Not bad at all! Our first time ordering from Grub Hub. The food arrived hot and fresh as it was made and was not cold in any way. They do give you lots to eat. My burrito looked bigger than most places that served up Super Burritos. Did not take that long to arrive. But glad we tried out something different for a change. One of the few places to get good Mexican food, including faves like a burrito bowl (that's not from Chipotle) and a hot cheeto burrito. There's plenty of vegetarian options, as well. I've only been here twice after phoning in an order for take out and have been extremely happy both times! The hot cheeto burrito is out of this world! Spec-taco-lar food! Hayward is very lucky to have a more formal location for this awesome Mexican food spot. I believe La Chaparrita had a food truck for several years with a strong following in Hayward; but, they now have a brick and mortar location here at 44 W. Tennyson. Take that as a great sign their food is tasty. So far I've tried their tacos, burrito bowl, and quesadillas. I have been extremely impressed with the freshness and taste of the food here compared to other Mexican restaurants (especially the chain spots like Chipotle). The tacos were so tasty I barely blinked a few times before they were gone; the quesadilla impressed me with the quality and taste of the meat (I ordered carne asada). Not to mention, the portions were more than adequate for leftovers. 400% I am going back to try their other options such as the hot Cheeto burrito. To start this review off I just want to say that when it comes to Mexican food specifically I am very picky, i've lived in Hayward for years and so many people till this day will recommend Senaida's, which is right down the street but I really believe that people only go there because it's drive-thru and convenient. I say that because I've been there three different times and got three different dishes and I've never been impressed by their food, I decided to try this place and oh my gosh I've found my Oasis! This is what I've been looking for, One of the meat was greasy and the beans are made just the way my Nana makes them! Finally got the chance to try this place out, and it was pretty good! I've been looking for a hot Cheetos burrito, and this one hit the spot. We ordered two burritos one hot Cheetos with Asada the other super burrito(my partner enjoyed this) with asada as well. The beef was a bit chewy but only in a few spots, so the texture was really the only issue I had. This is for the taco truck. I got back home and we were missing 6 tacos out for the 24 we ordered. And when we called to try to give a refund, they can't do it over the phone. "We aren't suppose to do that" Well, you're not suppose to have horrible customer service and you're also not suppose to miss 6 tacos. We ordered $95 dollars worth of food which were 24 tacos and 2 quesadillas. After nicely asking for extra salsas, the cashier, rolled her eyes at me. After purchasing 95$ worth of food and 24 tacos I'm pretty sure it's normal to ask for some extra salsas. After she rolled her eyes at me, I asked firmly but nicely, "did you just roll your eyes at me?" We basically come here once a week and about order $95 dollars worth of food. I called to talk about the interaction and they said they would talk to her, however, after asking for her name.. they hung up on me. I have had good interactions except for this lady who is 98% the cashier. What a sad life you live if you must roll your eyes on a simple request. Pathetic. I was so disappointed when I came, The service was not good. I got a super taco and it was more like a regular with just A but if beans, cheese and aguacate!! Definitely killed it. Kept passing this place by, its right next to Senaida's up the next block facing Tennyson Rd, they are usually setup in front of the restaurant with the taco stand. Pulled up and tried some tacos, the beef (carne asada) tacos were great, $3 each, would definitely order these again. The Birria taco was pretty good, fyi they do not come with consume (not a big deal to me), although its larger in size than the regular tacos they are bit pricey (as is the trend for birria tacos) at 5 bucks pop, I would say they are overpriced, I only had one and it was pretty filling. The chicken tacos to me were not the move, semi shredded with bigger chunks of dark meat and kind of dry, I wasn't digging the pollo asado flavor that much, something is different about the chicken but that might just be me being picky. Service is friendly, they might be busy when you walk up but they prepare your order pretty quick once placed. They give a very small amount of salsa, literally more plastic than salsa. I like to spice up my meal so I had to negotiate with her to get a couple extra gotas of green salsa, by the way the greens salsa is good. I will be back here in near future to explore more of the menu, for now I will say its a convenient and worthy addition to the local Taco supply chain. read more

We decided that for our regular Wednesday lunch we would try out the new little Mexican restaurant by the railroad track. Not that many trains go by so the railroad track is not a problem. The food is delicious and generous, and the prices are I think the best in the area. I hope our neighbors will all come out and support this locally owned restaurant.
