We had a great family experience for lunch at El Patron's today. The restaurant itself has a great vibe and ambiance: comfy black chairs and booths, great lighting, colorful walls adorned with various photos, and a full bar full of Steelers (?) football regalia. Owners must be big fans! Food was fresh, delicious, and prepared beautifully. Margaritas were enormous and in beautiful glassware. The team who took care of us was phenomenal. They have regulars with whom they chat and ask about family, so this restaurant has some roots at this point with the locals. Best of all was the VALUE: very reasonable prices. This place will rip you off! The manager is a scam artist and never stops lying. Everything we had came up to 44.50. He said our total was 51.37! He clearly wrote 49.37 then put our total at 51.37. So he was writing that the tax was two dollars. I said so: if the tax is $2, then our total should be $ 46.50. He said no tax is more than $2. I said not according to you. He even overcharged me for a drink on top of that. I let those two dollars go. He also charged us for shredded cheese after I asked if it would be extra and he said no. I ended up paying 49.37 just so we could leave because he was just lying and making all kinds of stuff up. Food was nasty as hell as well. We didn't even finish our food before the bill came and I wasn't even going to say anything about how bad it was and never did! I was just trying not to get ripped off! They do not even itemize the tickets. He just wrote down the total! This place is a joke and needs to be investigated! read more

You must try this place!! There are several good Mexican restaurants around the lake and El Patron's knocked it out of the park!! It flew to the top of my list. The chips came out hot and the salsa is served in a little carafe you pour into a single serve bowl. Dinner was hard to choose. So many enticing options. I picked the steak and chicken fajitas and glad I did! Next time I will do all steak since I enjoyed the flavor over the chicken. But the chicken was goood, too!! We came in for lunch after a bridal cave tour. We were seated quickly and brought chips & salsa even before the server got drink orders. Salsa was mild and chips were fresh. Our group got the lunch sized burrito supreme (plenty big); seafood chimichanga; and burrito, taco, and enchilada combo covered in cheese sauce. Food came out quick and was served hot. The only thing I'd say was just okay was the rice and beans. I was very happy to see guacamole on my plate with my entree. Many places charge extra for it and they did not. We visited here mid June on a week day and was glad it wasn't busy because we are still social distancing. I would have rated it higher if they were wearing masks. The chips and salsa was very good, my hubby had the Patron Burrito with ground beef, it was stuffed full of meat which makes him happy. I had the Jalisco and it was alright but not something I would get again. We then ordered to go last week, of course my hubby got the Patron Burrito again and I tried the Shrimp Fajitas, they were fabulous, 10 large shrimps and lots of onions and peppers. Wow! This place blew other Mexican restaurants out of the water. I got the Hawaiian fajitas and was throughly impressed. We came here on high school graduation night. I get that there were a lot of people to serve, but they did a terrible job. There was barely any food on my plate and it didn't taste good either.
