Everything I've had here is so good especially the fresh sweet bread and the menudo on the weekends.

My favorite panadería in El Paso so far! The best part is that you can grab a burrito or torta for bfast or lunch and get that pan for your cafecito to-go! It has the best menudo and pozole. very flavorful and just the right amount of spice. There is 2 ladies that provide poor customer service. I can't believe they charge you extra for a small salsa even when you purchase a burrito. They can't honestly be lacking money that bad. This lady took offense because I said that a salsa should come with any burrito purchase as if she was the one giving me 30 cents out of her own pocket. We decided to make the drive and give this place a try after we had heard that the menudo and posole are delicious! We decided to go yesterday for lunch as it was a perfect day for some hot soup! When we arrived, there was one customer paying and two employees manning the front. The inside was very clean as well as the glass where the bread is displayed in. The cashier looked at us and asked us if we were ready. I say no, that's it's our first time there and she walked away. The menu is well lit up as it is displayed on several TVs. I glanced over it to see the other food options but my mind was already set on some menudo! I go to order and I tell the lady that I want a bowl of menudo. She quickly snapped back at me that it's only served on the weekends along with their posole. UGHHHHHHHHHH WTH. The only reason I had made the trip here was for some souppppppppp!! After I threw a 3 second fit in my head I went ahead and just ordered a bistec torta and the hubby ordered a bistec burrito along with two drinks. Our total was about $13. We sat in the patio area (very big and clean) and waited for our food. Waited about 10minutes and it was finally ready! The food was given to us in a brown paper bag with a few napkins. My torta was pretty big and the meat was seasoned pretty good! It was very soggy though, so it ended up crumbling after I tried picking it up :( my husbands burrito was very little but he said the meat tasted good, just a little too spicy! The have no salsa bar and I saw a sign that you have to pay extra for it. We got a churro to go ($1.25) and it was very dry. The churro at Sam's club tastes better... A ton of bread is displayed along the wall under the tv without any covering.... I can't imagine how many flies land on it and have lunch throughout the day.. yuck... bread is probably dry though from it sitting out in the open like that.. This is a homestyle Mexican bakery that operates on a large scale. Tamales are insane. Burritos are delicious. Donuts are the perfect mix of savory bread dough with sweet frosting and/or filling. Meh. I come into the restaurant. The line loops all inside it so I stood waiting 20 minutes waiting my turn to order. There is water sprinkling down from the ceiling at several spots. I was afraid the air conditioning tubes would collapse on top of us since that's where the water was coming from. I order a Deshebrada a la mexicana burrito then headed to the second waiting area. Stood for another 7 minutes. The beef in the burrito was pretty good but I could barely find any Chile, tomate, or cebolla. Specially the jalapeño, it was pretty much non-existent so instead of this being "a la mexicana" it was more with "a hint of mexicana". read more

Craving pastries, we decided to check this location due to its proximity to our home. The bakery was empty when we went, on a Sunday night. Staff was very friendly and if paying cash, you are not charged credit card use. The bakery had a large variety of pastries, doughnuts, cookies, conchas and etc. They even offer tamales. Amazed by their variety we chose several pastries. Unfortunately out of the 10 we chose, only 2 were eatable. The doughnuts were good but everything else was disgusting. Im not sure if they clean the equipment when cooking but you could taste metal, hot sauce, meat and etc in the pAstries. Some of the pastries were even stale. Disgusting! Overall, I do not recommend the pastries here, this review is based solely on their pastries and they were not good. I would not return back, pastries are inexpensive but disgusting. read more

This place is really good. I go once a month on the weekends and order the Pozole. I used to be able to order it with extra meat and pay $3-$4 extra, however, one day I was told that they no longer do that because the leftover over portions were not even. I have tried a few of the bakery items as well. One thing I do not like is they do have the bakery items out on a shelf behind them, one fly landed on one of the pastries, so I would suggest some type of cover up, even a clear plastic wrap on the back bakery items. Other than that I will continue to go, customer service has been great to me and it's close to my home, I can't beat that! read more

I've had their sweet bread, burritos, tortas, flour tortillas, and barbacoa. I've had nothing bad to say about any of the things I have tried. The flour tortillas are the best when they are freshly made. The barbacoa is good and not oily. And their bread variety always leaves me wanting to come back to try new things. This place is a true hidden gem on the far east side of El Paso! Every time I'm in for the the holidays I have to stop by and stock up on the best Mexican style baked goods! Everything you get here is made fresh and has a quality about it you can't find just anywhere. I have to say there will be those old school "I only go to Bowie bakery" die hard fans but I'm slowly converting them one by one. My family doubted this place was that good until I brought them a variety of different breads and cookies and didn't say where they came from. To my surprise each one of them where asking by the next day where I had gone to get the sweets cause they had been devoured. Don't pass this place up just cause you aren't on the Far East side of El Paso! You might never have thought of trying anything from here but I'll say it is definitely worth it. El Prado bakery also makes scrumptious tortas and burritos. Plus they have menudo and posole all weekend but you have to get it while it's available cause it goes fast . Ugggggghhhh I find it hard to believe this place is owned by a Latino but I'm hoping I'm wrong. Welp customer was non existent homegirl with the tattoo got real upset that I had the audacity to request something I paid for with my hard earned money to be correct. I ordered a quesadilla and it was a waste of money very salty which leads to my tamale that was provided to me cold and salty I wasn't going to complain but I said to myself no I'm sorry I cannot for the life of me eat a cold freaking tamale so I decided to go back and let them know like hey this is cold not even warm it's cold that's where the attitude came in. I Ate here last night. My kids ordered 4 types of pastries. Also, order the red pork and chicken tamales, brisket burrito(1 of 5 flavors), and cookies. Everything tasted good for the most part. Average nothing special. Basically they claim to make fresh tortillas, but I'm not sure what their definition of fresh is. I was there after the morning rush to witness a truck unloading crates of prepackaged tortillas which really aren't that good. Uneven thickness and cooking to the point of one half paper thin to a slice of bread thick usually undercooked. I was doubtful upon first seeing the establishment as they only seem equipped to reheat and prepare ready made products so I wasn't that surprised to see the truck. I'm sure donuts and other products are of the same quality. Homemade doesn't come in a can either. I guess for the price it's good enough just make sure you catch them on a good day because their burritos range from a decent size to very slim depending on the cook or crowd I'm guessing. read more
