This was a great choice for lunch for our family. We were all full leaving and it didn't break the bank! Their burritos were packed full and so tasty! We got the brisket, the Rojo, and a fajita burrito. The kids split something else, can't remember. My mom loved her chicken fajita burrito and we were shocked at how much meat was in it! The peppers and onions were perfectly sautéed! My husband raves about the brisket, and I would order that next time! The Rojo was good- wasn't as spicy as some I have had, but still tasty! This place is very nice. The inside is very well done. It has a very modern feel to it. The glazed donuts are fantastic. They are much bigger then other donut shops' donuts. The Tortas are very tasty. My girlfriend forgot to say she didn't want avocados or onions on her Torta. When she went to buy another, they wouldn't hear of it and made her a new sandwich. I've been here a few times, all have been good experiences. I've had the pan dulce, tamales and homemade style tortillas. All have been wonderful however the tamales aren't on my top 5 list. We were very satisfied with the burritos we purchased here. Fresh tortillas delicious filling. Had picadillo, Chile Verde, huevos con tocino and a Chile relleno. Customer service depends on who you get at El Prado Bakery. I've been there twice. The first time I was impressed with a tattooed cholo looking guy. He was very helpful and friendly. The second time there there was a very rude, obnoxious guy. Not sure why they would employ someone like that. But the place has probably lost a few customers because of him. The place is very nice, modern looking and clean. I ordered a carnitas torta and my gf two tamales. The tamales were pricey and nothing special. The torta was big and very good. My gf went to ask for plates and they don't have any??? The torta was lacking salsa so she went and asked for some. The rude employee said next time ask for it when ordering because we charge for it. Seriously? You charge for salsa? Not extra salsa mind you, there was none to begin with. I know businesses are trying to make money any way they can but that's ridiculous. I would maybe go back if I was in the area but definitely wouldn't go out of my way for it. read more

Used to be my favorite spot down the street. They're always grinding it out here, so if you're getting back late they'll be open if you're desiring a burrito or a torta. The apple fritters are some of the largest I've ever seen. Often when it is not packed early on Saturdays my burrito will be delivered to the dining area rather than waiting for my name to be called. read more

We went to the bakery on Sunday afternoon to pick up some pastry. I was surprised that there were NO labels with what the product was and NO visible price. For someone who is not familiar with this bakery and Mexican bakery products, I was a little taken back. We ended up getting what looked like Danishes with cheese and some sort of jelly. When we bit into them at home, they tasted like whoever made them hadn't washed their hands after handling meat. The pastry was inedible, and we threw it out. We will not be going back. read more

Had to drop a star bc of my last two visits. I ordered a dozen tamales and when I got home they were still almost raw! Very disappointing but I could've let it go. THEN I went in a few days later(today) and I was the only one in the whole place and the cashier was very rude. I ordered a torta and grabbed a bag of chips. She asked if I wanted a drink and I said no thanks politely. She gave me a messed up face and when my order was ready she shouted across the floor SIRRR and shook the bag. The wife and I made menudo this morning and were on the search for some good bolillo or white bread, we remembered someone recommended us this place. We got 12 pieces of there "French bread" or bolillo, and let me tell you, the bread was warm and had a good flavor to it. It almost seamed as the bread melted in your mouth, with a nice crust on the outside. We did get some tamales as well and they were great! I went to this bakery to buy tamales after reading great reviews. I bought 6 rajas con queso and 6 rojo. As soon we opened the bag to start eating them there was a rancid smell coming from them. They smelled like sour milk. When we opened the rajas con queso you could smell that the cheese was bad and smelled sour. The red tamales were terrible as well we took a bite of one and ended up tossing them. They didn't really have any taste to them and smelled bad. Needless to say we ended up throwing the whole dozen away for the fear of getting sick. We will never be buying from this bakery again. What a waste of money! read more

I've ordered from here twice within the last two weeks. Both times they have been over an hour late on my order. I even called at 8am to make sure my cake would be ready by the requested time of 10am, they assured me it would be. Needless to say it was not, and my child's birthday party was delayed. I went there this week to order so pastries, same thing, waited for 40 minutes in the store on the day of pick up and then made them just give me whatever they had on the shelves because I was running late and this business doesn't understand how to get stuff done on time even when ordered several days in advance. I recommend you check the prices on your receipt against what this place publishes on their price tags. I've been overcharged on multiple occasions and the store personnel refuses to respect the advertised price. They say they can't do anything to fix the price cause it's not their fault. I have not been to a bakery that is held to a standard like El Prado is! It is very clean, always stocked with the freshest pan dulce, tres leche cake (my favorite) and drinks. That is one of many amazing qualities that this bakery has but the most outstanding one is the hard working associates running the store that are always making me laugh or just chatting it up making me feel part of the restaurant Ric and Jonathan are Always Yelling "Hey Eric How are you? or "Hey brother whats going brother?" every time i walk in and I am still astonished that remember me since they have tons of people in there every day So Shout out to them! My gorgeous little girl turned 1 on the 4th of Dec and a week prior while inside the bakery I was curious if they can make a cake for my baby and with out being surprised they quickly said "Heck Yea". I showed them a pic of a cute Cupcake cake and they were quick to take on the job! They asked "what kind of frosting, what kind of cake, what kind of filling?" I was at a loss lol So i said surprise me and they made the best strawberry cake for my little girl....but my baby didnt know what to do with besides swim in it lol! I have ordered a variety of burritos here and i have to say the mole, chile Relleno with cheese, barbacoa and the machaca with beans! Holy cow its is by far the best food in El paso! Every one is talking about Chicos tacos but that place is run down and the food is garbage to me to be honest. There has to be a set quality and standards in restaurants El prado has it! every day the food is made by hand and cook from fresh ingredients so you dont get the same taste twice but still have the amazing taste of the food you ordered So I can go as far as saying its a new food experience for me every day i walk in there but have the same friendly family atmosphere and very very reasonable priced food! If you decided to stay and eat well you can! there is a very spacious lounge area where the seats are plenty and the Novelas are playing on the T.V so both males and females are happy lol. This place is by far the one of many places in El paso that makes El paso great! Great job! Now as for Neil S. and his bad experience, You want to write a bad review because you didn't want to speak up, you jumped in front of a huge line and you felt in titled to do so because you are in the army or what ever your ego thinks you are allowed to do, You sir are WRONG! you would have not waited so long if you were in line! you talk about how you were ignored and felt discriminated it has nothing to do with that at all and to think that is Ignorant! You are a soldier in the army act like one! You want to wear a stupid star wars helmet and be taken serious? how ignorant of you! I don't care what you have done or you been through you should never degrade another hard working human being by throwing money at them wither it be on the counter on to they're face! Donuts are (usually) amazing. However, the last few times I've gone and gotten my favorite custard donuts...they have been without custard. When I first started going the custard was pouring out of the donuts, the past handful of times I've gone there was literally a teaspoon worth of filling. It's been happening with both the powdered sugar custard "filled" and chocolate sprinkle topped custard "filled".
