Simona T (as per my receipt) or the lady at the drive thru window at lunch time on weekdays appears to be a not a people person. very rude. and not friendly at all. no greeting. zero eye contact. no thank you. she's gives you the give me your money. here's your food. don't come back attitude/vibe. instead of being happy and grateful for having a job during these tough times. on the positive note. the food is great. super tasty and always fresh. i'm hoping this review can help all patrons decide where to spend their hard earned money. read more

Me, my friend and her father went through the drive thru and this was my first time. I got the shredded cheese and chicken quesadilla, my friend got the BRC burrito, and my friend's father got the avocado chicken bowl. When we got back to my friend's house we realized that my quesadillas were in a paper bag which we found weird, and it was really soggy. The rice is good but my friend said the rice in the little bowl tasted different than in her burrito. My friend's mom who had a chicken bowl said it tasted fine like 3 out of 5, or 5 out of 10. With the quesadillas I ended up giving them to my friend's mom cause they had stuff in them that I was allergic to. I wish the drive thru window showed exactly what was in it or at least the main ingredients because I thought it had only shredded cheese and chicken but it also had onions and peppers etc. My friend's mom said they were mediocre too anyway. I ended up eating just the rice and something else that was in the house. The person at the drive thru was pretty nice overall, the only thing my friend said was that they kinda really pushed the chips and guacamole, asking if we wanted some twice at the window. El Pollo Loco is a great choice for healthy great tasting chicken. Their chicken is Keto friendly, low carb but really moist with great flavor. For this visit, I walked in and ordered takeout. If you only want chicken you can order 8 piece legs and thighs or an 8 piece that includes all standard pieces you would get from CS with their bucket of F*c# only EPL's chicken is worth eating and you won't need to take baby aspirin afterwards in fear of a heart attack. El Pollo Loco has a salsa bar that allows you to stock up on the good stuff. We love their green avocado salsa and yes it goes well with the chicken. EPL is clean, service is good and prices are very fair. El Pollo Loco deserves 4 stars. Yay! I'm a fan. read more

We've tried on several an occasion to order thru Door Dash and the same error of "This store is currently having issues accepting orders at this time. Please select another store or try again later" is still not fixed or been looked at. I have never stepped foot inside an EPL before last week. I don't know how that has happened, but I'm so glad I walked into this location close to home and ordered myself a crunchy taco! Husband had one too ($2 each). We also each ordered chips after seeing the awesome salsa bar. Spicy green salsa and a hot red salsa were both fresh and delicious. The taco was also really good - and the place was clean and service was beyond friendly. An employee came up to us offering a tray of jalapeno hot sauce packets, salt, mints, etc! So awesome. Another one diligently cleaned a nearby table (and used a cleaning spray that wasn't at all offensive as we ate our food - no crazy chemical smells - just delicious taco aroma). I'll definitely be back in here. Next time I'll probably substitute avocado for the chicken in my taco, which is their option to make it a vegetarian taco. (They also serve dairy/meat-free tacos on request for vegans). read more

I don't often get to visit El Pollo Locos as they are few and far between in my area, but out of the two locations near me, being the Pittsburg and Concord locations, have to say that this one is my preference. And here is my review to tell you why.... As compared to the the Pittsburg location, the customer service and the attention to cleanliness and detail is always on point. You always see an associate cleaning and wiping down the tables and counters and makimg sure the salsa bar is full. Although when ordering food sometimes there is certainly a language barrier, but I don't hold it against anyone. But the main topic about this review is the food and now I will speak on that. I like the chicken at El Pollo Loco a lot. Its nice to have a place where you can get chicken this flavorful and its not coated in a blend of "12 herbs" and spices and or double battered to be extra crispy. Nothing wrong with the compitition, but the latin marinated style of chicken here at El Pollo Loco brings a new flair and new taste that most chicken eaters aren't use too. Citrus in their marinade and the flame grill process here which they seem to have down to a "T" and is quite refreshing just makes eating here a delight. Their cooking process keeps the chicken juicy which I like and feel they have an edge when I think about the pittsburg location when it comes which tends to dry out their chicken. In conclusion, If you like chicken and don't want to just stick to the normal "chicken joint" chicken then come to El Pollo Loco, especially this location. If you like it, Yelp about it! read more

Came for dinner tonight with my husband and two small boys. Restaurant was clean and spacious. Ordering was a bit difficult due to a language barrier, but friendly and polite. The pollo bowls that we ordered off of the kids menu were really wet. Liquid was dripping from the fork. Despite the wetness they were kid approved. My husband ordered chicken with coleslaw. The avocado was old and his salsa was super runny. I ordered the tostada chicken bowl with creamy cilantro which was super yummy. Towards the end of the meal our baby spilled an entire drink on the table. My husband asked for towel three times. Either they didn't understand due to a language barrier or they didn't care. You can't go wrong with El Pollo loco. Despite being a chain the food is fresh and affordable. Their dollar menu offers tacos, burritos and other ACTUAL food items that you wouldn't mind consuming (in contrast to other fast food dollar menus). The chicken here is phenomenal.
