We usually go to Hang Ten, but they closed down the one that was at Southland. I looked around and found Lemon Crab. They had everything we were looking for and it was super close by! I ended up ordering online through Yelp and it was a very smooth process. When we got there to pick up our order, the staff were super friendly. We told them that we had an online order to pick up and it was already waiting for us. Everything was sooo amazing! The flavors were delicious and it was not bland or too salty. I really wanted to like this place but it was just okay. Not bad but just alright. My friend and I went to explore Hayward randomly on a Saturday. It was on one of our places to check out after seeing an influencer go here. It's a small restaurant with limited seating outside but plenty of parking outside. We got clam chowder, white rice, and combo #1 with shrimp head on, crawfish, and clams (extra $2) with lemon crab medium spicy sauce. Service was just okay. It was hard to flag them down even though it's not a big space. The clam chowder wasn't very hot. It was cool at the top and a bit warm at the bottom. Small little hidden shack that actually does a decent job with the spicy seafood in a bag concept. The place does look nicer than when it used to be a Filipino resto years ago. They only have less than 10 tables, so this isn't a big place. I wouldn't take more than 4 peeps here. But for locals, take-out is a viable option as the seafood in the bag is sealed pretty tight and stays warm and juicy. Combo #2 ($99ish after tax/4*) This is one of their bigger combos, it fed 4 of us with a bit of leftovers. So not cheap, but seafood is rarely cheap, especially these days. But this combo has a pound of crab legs, choice of snow or dungeness. I chose the later and I felt there were a nice amount in there, some loose legs and even about 2-3 clusters of legs + body. It felt like the crab was frozen at some point as I can just tell by the texture. But it is so soaked into the spicy butter sauce that everything absorbs quite nicely. You get to choose also a pound each from their other choices and I got head-on shrimps and clams. The shrimps were also a bit too mushy for me, as I love firm textured shrimps that pop when bitten into. But again it is so soaked into that sauce that everything was still quite tasty. The clams were small manilas. All of them fresh and tasty, not a bad one in the bunch. And when these open up, that same sauce is inside each clam and the bites are so harmonious. Spicy, briny, buttery, chewy, loved it. I didn't really scope their sauce flavors/options, I just said 'cajun' over the phone in a 'medium' heat level. And even though the cajun flavor was there, it tasted like a mashup of Cajun and Sichuan. Maybe some asian spices got thrown in, maybe even some sichuan peppercorns as the heat here kinda had a numbing heat. I've never had that before from a seafood boil, but it kinda works as my mouth was zinging in a good way. There were also some big red potato chunks that were satisfying, some corn cobs and some sliced pork sausage that were just meh to me. I also felt they could have added some lemon slices into the bag during the cook as it would have added a nice citrus background that always wants to be with seafood. They do give fresh lemon slices on the side, but just felt it would have been more impactful being in the cook. Just a preference. I wouldn't mind in trying a few more items from their menu, and/or try another sauce flavor like lemon pepper. They have some fried items, seafood sandwiches, crab fried rice and garlic noodles. We dropped in Saturday around 6:40pm and it wasn't busy. The sauce is on watery side. But the taste isn't quite like clawshack and crawdaddy, which are my favorite places. But it's passable if I'm craving seafood boil near my home. We ordered the #3 combo. Added on the clams for $2 and they are big here. The seafood isn't cooked with the sauce since the sauce isn't inside the crawfish and shrimp. Seems like they cook seafood and sauce separately. The crab was missing the sweet, fresh taste. I didn't try the clam chowder but from what I heard it seemed a little over salted.. The fried calamari though was quite delicious and was nice to dip with the sauce that the crab combo came out with. The garlic noodles were small but very flavorful and quite delicious. We didn't get a fork though, but we were all dressed up for the seafood boil in bibs and gloves though so that one is understandable! The flavor of the crabs and combo assortment was very well seasoned. Although the shrimp tasted a bit frozen, the flavor of the boil was great and I enjoyed the corn and potatoes it came with. It was a lot of food but also a little on the pricey side for me. It is definitely enjoyable though on on occasion. Side note: I tried to use the bathroom when we first arrived but the toilet was clogged. They were quite busy at the time, but I told the service staff about it and went again at the end of the meal and they serviced it quite quickly, which was a plus. Lemon crab easily is my all-time favorite restaurant for their cajun garlic shrimp rolls! I'm not a huge fan of seafood boils so I've never tried the actual seafood boil here, but their shrimp rolls are incredibly tasty, packed with shrimp, and worth the trip here just for that. read more

To say the food was delicious is an understatement. The seasoning on the crab boil was spot on it was thick almost like a gravy really paired well with all of the components in the bag. We also had the garlic noodles with chicken and that is enough to be a meal unto itself. The noodles were delicious and is a must order. I also had the fish poor boy and it a robust sandwich that could easily be shared with two people. The service was very attentive and friendly and made you feel welcome. This is a hidden gem in Hayward and you will be happy that you found it. While the restaurant is not very big it is clean and comfortable and I liked the music selection they were playing and I am looking forward to coming back here soon. read more

Went here around 2ish pm on a Thursday, pretty small place, limited tables so I imagine there would be quite a wait if it was during peak hours, but there was nobody when I came, plenty of parking when you turn in the lot, but I could see how filled it could be. We got sat and the menus are already on the table, I got a Pacifico, garlic noodles, and a seafood combo #1 with clams, mussels, and shrimp with head on. Seen on social media they have lobster rolls, and I love lobster rolls and a plus they give you not one but two lobster rolls. So much bang for your buck, I had garlic curly fries as my side. My daughter ordered a seafood bag and added corn and potatoes. The food was so good, we really enjoyed our lunch. The restaurant is cozy and welcoming. it was me and my girlfriends first time coming here. customer service was okay they were friendly but not checked in on enough. we got the combo #2 with snow crab legs, shrimp head on and shrimp head off with corn, potatoes and sausages; it was delicious we got the lemon crab sauce medium level . it was good and we had leftovers. we got a side of garlic noodles, i have had them before and they are still good. we also got the lemon pepper wings and they were fire!!! everything was so hot and fresh didn't have to wait too long. the only downside is it's really small inside. overall 8.5/10. we will definitely be back! read more

This place is amazing. The deep fried crab is delicious and the breading on it is almost like salt and pepper crab with a Cajun twist. We asked for sauce on the side, and it was $7 but came out in a large to go container, so the leftover was good enough to take home and freeze to enjoy later. The crab boil with "all 3" sauces is also so good, medium spice is perfect spice level and a true medium. Crab always tastes fresh and has plenty of meat on the clusters. Garlic noodles are so good, and the fried rice is the best my partners ever had. Service is friendly and inside is small, and low key. About 5-6 tables total so I can see this place having long waits during peak times. Lucky for us, we've gone for lunch on weekends and it's not so busy. Yum! I came here with a friend because she really loves seafood boils and no one ever wants to go with her. We ordered two combos and the garlic noodles. I really came here with no intentions of eating the garlic noodles but they were so good I couldn't stop eating them. We've been to Lemon Crab twice now and it's quickly becoming our go-to spot for crab. My partner and I have tried a ton of crab places around the Bay Area, from Cajun spots like Boiling Crab and Kickin' Crab to fried crab favorites like PPQ and R&G Lounge. We love both styles but usually lean more toward fried. At first we were skeptical since the place reminded us of Crabby Crabby in San Leandro, where the fried crab was so heavily battered it tasted like fried chicken. But Lemon Crab turned out way better. We tried the Dungeness Cajun crab with their Lemon Crab House sauce, which is a mix of all their sauces. Honestly, it's one of the best Cajun sauces I've had. It's thick enough to coat the crab but not overly oily. It still gives that buttery flavor without being greasy. We got it medium spicy and the heat level was perfect. We also tried the Dungeness fried crab and it was delicious. The batter was light and crispy, not heavy at all, and had a nice Cajun kick. We dipped it in a side of the Lemon Crab House sauce and that combo was amazing. That's probably going to be our usual order now. The fried rice was another standout. I'm picky about fried rice and this one had great flavor without being too salty or dark. We got the chicken version and I actually liked it more than beef. The chicken was slightly battered and fried, which gave it a great texture. We also tried the garlic noodles. My partner liked them. I thought they were just okay. Finally had a chance to eat at Lemon Crab on 11/22, and it didn't disappoint. It sits in the back portion of a building on Mission in Hayward, just before Highland Blvd. There's plenty of parking in the back. The restaurant is small but has a few tables--ideal for parties of four or fewer. They also handle a significant number of "to-go" orders. There were two of us, and we were seated right away. The team working there is great--very accommodating, polite, and engaging. They have a decent-sized menu that includes plenty of items beyond the boils. We ordered 2 pounds of crawfish with boiled eggs and corn in the Lemon Crab sauce (hot), plus 1 pound of head-on shrimp (mild) with a side of rice. The crawfish were frozen, but the restaurant was upfront about it since they're not in season. Totally fine. The food was cooked well--steaming hot--and the sauce, a mix of all their flavors, was really delicious. I wish the "hot" had been hotter, but I'll definitely try their hottest level next time. If you read this in the next few days, they're running a bunch of specials. We didn't partake, but they had lobster and Dungeness crab deals. It's dangerous knowing that this is close by me because it's so so good! I would typically drive down to my spot down in Milpitas but that was just too much to keep driving down there. Luckily I decided to check this spot out and it's just as good. This spot is pretty tucked in next to the Hayward Plunge, but it's painted pink so it's not sooooo hard to miss. The service is quick and food is amazing. The employees there are legit. The woman who took my phone order, I believe she's the owner since she's the one telling the cooks what she needs and what needs to be sent out. I can call the restaurant for my order, drive to get it and by the time I walk in, she asks me if I called about 15 mins or so, and she quickly moves to get my order in and out. The sauce there isn't salty, and the quality of the seafood is fresh! Like all seafood spots, it can be pricey so my sister and I try to go so often but we loooove supporting small businesses! This is my 2nd time here but first time reviewing this place. The first time I came here, it was for dinner and they just opened. I remember that the service was really good and food was decent. However I don't appreciate hidden fees I got charged a 15% service fee and was told because I dined in... it wasn't a huge party it was just me and my wife but I can't believe they hit me with such a huge fee with no signage or anything. Meh, food was mid, to be honest. Boyfriend and I ordered the combo #1. I'm pretty critical about how seafood is cooked, especially shrimp and crawfish. We got 1lb each of shrimp with head, crawfish, and mussels. The combo also came with one corn, some potatoes, and some sausage. The shrimps were mushy. The crawfishes were all mixed with either some fresh big ones to small frozen ones for sure. Quality was severely lacking. The only upside was that the mussel meat was good. Sausage was also lackluster. Don't even get me started on the sauce. It was sub par. And didn't have flavor that you would want in a Cajun style. It mostly was like butter and garlic? And some heat because we got hot. The only saving grace to the food was the deep fried Dungeness crab legs. The crab meat was very fresh and we loved the batter on them. I'm guessing the crab is their only best seafood, hence why it's called lemon CRAB. Service was good, really nothing to complain about. We didn't really need much assistance anyway.
