So first off, the taco flavoring has ALWAYS been on point. My favorite is the chorizo taco. I have ordered many times the past 2-3 years since I moved back and the service can be very slow sometimes. Sometimes it's on time, it really varies. Another issue I have is everytime I do get my taco orders, the radish pieces are never moist/ fresh. Same with the lemon. I usually grab my own lime since I want that tangy flavor. Still a very solid spot, if I recall recently their service has gotten much better. The service was good. The place was empty. The food was TERRIBLE! We had to return it, and to say the least, they we NOT happy about it. Summary: the taste/price is prob unbeatable in SI So the taste and cost of the food here is a solid 5 STARS! And I have to give them their props for that. The best Mexican food in Staten Island! And their homemade tortilla chips are delicious and they give a hefty amount of fresh guacamole as a side order. Unfortunately, there are several things that caused me not to rate them as high as I wish. There are not enough vegetarian options, I always end up just getting the Tinga burrito but would love a savory meatless option. The guacamole side order doesn't come with chips, so you have to pay extra for a little box of chips... maybe that's a New York thing. And the service has only been great 2 out of the 10 times I've gone, there was a new guy recently who seemed to be quite hospitable. The food however leaves little to be desired and you're not always guaranteed to receive the correct item you ordered even if you've ordered it before. Great spot to get legit tacos in Staten Island. Delivery guy didn't understand my weird block so I had to go out to him, but he maintained social distancing by remote opening the minivan side door and have me take the items. Birria tacos were delicious, would order again for sure. read more

We ordered a side of guacamole which was absolutely fresh and delicious! I tried one of each tamale- cheese, pork, and chicken. The chicken was kind of plain but the pork was out of this world. The cheese was also delicious and very mild flavored. Husband ordered chorizo enchiladas plate and the taste was awesome! We are so glad they were above the orange zone during Covid. Went in for lunch today. First impression cute clean restaurant. Our server did not say hello or greet us in anyway. My husband ordered the steak fajitas, and I ordered two tacos, one mushroom and one chicken. we also ordered a Diet Coke and one glass of water. The food came not very hot but good enough my husband liked his steak fajitas my mushroom taco was very good and tasty but the chicken taco was just dry cubes of chicken with a little cilantro on top and a wedge of lime. It was not very good at all. Our surfer was not friendly or did she check on us and seem kind of not happy that we were there. When we got the check we were charged for our food, a five dollar service charge and one dollar (it did not say what the dollar was for). When I asked a waitress what the dollar charge was for and she pointed to my glass of water, first time I was ever charged for a glass of tapwater. Very disappointed with the staff service. I ordered a delivery through Grubhub and did not receive part of my order. Not a big deal. I called to say they forgot something. They did not have the birria i wanted and i would just reorder something else, although i wish they would have let me know before hand they did not have that. Ordered a delivery- after 30 minutes I just wanted to make sure they got the order because their website went through a 3rd party for some reason. When the guy picked up the phone and said it should out the door any second, 40 minutes later I called and he said the ticket was put in the back and it wasn't ready. At that point I said cancel it and he said no he can't because it's already made?! I was confused because he just said the ticket was misplaced, so I proceeded to tell him to cancel where he told me I couldn't cancel because I already paid online. So because people pre pay online means you can string them along for as long as you want?I was shocked the way he was talking to me, I told him to make sure he doesn't have anyone come to my house with a delivery, by the way this place is less than 3 blocks away from my house. So happy to see a Mexican, not TexMex, restaurant open on Hylan Blvd! I started with the chips and guacamole, very good...not over spiced...just the right amount so you actually enjoy the avocado flavor. Then I had the steak fajitas. Strips of sliced steak with fresh onions, red and green pepper. Very good! Came with very warm corn tortillas, rice and beans and for the first time I can say the beans were delicious, served with parmesan cheese on top! So happy to see not the usual dark brown and overly cooked beans I've had in other Mex restaurants. I also had the traditional margherita on the rocks..Chris made it so well I had to have a second! Decor here is quaint and the Mexican tiles along the wall give the Mexican Cantina feel. Now, the mural on the wall...WOW! Hand drawn in pencil and then charcoal color filled. Magnificent work!
