This was one of the worst restaurant meals I've ever been served. The food looked like it had already been eaten once and put back on the plate. The "enchiladas" were drowning in a thick layer of brown gravy that looked more like cafeteria slop than Mexican food, and the ground beef had a gray, overcooked appearance with no flavor. The taco was soggy, greasy, and thrown together with wilted lettuce and cheese. Presentation matters because people eat with their eyes first, and this meal was completely unappetizing. Even after taking a few bites, the taste matched the appearance--bland, greasy, and honestly nauseating. I've had better frozen Mexican dinners from the grocery store. Based on this experience, I wouldn't serve this food to my dog, much less pay for it in a restaurant. I won't be returning. read more

If I could give ZERO stars, I would. We found HAIR in the plate of beans, lettuce, and guacamole that came with our meal. We immediatelyBbrought it to the staff's attention. Not only did no one apologize, but we were told the item had been removed from our bill. When we went to check out, they attempted to process my payment without showing me the receipt first. I specifically asked to see the receipt, and after a noticeable sigh, it was finally shown to me. The charge had **NOT** been removed as I had been told. When I pointed this out, I asked that it be taken off the bill. The manager's response was that it was "only one plate" as if finding hair in part of a meal somehow made it acceptable. To make matters worse, while this was happening, we heard employees in the background refer to us as "cabrón" among other statements. Whether they assumed we wouldn't understand Spanish because we're American or not, it was incredibly disrespectful and unprofessional. Mistakes happen. Hair can accidentally end up in food. What matters is HOW a restaurant responds. A sincere apology goes a long way, but we never received one. Instead, we experienced poor customer service, were told something had been removed from our bill when it hadn't, and were treated disrespectfully and called things in Spanish that was assumed we wouldn't understand. We won't be returning, and I hope management takes this as an opportunity to improve. Every customer deserves to be treated with honesty, respect, and a simple apology when something goes wrong. read more

Nice Mexican restaurant close to I-26. We usually stop at Poblanos in Newberry but this one has easy access to the interstate. Nicely decorated and great food at affordable prices. read more

The inside of this restaurant is nicely set up! Plenty of seating and good music playing. I ordered a bean, cheese, chicken, rice, and guacamole burrito...it was HUGE and delicious! I could only finish half. The employees were friendly and helpful, and my food came out in a reasonable time. I even got to practice a little Spanish with some of the staff, which made the experience feel even more authentic. Don't worry, they have English-speaking employees too. Highly recommend! read more

Wow! Very impressed by this place. Convenient right off the interstate. The prices are very reasonable, staff is attentive, and food delicious! The Poblano guacamole was different than other guacs I've had, more chunky, but really good! Told my family we should make this a regular place to stop when driving through. read more

This was certainly a pleasant surprise on this road trip. The Ramirez family and staff provide exceptional "homemade" Mexican food. My taste buds were dancing in Mexico which is always a pleasure to visit for us. We ordered a beef soup "cocido" and flautas that were absolutely delicious. The portions are generous. The staff was happy and efficient and the owners are a beautiful family. The music was fabulous and the place impeccable. We will definitely be back when we drive by Clinton and hope you do also. Such a nice surprise. I think I'll start driving the distance from Greenwood . Way better than anything we have here Enchilada verde were delicious ! Rice and beans were spot on as well. Beans were perfect consistency Rice well cooked. Green verde sauce has a nice little kick and tasted freshly prepared. Good quality chunks of moist chicken inside my enchilada Table salsas were typical tomato sauce style but had nice flavor. Chips weren't greasy. Freshly fried and fresh. This a gem in the middle of the state. Excellent food, attentive service, and great decor. I had the steak ranchero and it was delicious. The veggies, the rice, and the beans were perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The food came out hot and quick. My wife enjoyed the enchilada and tamale combo. They add meat and mole sauce on top of the tamale, which takes the dish to another level. I had to try the horchata as someone mentioned it in a prior review and I have to agree it is one of the best I've had. If you are in the area or driving by on I-26, you have to stop here. read more
