(Left) carne (right) Taco - Al Pastor

I found out about El Pato Loco through a friend. After reading reviews I was really excited to try it out. My husband and I are always looking for Mexican restaurants. We decided to come here on a Sunday night. It was pretty empty, but it was a Sunday. We parked in the back and came up the back stairs. We were a little confused as to if we needed to find someone to seat us or if we just sat ourselves. We walked inside to find no hostess area and asked someone what to do. They said to seat ourselves. We sat outside as it was a beautiful evening. We sat for some time before someone came to give us water (no menus though) they came back a bit later with menus. It seemed that a bus girl was doing all of this. She then came and brought us chips and salsa. The pineapple habanero was so good! She told us our server would be out shortly. Our server did not come so the bus girl came back and took our drink order. We order d traditional margaritas. They were pretty good. Finally our waitress came over but seemed confused. I ordered 2 shrimp tacos because people in the reviews said they were "the best" and really good. My husband had an al pastor and a carnita tacos. Food came and we had to ask for napkins and utensils. My shrimp tacos were just ok. Very little sauce and lots of jalapeños. My husband said his were just ok. Took forever for someone to come get our check. It was $50 for 4 tacos and 2 margaritas. There's also a 3% sur charge *big eye roll* just raise your prices. It's honestly more annoying to see a sur charge on a bill, especially when the service is not great and the food is mediocre. We decided there are other places that are much better so we won't be back. Such a bummer and I honestly don't know how this place has a 4 star rating.

excellent service, new modern feel. plenty of parking in the back. good variety of menu items but not overwhelming and it's concise. great for the whole family, to go, or just to have a couple drinks at the bar. guacamole rocked, no complaints really. hand made corn tortillas too. half price tacos on tuesdays, now that i tried it will have to come back and get my favs! excellent date night spot.

The ambiance is an absolute TEN. What a cute space and amazing artwork! What was less amazing was the food and service. We started with the queso patito and we found the cheese to be grainy and the texture felt off. The chips were underwhelming and needed more salt. The salsas and guac had way too much lime for our tastes. The five of us adults also ordered tacos and burritos. There was a large bone in the duck tacos that my mom had. We pointed it out to the waiter and he made a joke about it being like a wishbone, but didn't attempt to make it right in any way. My dad had a taco with a large fat piece in it that was inedible and looked like a small shrimp. How is it possible to miss these things that are going into the food? The drinks were heavy ice, cute cups, not much to it. Fairly expensive for such a small portion. The burrito was small for the price and more rice than my husband would like. We might try it again in time when they've worked out the kinks, but it won't be any time soon.

We started with mimosas (only way to start a Sunday morning breakfast). What we ordered: * Steak Hash- my husband said this is his new favorite breakfast meal. This is a man who loves breakfast over any other meal. Order the steak hash, you will not be disappointed. * Piquant sausage crostata- I absolutely loved this dish. It was bursting with flavor in each bite. Definitely had a kick of spice, which I love. I think we have found our new Sunday brunch spot! Thank you Chef Patrick and Kathleen for giving us wonderful food and a beautiful atmosphere to enjoy our early Sundays.

Let me start by writing that this place deserves five stars and should be five stars, and I wanted…read moreso badly to give it five stars. But sadly there was a private event that spread the kitchen very thin and it took away from the overall experience. Food: 5.0/5.0 - Everything we ate was awesome. We did the Wood-Fired Artichoke, the Two Pigs in a Basket Crostata, the Steak Hash, and the Arugula Salad. Everything was cooked and flavored nicely but I wish the steak hash had more steak. (See my photos) Service: 4.5/5.0 - The server was kind and Joe was walking around checking in regularly, making sure we were protected from the rain. I dinged half a point because the server didn't have the best explanations for why everything was out. More on that later. Ambiance: 4.0/5.0 - I think on a normal evening on a date, this place would be 5.0/5.0. The decor is rustic/modern and it felt like a vacation spot that you'd visit on the Florida coast. Loved the brassware and the attention to detail in the presentation of food. It was a Sunday afternoon when we were there, so the band across the street was disruptive to the feel outside the restaurant in the garden and patio. By 3:00pm the flies and gnats were becoming annoying. So good scores in general and worthy of 5 stars, but alas, the kitchen was not prepared for the afternoon private party along with the crowd from the night before... apparently. They were "unable to make" or were out of several dishes. From what I can recall, there were no: pizza pies, whitefish, and chimichurri. They also ran out of all soda except a few bottles of Coca Cola. And there was no beer on tap because the keg was broken, so they only had Guinness and Stella bottles. Because of this, it stung to pay the prices we did for our items. I'd say a fair price point with all said and done is probably $3-$4 less on any item here. Crostatas were great, but maybe for $13. I'd pay $16 for the steak hash. I'm sure if we came back on a weeknight, this place would be amazing. Great people, great food, and everything in stock. If we came back, I'd love to upgrade this review to 5 stars. The problem is, the price may keep us from giving this place a second try.

We ordered the Pop Over Rolls to start off our meal and they were some of the best rolls I've ever had. I really liked that they had a hint of cheese and the butter was also delightful. To eat, I ordered the Summer Corn Ravioli and it was one of my favorite pasta dishes I've probably ever had. I did get it without the mushrooms as I typically am not a fan of mushrooms but the ravioli was perfectly cooked and the flavors were simply divine. My party also ordered various meat dishes that they all raved about as well. We did order the brussel sprouts and asparagus to share - I enjoyed the asparagus but did not try the brussel sprouts given they had bacon in them. We didn't order dessert BUT did get a fantastic vanilla cake with raspberry sauce for dessert that our server brought given it was my mom's birthday dinner. The cake was SO delicious and I was very happy we got it! To top it off, our service was amazing throughout and it was an overall wonderful experience. Thank you, The Greggory team, for a great first experience! We cannot wait to be back!

Absolutely amazing, and they debone right at your table. Also had the crab pasta and had a good taste of our friends market Wagyu steak. It was like butter. Keep in mind. This is not going to be cheap though. If you're gonna go to this place, expect not only excellent service but not your McDonald's prices. Saw a couple of the next table come in and order a hamburger and fries. Seriously? You come to this place for a burger and fries? (Lol). I'm sure the burger and fries was excellent, but this place is not known to be a burger joint, even though it's on the menu but again, to each his or her own. I wouldn't come here just to have a burger. There are many other places that do that. Step it up a little. Come here for a higher tier of food caliber. That being said: Our server was excellent. The manager along with the chef / the wine "professor"- (he was excellent as well- extremely knowledgeable, and paired our bottle of wine perfectly with all our meals) along with everyone else who came by to check on us. But our server was absolutely attentive and great. He wasn't pushy and he was very easy-going but very astute and had all the attention to detail. So hopefully we made his night when we came to the tip. (we weren't slouches, nope.). I wish I remembered his name, it wasn't a typical name, but he was outstanding. That being said, make sure that you pack away a couple "bones" when you see the check- also make sure that you tip your waiter for the outstanding job that they do. So don't skimp on that either. So again: It isn't cheap, but a place like this shouldn't be. We had a great experience overall- Also, this isn't your T-shirt and shorts type of place. You have to dress up. No schleps.. Capeesh?!!? leave your sandals at home. Which it should be. This is an experience, not your local In-N-Out Burger joint. Excellent and tasteful decor- excellent service highly highly highly recommend.
