The food at this particular el pollo loco is not great. I gave them 3 stars because the burrito we ordered was good. The bowls were not great at all. The chicken seemed under cooked which made for a bad tasting bowl all together. The drive through was fast and efficient. Now if the cooks could get it together it has the potential to be 5 stars. All too often the young lady working the drive thru window is trying to hold several conversations at once while taking your order. The reason for me giving this a 1 star is because their management, customer service and employees and absolutely horrible. Everyone one there is very rude and are always in a bad mood. No one is happy or has a smile on their face. One thing, that I don't understand is how do they not know the difference between salsa and salsa roja. I always ask for salsa roja and they give me house salsa which is pico de gallo. Salsa roja is the spicy one and it blows my mind that I have to be very specific with what salsa I want when they only have 3. It's ridiculous and when I check my bag to make sure I get the salsa I want, I don't. So I ask again to get salsa roja and they still manage to give me pico de Gallo, and they get mad when I tell them. We have been here a few times. It's normal fast yet ok food. It gets 3 stars because of the chicken piece sizes. We ordered 2 of the family meals plus another 10 piece meal. The order was 53 dollars. That would have been fine but when we got home I noticed the legs were very small. The chicken is not inexpensive here. It ends up being a dollar a piece and our 2 year old ate 3 pieces of the legs, and she is a lite eater. As I write this I want to change it to 2 stars but I will leave it at 3. If I could leave 0 stars, I would. Tonight we went through the drive through, and the team member was so rude! First, she asked if I was done yet after every item I ordered. When I finally finished ordering, she asked again (very rudely might I add) and when I said yes she said "Finally." When I pulled up to the window she literally SWUNG the bag into my car! The meat on my tacos were all bunched into the corner of the plate and my bowls were mixed in because of it. I asked for salsas and when she was grabbing them I heard her tell her coworkers "They ordered the whole menu hahaha." Not to mention she didn't even put the salsas in the bag! The food quality was poor as well. The burritos were as small as my palms. The chicken inside was still pink! Came into this Pollo Loco late Sunday and I was very surprised ! I felt very welcomed and comfortable while the cashier was taking my order !! I'm almost positive this girl was new because she seemed so shy but she did her best to make sure I was taken care of ! It's always drive thru here, I've never been in the restaurant, so I can not talk about cleanliness etc.. There is one lady that tends drive thru, she is very nice, I love that she connects well with her customers, she is very helpful and polite, she looks at you straight in the eye and asks you how your day has been , and she makes you feel like she really cares , lol, she makes me really want to tell her ahahahaha!!! I really appreciate that and had to share ;) Now the food , well lately the chicken has been very dry!! Yuck! I don't like that at all, it doesn't always happen. Bad customer service!!!! While we ordered our meal they did not let us know ahead of time that they ran out of food . We ordered the 8 peace meal came with a free cake the least they can say is do is let us know that they didn't have it while we where handed our food sorry for the inconvenience. Us not knowing we walked in thinking she for got to give it to us. So we walked in and then says Oh! We ran out of cake but can offer some mashed potatoes!? So we decided okay thanks fine. Slowest drive thru ever!! And than when we got to the window we sat there for about 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us, and the lady came in the window because I actually flagged her down. I always tell my employees to communicate with the customers, a simple "I'll be right with you" makes a HUGE difference. Just to find out our food was in the bag right there the whole time so what were we waiting for? Food was tasty...but I feel it's important not to house your cold menu items with the hot ones...I.e place your salad in the bag with the chicken so by the time you get home everything is wilted. Well I have had my food orders go wrong befor but this takes the prize. I placed a order for chicken nachos. Shouldn't be to hard right? Wrong! Just went today, drive thru employee short changed me, by like $7.00 told her she seemed annoyed then she proceeded to short change me again by 1.00, I got out of the car went inside and spoke to the manager. Told him the last time my co worker came here the drive thru employee kept her ATM card and told her she did not have it.
