We yesterday with the wifey. We had a very good meal. Not sure why the rating is so low. We had Yuca Alcapurrias and Beef Empanadas for appetizers. Very tasty and freshly made. Our main course was Steak and Onions with Mofongo (not the best) and Carne Frita with White Rice and really good red beans. Would definitely go back. The service is a little slow, but not the worst I've had. The place does need a little makeover. The lighting is a bit dull. Need more lighting to make it livelier. read more

The food was outstanding, so here's my honest opinion the mofongo was not what I liked, so the texture of it reminds me of firmness of mofongo but tasted sorta of mangu. I just did not like it my husband said it was okay. Now what made it outstanding is the alcapurria de yuca filled with tasty ground beef was my Favorite. The rice and beans were delicious the beans are packed with flavor so good ! The steak and onions were really good the steak was tender too.. We will most definitely be back. So, for two drinks, two appetizers and two main dinners it was all $58 including tip for me it was way worth it and great price. Also the ladies here are very friendly and attentive. It's a whole in the wall so it's just okay they can do a better job with lighting that's important when it comes to dinner and ambience it gives off dark and slightly depressing not a good feeling when walking in. OK not gonna lie. This was a very different experience for me because this was a karaoke restaurant I guess on the night that I went I had a good time very family oriented. The food was yummy but a little oily the drinks taste good however, I can taste the cheap liquor. Our server was so overwhelmed. First time visiting this location looking for authentic Back home meals. It was pretty empty just 2 servers and 1 cooker. We order alcapurrias as starter and a passion fruit mojito, even tho it was some what empty it was taking bit longer , for meals we order a Mofongo with conch , shrimp, and octopus it was delicious however they only put 3 shrimps on the plate , also a Mofongo with chicken , skirt steak and fried Pork and again 3 shrimps. The second meal we thought it could be better the meats potions was very very small amounts but it was pretty good , not worth the actual price. Over all it was pretty good. For all items we pay 100$ which it was little more than expected. read more

I've been to this place a couple of times, all times the food has been really good with the exception of the white rice for some reason nearly every time it's been cold, next time I'll just make sure I order something they have to make to order. So I came here with high expectations because it's been talked about so much. That is the place to eat Alcapurrias, bacalaitos, empanadas all Puerto Rican fritters and more. Well, I was very disappointed. The only thing good that I came out of eating here was that I had a nice number 2. The food made me sick. The only good thing that I had there was the yuca empanada. I felt so rushed when I ordered that my order didn't come out right. The food was lukewarm. You can tell that they've been sitting there for a while which I think is why I got sick to my stomach. The pizza empanada was worse, it was bread and lightly sauced not even cheese. I don't recommend this place at all it's overrated. The alcapurria who is nothing special had hardly any seasoning. I always buy food from this restaurant as I love their food. But today I was very disappointed. I ordered pollo a la milanesa and I received a burned breaded chicken hidden under the cheese. I was at this restaurant today May 23, 2024 my self and some friends. The manager is always treating the waitresses wrong and changes policies everytime. The places is convenient close to our job and the service was good from the waitresses . Today the manager was upset and embarassed one of the waitress in front of us, about given us a table cause she wanted it. When we finish eating we asked to speak with the owner. 15 minutes went by. We then asked the waitress if the owner was there. She said yes he is coming soon. The restaurant was empty. We waited another 10 and when we askes a second time. The waitress went to the back and when she came said He is not coming. I asked is he is the manager she said he is the owner. I asked for the names of manager and also owner. The food is neutral. The waitresses are awesome. The "manager" Alejandra sits in one table all the time and doesn't help. Always with a very bad attitude. We moved from the table the waitress assigned us to the table beside and the manager yell at the waitress because we moved. I asked the manager if there was a problem and she said no. I asked the manager why she spoke to the waitress like that if there is not a problem with the table. The manager didn't have anything to say and walked to the back of the restaurant. It was very unprofessional the way the "manager" spoke to the waitress that wasnt even helping us. The owner Eduardo arrived. I asked to speak to him and he told the waitress to tell me that he was doing something at the back that he was going to come out in a few minutes. I waited 15 minutes and he never came out. The waitress then told me that he was not going to come out. No reason was given to us. Both "manager" Alejandra and "owner" Eduardo are awful providing customer service. This is a regular restaurant is not a WOW restaurant. We have been going there for the past 6 months because of the excellent service the waitresses give us. Went with friend and his mom visiting from out-of-town based on the good reviews. We weren't disappointed. Food was delicious! We got some of almost everything. I enjoyed the fried fish with mufungo and a Pina colada. It was fresh and authentic. Service was good. read more

The food and drinks was very good , delicious . Service was very good also but be aware of the extra charge on your credit or debit card once you use it . So if there's more then one card used it adds up ! Maybe next time I go I won't tip as well cause the Owner neeeds to let us know this or I would have given this place 5 stars . read more
