Love the Chicken avocado bowl however, I dislike the fact that they call this bowl "Chicken avocado bowl" but only give you two slices of avocado Although I asked for extra avocado.. this bowl should've been called "Chicken and Bean bowl" because they pack it with so much beans! nevertheless, this bowl is delicious. Provides a variety of yummy flavors from Spanish rice, seasoned chicken, delicious corn, beans, cheese, pico de Gallo, sour cream, and Avocado. It comes with tortillas but I get their chips instead and use it to scoop up the food.. their chips are sooo delicious! Exceptionally salted and doesn't break easily when scooping up the food! I am so lucky that there is an El Pollo Loco near by me for many years! I have gone here pretty often since I was young. My family has had their fair share of 12 Piece Family Meals with all the sides. My ultimate favorite was always the churros! This place has always been one of our go to places because its such an easy choice for a filling, satisfying family dinner. I must warn you -- the drive thru lines can get pretty long and stretch out all the way out of the driveway and wraps around the corner. Prepare yourself for this!! When I come here, I usually get the Double Chicken Tostada salad! This is always my go to as its a very full salad that comes with lettuce, chicken, avocado, sour cream, and pico de gallo. The salad sits pretty in a very light, flakey tostada bowl. This is truly the best part of the whole thing! Its like having your own bag of chips at your disposal, but of course, its in the shape of a bowl! Im a huge texture person, and the tostada bowl texture never fails! Today. however, I saw something new on the menu that caught my eye. It was the Quesadilla Dos Locos Salad. It basically looked like the Double Chicken Tostada salad minus the tostada but add cheese quesadilla. Another thing about me, is that I love cheese quesadillas...so when I saw this option for the salad I knew I had to get it! Before leaving the drive thru, I made to do my double check that all the containers for the food that I ordered were in there -- just to be safe! However, I didnt notice until I got home that they actually forgot chicken on my salad! I was a bit sad because I was looking forward to have some chicken so it wasnt just a plain salad with quesadillas. Thankfully, I was able to call in and got helped immediately by Teresa. I explained to her my situation and without hesitation, she said "Yes, come back anytime and we'll replace the salad for you no problem!" Teresa was super nice on the phone and quick to address the issue! I am super thankful for that as mistakes can happen especially when it comes to fast food! No worries! I don't know what going on with El Pollo Loco lately. The staff act like they own the place. You ask them for lemon, salt or some sauce and they give you 1. So Stingy. Also the portions vs the price lately, not good. The value is going down. Look at what I got for $15.78. A small burrito, a small mashed potato and a drink. This isn't good at all. It's sad because this place has been one of my favorite places to eat, but I believe management is slowly killing the value and business of the place. You guys need to make some changes. This is mom's call via another generous East Bay friend. Not crossing the bridges for over sixteen months, I am fortunate to enjoy this popular chain restaurant in the comfort of my family's home. I saw a commercial for the tostada and had to have it. There aren't too many locations. This may be the reason it was so crowded. The drive thru line had cars all the way to the street so I decided to order inside. It made no difference, the inside was just as busy. There was a security guard at the door. I don't consider the location to be in a dangerous area. But I welcome the added security. The dining area is immaculately clean!! No sticky floors or dirty tables nor chairs. The place is well kept. It took me about 10 min to get to the front of the line. Another 15min for my food. I didn't mind the wait, but don't bother coming here if you are in a rush. No need in upsetting yourself and giving the workers a hard time for something they can't control. The food is made fresh, which takes time and it's a lot of patrons. My food was delicious. Fresh. The chicken is always prepared consistently and I am fond of the salad bowl they offer. There always seems to be at least a few parking spots everytime I have attended. They seem to have closed off the section for preparing more salsa but they have been hospital about giving a little extra within reason. The only negative comment is that they are consistently missing one or two items on take out orders. The people that are responsible for assembling the orders do not properly take inventory and bag everything. I very sorely regret not checking our order before leaving. I always give them the benefit of the doubt which is a mistake on my end. Its VERY common for them to forget the flour tortillas or one or two of the sides. I like the convenience and I hardly have to wait very long for service but I just wish I could trust them with my orders. I wish there was some way I could get reimbursed. However, when I opened the bag, I saw my meal and saw 3 pieces of chicken... tiny pieces! The two drumsticks looked like they came from a baby chicken. Covid has really ruined all my favorite restaurants. I order on my app all the time for pick up usually we can go inside but if it's after ten we have to wait in the drive thru line that can be out the street sometimes. My husband went for me this last time and waited over 45mins. Once he got to the window no one came to talk to him for another 10 mins. Once he finally got my food home the salad was nothing like I ordered. It had shredded lettuce. I've never seen a salad like that before and it's definitely not what I ordered. It wasn't until the last few years that I gave El Pollo Loco a try. For some reason, whenever I got a fixin for some quick chickin, I headed straight to Popeye's. To me now, I put them in a completely separate side category than fried chicken spots. This is more like a Mexican restaurant that serves fire grilled chicken. I think their portions are ok, I usually am disappointed upon receiving, but am left satisfied in the end. Prices are about right and I usually feel I get good value. I like the salsa bar and feel they have respectable offerings. I lean towards the green / avocado or pico de gallo for my preference. I usually get the mash and gravy with a veggie like corn. They are fine. The chicken itself is rather tasty. Grilled proper while still juicy. Their seasonings are spot on. I think it was here that the side of tortillas made sense to me, it's like an american side of bread I guess. It fits here for some reason. Restaurant is always crowded, but they are extremely efficient, especially considering the amount of staff they have. Have yet to do their drive thru. read more

Chicken was crispy and flavorful. You can order a 2 or 3 piece plate comes with 2 sides and tortillas. Kids meals are small so the bowls would feed a 5/6yr old but not enough food for a 10yr old. Salsa bar was good but very messy after the lunch crowd...they just need someone tending to that and wiping down tables. Got some churros for the kiddos and they enjoyed all of their meals as did I.
