wait is never very long, and prices are good. I've only tried a couple different items from Garibaldi's, their puffy tacos and cheese enchiladas. The first time I tried this place, I got the puffy taco plate, which consisted of 2 puffy tacos served with beans and rice. The puffy tacos tasted great, but they were a little greasy for my liking. When I took a bite of the first puffy taco, the bottom fell apart. I ended up eating it with a fork, which worked out fine. I was just hoping to eat it as a whole taco. The second time I went there and every time after, I've gotten their cheese enchiladas. Their cheese enchiladas are amazing. I've not tried cheese enchiladas from many different places in SA, but out of what I have tried, these are my absolute favorite. They are so cheesy, and they are topped with carne guisada gravy. The taste and flavor is delicious. I'm not a big fan of beans, so I get double rice, which is also very good. From what I've seen, the drive thru gets pretty busy during lunch time. The drive thru moves pretty quickly though. I've never eaten inside, but from the looks of the parking lot, it's busy during lunch. If you're ever on Walzem Road and want good cheese enchiladas, I definitely recommend Taqueria Garibaldi. You will not be disappointed. One of these days, I'll try something other than their cheese enchiladas and add to this review. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. We came to this place and ordered through the drive thru. No issue. We get home and start eating and my husband almost choked while eating his Jalisco burrito because a long hair that was in the burrito got stuck in his throat. We called to complain and they didn't do a thing. The manager got on the phone with my husband and refused to give the $$ back but instead offered a credit for another burrito. I don't know about y'all but if I find hair or something that doesn't belong in food in my food I'm probably never going back.
