It came with 2 tortillas too, plus a bag of chips. Don't forget to grab the red salsa and green sauce, they pair great with the chicken. I like to save the thigh meat and make my own shredded chicken tacos at home with the tortillas and sauces. I've eaten at every El Pollo Loco within a 5 mile radius of this one. It's not exactly something I am proud of but hey, those fire grilled combos are quite the deal. Because it's an easy walk, this is my establishment of choice. However, because each shop (or franchiser) sets its own prices, this has the most expensive price compared to the other ones. Think a 10 to 15% upcharge versus the lowest priced competitors. 2. Having said that, I love the service and the quality of the product from this specific location. They are super quick with mobile orders and the food is always ready at the time they say it will. They don't cheat you on portion sizes or salsas so I feel the price hike is, in my eyes, justified. 3. The spot is always clean. The layout is a little awkward and it always seems dimly lit, but I never feel uncomfortable chowing down on my grub here. Decent food. Decent prices. People are pretty friendly. This location SUCKS at line management. It sounds like a silly complaint, but it becomes a major issue when you have 15 waiting for food, at various distances from the cash register. We all have to interact and ask if some people are in line, and whether they've ordered. Some people get offended by you assuming they've ordered. Others are casually talking next to the register, oblivious to the fact that they're causing confusion, and most employees probably have a "that's not my job to keep the line" attitude. Went here about 2 weeks ago. (Was too busy at work to post at the time but decided to do so now.) The double chicken tostada salad is always absolutely delicious. Had a better experience this time around with the curbside pickup service as their online link to alert the employees know that you have arrived at the restaurant is now working again. Got my food in less than 5 minutes so definitely did not have to wait long to eat. I sat outside in the car so the ambience was not bad. Lol. Just play some good tunes and enjoyed my food. To summarize, I would give this place negative stars if I could, but Yelp is generous to places like these, and requires a minimum of 1. Service is a word these people do not know the definition of here. And unfortunately, their food doesn't even make up for the service. To explain, I left my phone on the table of this store. Admittedly, my mistake. But I knew I left it there and I was coming back quickly. Called if they had found it, barely 2 minutes after I exited the place, the woman working the counter said no. "Okay" I thought, maybe they just are too busy to leave the counter and look for a phone that is on the table literally right next the cooking area. I get it fine. Regarding the food, what we ordered (beef quesadilla, street tacos) didn't live up to their name either. The quesadilla was mostly plastic cheese and no beef, with its only redeeming quality being that it was cooked, and therefore (most likely) not poisonous. The chicken in the tacos were so well-done they were powder and bland, even after soaking up all the sauce I added, perhaps to prevent any minute possibility that it may still have salmonella at its normal readiness. Best part about this though? "Someone" actually "sold it"! You know how I know? We called my phone multiple times, and this guy picked up eventually and claimed someone sold it to him. They then basically held it for a ransom of $60. BEST PART. On the call with the shop the girl behind the counter literally recognized me and told me what I ordered. Meaning they knew where I sat. Suspicious. So we asked to see the security footage, considering I don't like the feeling of having my phone ransomed and I'd like to know who allegedly took my phone and sold it. The people behind the counter vehemently refused. When we then asked to see the owner to request the security footage (again, to see who took my phone and sold it, allegedly, not to give the store any unjustified trouble), they said, "No, cant let you see the owner." "Okay why?" "I just can't let you see the owner." Excuse me. What. They didn't even bother to think of an excuse. But nah. Nah. JUST CAUSE I CAN'T. The entire experience is very suspicious, so if you do come here, I'd advise you play close attention to your belongings. read more

I will no longer support El Pollo Loco business in Hacienda Heights. Lousy service and poor customer service. Today I visited El Pollo Loco in Hacienda Heights. After spending over 20 dollars buying PL food. I saw a sign at the counter offering FREE chips and guacamole for downloading a PL App. The sign said download the app and you get free chips and guac. I downloaded the app. When I asked the cashier for the chips and guacamole, she blew me off by telling me to speak with the manager. Upon approaching the manager, I showed him the app that I had downloaded on my phone, and then the manager told me in Spanglish that I had to purchase food to qualify for the free chips and guac., and that I also needed a barcode. I showed the manager his own EPL sign (no mention of purchase necessary nor a barcode requirement.) It is so sad to see that after El Pollo Loco receiving so much help in COVID-19 recovery funds from taxpayers, that the manager from this EPL would show such a lack of appreciation and customer service over some chips and guacamole that only cost EPL a few cents. These people need to take a class on Kindness and Customer Service. I choose to be happy, but I will never visit this restaurant again! read more

I love EPL because it's an easy go-to for quick relatively "healthier" alternative to other fast food. But customer service at this location was very bad, and it came from the manager Veronica. Purchased a menu item, but was charged more than the price that was posted. It was a nominal difference, About 80 cents before tax. No big deal, but called to their attention so they can fix the board. But instead of admitting their menu board was wrong or lacked the right info, she kept insisting the system price that was rung up was correct. What was disappointing was that she was full of attitude, rolling eyes and the shear lack customer service. She could have easily accept that the pricing was different, simply apologize for the confusion, and take note to fix for future customers. Though she gave the refund, she did so in a very condescending way with rolling eyes. When asked for her name, she said it's Veronica and I'm the manager. I was blown a way that a manager would act that way. I don't know how she got to that position but she sure needs more training on customer service! read more

Extremely clean, the staff is constantly cleaning the sauce station and tables as soon as they see it dirty. There are no extra sauce cups out of place or straw wrappers on the floor. The thing that really impressed me is the manager coming around to each table to personally thank everyone for coming and offering wetnaps and salt/pepper. That added a really nice touch. Although I do agree the portions are on the smaller side, the flavor is there. Parking can be a hassle since the spots are super tight fit, but there's plenty of parking behind the buildings. Don't know about the bad reviews because, my experience here is a good one. And I'd be the first to trash this place! There is always a young ladie cleaning the floors, windows, or refilling the condiments bar. Tables, bathroom, and even the fountain dispensary counter is clean. So, I like that. The employees are always super sweet and helpful which, shocks me because; I've ran into some very rude workers before. I have never encountered bad employees or service at this pollo loco. I always order the (3) piece breast and wing with broccoli and black beans so good. The chicken breast are huge but the wing is tiny. It's all good because everything is cooked to perfection. The broccoli is fresh and the beans are tasty. My drink is always Mango ice tea and its the bomb. I'm so impressed with this pollo loco I had to comment on it.
