Love smaller family owned restaurants. Drove by this place several times and finally went in. It was a Thursday afternoon, after lunch and before dinner. The p-lot was kinda empty, so I was a tad skeptical. As soon as we entered I knew we were gonna be fine. We were meet immediately by a super friendly staff member and sat in a booth of our choice. We were given some chip & salsa & home made refried bean dip, all very appetizing. They have a very lengthy and detailed menu, both food and drinks. We jumped right in with some Mexican draft beers, dos XX amber, this beer on draft is "mothers milk of the gods" and a couple of house magi's. All were cold and satisfying. We both ordered off the lunch special menu, and had a wonderful meal that was priced very reasonable. The place is clean and has a nice vibe. We have been back a few more times for lunches, and are now wanting to check out the dinner scene. Restrooms were spotless, btw Every time we have been, the service has been very attentive and friendly like we have been coming there for years, genuine folks I might add. I went the other day for the first time. I had the chili verde and it was delicious! The service was great and the kids ate really nice, they told me Juan was their dad. I got the usual chips and salsa with beans also that was included. I'll be going back very soon pretty nice place on the inside and they even have a patio. They have a bar as well. I used to go there when the agave was there. It went downhill the last couple of years that it was in business when Juan took over things really were different but the food is excellent. I would recommend this place over any. Any Mexican restaurant in the Bullhead city Lake Havasu Fort Mojave even the castle I like his Menudo I like his bongo Esposo is great and his taco Tuesday is excellent even for the price. One is very nice. His main waitress she's excellent. It's a very good restaurant. I recommend it very highly and that's most recent as of July 2026. read more

Excellent Food - Reasonable Prices After a day of sightseeing and a little gambling, we left the casino strip to find a local place serving Mexican food. Agave hit the spot. Great salsas and chips. My wife had the Chile Relleno and a Chicken Taco which were both excellent. I had a plate of three different tacos and they were loaded with protein and tasty. Prices were reasonable and service was friendly and efficient. It's not far from the casino strip yet far enough to not have casino strip prices. Agave will not disappoint. read more

Over 13 years ago I did the first Yelp review of Agave. It's been about 8 years since I have visited the restaurant and on my return visit, I was pleasantly surprised. Agave has new owners, as of about 2 years ago, and it's a big improvement. The reason I stopped going was that the food went downhill. About 2 months ago I read a review, from a paper in the Tri-State area, of Agave and the review went on the say that they had the best chile relleno in the Tri-State area. After reading that I had to investigate so last Saturday I walked in and grabbed a seat at the bar. A friendly server brought me chips, salsa and a small bowl of warm refried beans. I ordered a Mexican beer (Estrella Jalisco) and looked over the menu. There it was staring me in the face just asking me to order the plate. When my server came back, I order the chile relleno plate. As I waited for my dinner, I dipped my chips into their delicious beans. Finally, the wait was over, and the server placed the plate in front of me. I dug into the chile relleno. The chile was cooked to perfection and had a good amount of cheese inside. The chile was not spicy hot but I could taste the flavor of the tender poblano chile pepper. The batter on the outside of the pepper brought the relleno to complete flavor crescendo. The refried beans rocked the plate, and the Spanish rice was tasty and very moist. I cleaned my whole plate, and I will defiantly be returning to try other items. read more

I ordered from their website...DON'T use it! I finally called, after an hour had gone by. The order was supposed to be here in 15-40 minutes. The extremely rude woman that answered the phone told me "we don't have online ordering" I told her to look at the website and she told me "tough luck, we don't have any online orders", so I asked what they were going to do about it, since I'd been charged for it. She started yelling at me! She should definitely get a new job where she doesn't deal with the public. I asked to speak to the manager, who also said they had no order (I'd given them the order #) he hung up on me. The delivery driver, who was awesome, texted me to say they did have the order and he was picking it up. What a f**king nightmare. The food tasted alright, except that someone had obviously thrown it in the box...everything, including the rice and beans were all mixed together We had been ordering pretty regularly from them through door dash and everything was fine before. I don't know where they got that rude bi*tch that answered the phone, but she needs to go! We may not ever eat there again because of her. We have been now twice for their Taco Tuesday. The restaurant is extremely clean, and the service is excellent. Although their tacos are stuffed full, and the shells are nice and crunchy, they are not very flavorful. We have had ground beef, pork and chicken. Still a great place, great service, great folks. Walked in around 11:30, no one here. Immediately got greeted, then chips, beans and salsa....always good stuff. Ordered a couple lunch items and got them in 11 minutes. Really hot, don't touch the plate! Saucy, tasty, crunchy, you know....great Mexican food. Ice cold great tasting water, and very attentive. The only reason why I am giving it two stars is because of the service. While they were really nice, the food lacked. The chips tasted burnt and the carnitas was obviously old. They seemed like they were all grease and possibly cooked twice. It was so tough that we could not chew it. From Yuma to Flagstaff, this is the BEST Mexican food I've had in my 7 years in AZ. The monster burrito there will feed a family of 4 for under $35. WTH was that? I had always heard about their Taco Tuesday thinking it would translate across the menu, it Definitely does not! Our first visit, first in the door. A group of 6-7 came in directly thereafter and we're served first. I am assuming they called ahead, we're good with that. Their food is coming out looking tremendously good, taco's, ceviche and such. We had gotten our order in before they were seated. The order arrived about twenty minutes after they were served. The server set the first two plates, chorizo and eggs, beans and rice w/tortillas. We knew something was wrong when those arrived. Then my plate, chilequiles rice and beans arrived, looked OK. My guest couldn't figure out what kind of ground meat the "chorizo" was mixed with their one scrambled egg. The tortillas were so dried out they wouldn't bend without breaking. They said the food had no taste and the "chorizo" was just a bunch of overcooked dried up bits. They couldn't eat even half of anything. I tried the chilequiles, the eggs were cooked to order and the sour cream was tasty. The chilequiles not so much, they tasted like what I would imagine nasty socks tasting like, cause that's how they smelled. I too couldn't eat more than half of anything. The chips and salsa weren't worth putting in your mouth. Chips old and soggy, salsa had NO flavor or even heat. I would be extremely embarrassed to recommend this restaurant ever. read more

Was a little scared when we pulled up and we were the only people there...but, it was only 1600! This place was delish! We just moved back from Texas and haven't had good Mexican food in over a year! I also had the chicken tortilla soup, it was the best I have had in Arizona in almost 5 years. The chili relleno was so good and I ate it all. They also have some of the best beans around. We came to bullhead cause we got a lake house for the end of the summer. Found this place driving around because the place we wanted to go to was originally closed. Our party was about 13 people and so we asked if we can get our seats put together so we can sit by each other. The woman inside was nice and she ended up being our server. When we finished ordering, the food came out quickly and efficiently, even the micheladas my friends had ordered. A few of the others starting coming and sat themselves in another table. While all this was happening, the lady was juggling in between groups that needed help. I ordered the chicken super taco and my boyfriend had the camarones. His food was really spicy, to the point where he didn't even wanna finish. My taco was good, and super big. I guess they didn't lie in the menu when they called it that. LOL.
