Food and service love there food especially and fajita tacos, rewrite beans, I highly recommended it

multiple times I've come through the drive through and get no response whatsoever as though they're just ignoring the speaker that I've had to leave and go somewhere else but today aside from yes them ignoring the speaker when I finally got my order in, they rang it up wrong then when I get the food (two bean and cheese tacos very simple order) they are ridiculously empty. The location on 10th st never makes them this small they literally look like flautas and I waited 15 minutes in total just to get the right order which again was extremely simple. We ordered 2 large drinks - unsweet tea and lemonade. 2 tacos - carne guisada and barbacoa. Those tacos were so small, it literally took 2 bites to finish (half the sixe of their straws). To be fair, the carne guisada was yummy. One of the biggest issues we had was the lemonade. It tasted like soap, and despite the ice in it, it was hot as hell. It never got cold nor cool. If it wasn't because we were in a rush to get to church, my bf would've gotten off to complain. He literally threw his lemonade away. Worst $14+ ​spent. Never again. I stopped in here based on the recommendation of a friend. YUM! I ordered an Assorted Plate that included: 2 cheese or chicken enchiladas (I selected cheese), a chalupa, a pato, rice and ranchero beans. The cheese enchiladas were good and authentic. They were covered in a red sauce. The chalupa was my favorite! It was more like a tostada (as Americans would call it). Delicious!! I had never heard of a pato. It was a tortilla shell filled with chunks of sautéed beef and I added onion. It was very flavorful. The rice was authentic....which I love! I could have done without the flavorless ranchero beans. There was no zest. I've had better beans from a can. The restaurant was super clean as well as the outside! There really isn't much to the service, you order it at the counter and they bring it to you. I will definitely return here on my future work trips! read more

It was disgusting the location in Harlingen was the worst I've ever had they had a promotion for $7.99 a tostada and a carne guisada taco with rice and charro beans I had to turn around since I went thru the drive thru to get my money back the tostada was stale and cold the choreo beans tasted and smelled like fish SO REVOLTING ! THEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED OR THE MANAGER AT LEAST ! Food quality has declined, but customer service is the worst. From the person (Alejandro) taking the drive thru orders saying right at the start, " just to let you know that all the drive thru orders are taking at least 20 to 25 minutes" and pretty much asking if I'm sure I want to go ahead and place an order, to the fact that there appears to be only him running the front area and what looks like 1 cook in the back to the tiny tacos they are now serving. You would think that refried bean tacos, (what I would think has to be the least expensive ingredient) would be well served, but nope I was wrong. I got what looked like a smaller tortilla than the beef guisado taco, with probably about 1-1/2 tablespoons of refried beans on it. With this type of customer service and food cuts, I wouldn't doubt this place will be declaring bankruptcy soon. I know I wont be coming back soon. read more

Hello. I used to live in Brownsville and loved going to El Pato! Since I moved to Michigan, when I bring my family down to the valley, my kids and my favorite place to eat fast Mexican food is El Pato. (I know they've closed down in Brownsville.) My kids love the carne guisarra! I know I probably spelled it wrong. Anyways, the tortillas de harina are so good. I like my Pato with beans, cheese and beef. For breakfast I like my Pato with eggs , potatoes , cheese and beans . We've always had good service there and the one that used to be on Paredes Line and 802/Ruben Torres was always clean when we went. The workers were very nice to us and smiled when they saw us-even in the drive thru they recognized us . Anyways, I hope you have a great experience like we've always had at El Pato's! This place is good SO long as you have the patience to sit!!! It's like the Mexican version of Whataburger!! If you go in January, prepare to celebrate Valentines Day there, cuz you'll be there a while! If you are brave n have the patience of a saint, try the drive thru cuz you'll be celebrating 4th of July. Food is pretty good just the long wait for most things. The food is good, but at times service is lacking. What I don't like is the absence of a salsa bar. Prior to the COVID mess they had a salsa bar to die for. It had chips, several salsas to choose from, and numerous choices of things to enhance your meal. That's all gone away. You have to ask for chips and if you want a salsa you have to ask for them, and you only have one choice of salsa, no pico, nothing else. The competition a few blocks away has a great salsa bar! Worst customer service I have experienced. I love coming to El Pato, but this location is flat out disappointing. I placed my order for 5 patos. I waited 30 minutes, watching larger or orders be placed after mine and go out before mine. After waiting and waiting the cashier asked me for my order. They said they were "still working on it" . I continued to watch orders place after mine go out. They were not online or phone orders placed in advance either. I decided to bless another customer with my food/order because after 40 minutes I could not wait any longer or I'd miss my flight.. During my wait I watched multiple employees goof off, along with sweeping near the order counter... I watched militiamen employees sweep as orders pile up and bump into customers. The priority of cleanliness seemed to surpass customer service. I watched employees attempt to clean the floors leaving food all over the place as well as half heartedly wipe trays down when there were plenty of clean trays readily available. I've NEVER left a BAD review ever , always figured anybody is entitled to a BAD day .... BUT , one time too many & I'm speaking out ! The last three or four times my wife & I have ordered online or phone , the order has NEVER been correct , either WRONG food or incomplete order ( though usually the food received was pretty good ) Today placed order , went inside cafe early to wait , told girl @ register had an order pending & ordered a drink with ice . She has me sign credit card receipt & proceeds to take order of next in line , I'm patient wait until she finished & then she stepped as to take next order .... I asked politely if I could get my cup of ice & drink ( she huffs like she's being put out ) gets my ice from machine walks back sets it on counter & turns to next in line , I asked for my Coke , she points @cooler & says "there" ..... I asked if there are any openers out in cafe " no there back here " she says & then I have to ask "PLEASE , could you open it ? " We wait patiently @ a table & a bit later she walks by & I asked politely if she could check on my order , she comes back to table with a bag & I ask if this was full order , she walked away as if she didn't hear . We start to walk out , my wife suggests we look in bag because it doesn't look complete . We do & NOPE not all there .... Guy walks towards me , I ask if he's a Manager & that I felt we were still short some food , his comment , something to the effect "No , it's all there" , walks to kitchen window & comes back with another bag , no apologies , no comments !!! ... we Thanked him & left for home ‍ Now , I'm NOT sure if was incompetence of front end staff or kitchen BUT TWO chalupas stacked on top of each other in ONE box , bottom one was swimming in liquid , probably lettuce / tomato NOT drained & TOP one resting with lettuce/tomato & cheese stuck to the BOTTOM ( also wet ) NEITHER crispy as a chalupa should be .... Could NOT even pick them up to eat ( fed to my dog ) My " cheese enchiladas were beef " & my refried beans were charro ( explicitly @least three times repeated " refried NOT charro" ) when ordering . Wife's fajita taco plate with rice & refried beans were TWO tacos with fajita , bean & rice slammed together . I'm NOT sure if everybody is stoned & NOT paying attention OR as it seems just don't give a DAMN !!! If you don't like your job & it pains you to take care of "patrons" then quit & move on ...... up until last few months have ALWAYS ENJOYED our food & service from El Pato Harlingen & suggested them to others as a "pretty good fast food Tex Mex " BUT recently NOT even CLOSE ..... once again this is the FIRST ever BAD REVIEW that I've left , BUT ENOUGH IS ENOUGH & whoever owns the franchise needs to know ( IF they are even interested ) & apparently is NOT aware OR also does NOT care !!! I have eaten there one a week for over 6 month. I order the exact same thing. I order the taco plate with a guisado wrap on the side. This time they gave me a Gordita instead of what I ordered. It was 2.69 and was nothing but 2 flat pieces of bread. I did ask them what happened and they told me that I had ordered the wrong item and it cost more then the 2.69 to put any meat or items on the 2 small pieces of bread. I know that I was ripped off. I won't ever go back. It probably won't hurt them in least for me to go somewhere else but I just wanted them to know that I know that what they did was theft and it cost them me coming to eat there weekly and we did order delivery occasionally. I gave them my card and the young lady kept laughing loudly, now we've been waiting 30 min for our order. This is the weekend we have my niece. Been a loyal customer for years. Today was a bad day and I have to say .. I can't remember even having a bad El Pato day. Greasy, less flavorful, ranchero beans which literally nothing but beans-no tomato, cilantro, bacon or even salt. No salt, pepper, napkins or salsa. Missing a Pato in my order and were short staffed. But that's OK. Even with all that's happening all around us, I very much appreciate the friendly folks at El Pato. They are front line employees working hard continuing to provide for their customers needs. So they made a few minor errors ... but that's OK. If you've never had one of their infamous PATO's well then you're not from the Valley or just landed here from somewhere else. Let me add that they parked me and the three cars behind me during the lunch rush hour where I had to wait 20 minutes for my food...only to realize they didn't give me the jalapeños, so there the lady goes back in for some and I had to wait again. But, I gotta say that finding the hair hidden a couple layers down into my nachos after having ate half of them takes the cake. PSA.
