(Left) carne (right) Taco - Al Pastor

I found out about El Pato Loco through a friend. After reading reviews I was really excited to try it out. My husband and I are always looking for Mexican restaurants. We decided to come here on a Sunday night. It was pretty empty, but it was a Sunday. We parked in the back and came up the back stairs. We were a little confused as to if we needed to find someone to seat us or if we just sat ourselves. We walked inside to find no hostess area and asked someone what to do. They said to seat ourselves. We sat outside as it was a beautiful evening. We sat for some time before someone came to give us water (no menus though) they came back a bit later with menus. It seemed that a bus girl was doing all of this. She then came and brought us chips and salsa. The pineapple habanero was so good! She told us our server would be out shortly. Our server did not come so the bus girl came back and took our drink order. We order d traditional margaritas. They were pretty good. Finally our waitress came over but seemed confused. I ordered 2 shrimp tacos because people in the reviews said they were "the best" and really good. My husband had an al pastor and a carnita tacos. Food came and we had to ask for napkins and utensils. My shrimp tacos were just ok. Very little sauce and lots of jalapeños. My husband said his were just ok. Took forever for someone to come get our check. It was $50 for 4 tacos and 2 margaritas. There's also a 3% sur charge *big eye roll* just raise your prices. It's honestly more annoying to see a sur charge on a bill, especially when the service is not great and the food is mediocre. We decided there are other places that are much better so we won't be back. Such a bummer and I honestly don't know how this place has a 4 star rating.

excellent service, new modern feel. plenty of parking in the back. good variety of menu items but not overwhelming and it's concise. great for the whole family, to go, or just to have a couple drinks at the bar. guacamole rocked, no complaints really. hand made corn tortillas too. half price tacos on tuesdays, now that i tried it will have to come back and get my favs! excellent date night spot.

The ambiance is an absolute TEN. What a cute space and amazing artwork! What was less amazing was the food and service. We started with the queso patito and we found the cheese to be grainy and the texture felt off. The chips were underwhelming and needed more salt. The salsas and guac had way too much lime for our tastes. The five of us adults also ordered tacos and burritos. There was a large bone in the duck tacos that my mom had. We pointed it out to the waiter and he made a joke about it being like a wishbone, but didn't attempt to make it right in any way. My dad had a taco with a large fat piece in it that was inedible and looked like a small shrimp. How is it possible to miss these things that are going into the food? The drinks were heavy ice, cute cups, not much to it. Fairly expensive for such a small portion. The burrito was small for the price and more rice than my husband would like. We might try it again in time when they've worked out the kinks, but it won't be any time soon.

I've been there many times, pre-renovation, and now twice since renovation. One of the things I like most is that the owner so clearly loves what she's doing and is almost always there, interacting with customers and bringing cheer and warmth. The place feels--especially in the summer time--like sitting on a European street. The food is always tasty (the deviled eggs especially), the drinks are creative. I could use a slightly wider cocktail list that incorporates varying base spirits and experiments a bit more, but what they serve up is good.

The menu isn't overwhelming which is nice. They have a variety of plates but not enough of a choice to make you look for days. We ordered cocktails, which were nice and strong, but also refreshing. The open air made it feel like we were in a vacation resort. Our server was polite and would go and check about anything we had questions about. Real top notch fella. We started with raw oysters which were good. I ordered the gnudi (gnocchi) with red sauce and beef short rib (server's recommendations). My spouse had the lab chops. We both loved our meals. The presentation and flavors were all there. I think it's a nice place to go to on occasions because it's a bit more expensive than I expected, but the flavors and meals made it worth the cost. Staff was great, space was clean and airy, food was great.

When the Dover Sole comes out from the kitchen it's met by your server who then debones the entire fish table side. It's a nice little show. Now the fish itself! AMAZING! So light and flavorful. It's served with brown butter and shaved marcona almonds. The asparagus comes with a romesco sauce which makes it the perfect partner for the fish. However, I feel this place has some things to work out. The service was a little slow and I waited over 20 minutes to get a rose', only to be told they don't have any. They gave me a wine glass with Prosecco. Which was fine, but I don't know why it took so long. I was offered a free caramel appletini to try, but was confused as to why there was caramel on the outside of the glass. My fingers were so slick from just taking the glass and it almost slipped from my hand. I had to wrap the glass in a napkin to hold it, then run to the restroom to wash my hands. I was here for a Wine Wednesday event and the appetizer buffet was pretty good and they kept the food replenished. The chicken tenders were generous and flavorful, with large portions of white meat. The flat bread was good as well as the tortilla chips with guacamole, queso, salsa and sour cream. The inside decor is bright and has comfortable seating. Every time I have been here the place is full. Their drinks are fun. For the designated drivers and angry drunks, I've been told that most all of their signature cocktails can be made into mocktails, so you won't miss out. Their food is delicious. They have a great menu and present food well, considering this is a party bar atmosphere. Not singling out this place, but I agree with the many who complain that street tacos should not be inflated from $2 to $6, just because they are popular now. When it comes to tacos, No Manches saves itself because they have many specialty versions, like ribeye, pork belly, and even cod. In every visit, many people check in on us to make sure we're doing okay, much appreciated. Also, their salsa verde is the best of all three salsas, try to fight me on that.
