I will update this review when I get to try my food. I placed an order on Uber Eats (I was at work and had a short break). My order was confirmed and I paid. When I got to the business to get my order (literally as I'm pulling in) I get a notification that my order was cancelled. I go inside, ask about my order, the hostess pulls my order on the screen and then said Uber Eats was down. I reorder what I selected and they did not honor the price (despite her pulling my order) that I was quoted on Uber Eats. I'm sad because I was looking forward to this but I did not want to pay almost double the price and it felt like that's why my order was canceled. read more

Came here for the first time while on vacation. Definitely 10/10!! First, we started with some appetizers. We tasted the alcapurria and the tostones bites with chicken. The alcapurria was absolutely delicious, traditional Puerto Rican taste. Now the tostones appetizers were not my favorite. The chicken did not taste good. I personally will not order this again. As for the food, I ordered the pollo a la plancha with white rice and beans. Of course it was absolutely delicious and flavorful. I would say the chicken was a bit dry. It could use some sautéed peppers and onions next time. Other than that everyone else at the table thoroughly enjoyed their meals. When I'm in Florida, I will definitely come back. Beautiful restaurant - I wish I had taken more photos inside but the place was packed (a good sign) and I try not to take pictures of random families and post them online. With that said, the food was excellent and there's a ton to choose from - it's easy to get overwhelmed, but the thing I enjoyed the most was the service and how sweet our server was (I forgot her name, but she was always so sweet and patient with our family). There were tons of folks eating mofongo so I'm sure that's a fan favorite here. We tried a few appetizers, juices, rice and beans, and shared a large platter that had multiple options for the family since it was our first visit and we didn't know what to try first. The tostones rellenos de churrasco (skirt steak stuffed fried green plantains) were delicious and come with five little cups and a dipping sauce that I'm pretty sure was mayo/ketchup. They also put a little PR flag on top which my kids enjoyed playing with. This ended up being my main meal because I wasn't that hungry, and it was the perfect bite of crispy, salty, and creamy with the dipping sauce. We also tried another appetizer that I didn't try, alcapurria de carne, which comes with two rolls cut in half (husband enjoyed it) and the Assorted Pal Campo which comes with chicharon, fried yuca, chicharron de pollo, tostones, fried cheese topped with a sweet guava sauce (that my daughter was not a huge fan of - I would ask for it on the side next time), and sausage. Definitely a heavy meal - and I felt like I needed to eat salad for the next two days straight after this meal - but it was tasty. I came here with my mom to have drinks. The pina colada was creamy and my mom had a passion fruit drink that she said tasted so fresh. You also get to keep the cup, which for the price of the drink definitely is a nice touch. The aesthetic is also beautiful it's like a cute little PR. Every time we come to Orlando, this Puerto Rican restaurant is a must! We've been coming here for years, and it truly feels like being back to PR. From the moment you walk in, the service makes you feel like family, and the flavors are always on point. The decor is like the streets of old San Juan, which makes you feel more like at home. This time we had the crab alcapurrias, crispy bacalaitos, empanadillas de pulpo and tostones stuffed with octopus which were delicious. The octopus was incredibly tender, some of the best I've ever had. The kids' menu is another huge plus. For under $15, it includes a meat, two sides, a drink, and even a small dessert. My daughter had chicken tenders with arroz con gandules and fries, and the whole meal was about $11. It is a great value, especially in the Disney/Orlando area. The drinks are great too, very generous pours just like when you visit the island ;) We don't have any Puerto Rican restaurants where we live, so this place is always a special reminder of home. Came here on a whim on a Friday night. Parking was full but not too hard to snag a spot. Came in and were told the wait is 50 minutes. Since we drove 40 mins to be here we decided to wait at the bar. Ordered some drinks with the souvenir cups. Although it was served with too much ice, it was made delicious and strong. After 50 minutes we were seated at our table . We ordered the groups appetizer. That took another 20-30 minutes but oh man was it worth it. The best Puerto Rican food we have had in year. Flavorful, fresh and wow! Wepa!!! So good. Our waitress wasn't thw most personable but she served us with no issues. Then the music started and made the night even better. The drinks were good. A bit pricey for the amount of ice but I guess it is in a touristy area. We would come again maybe during earlier times not to wait so long. The Latin music was awesome and played at enjoyable volume. You can really tell the food is made fresh, and it makes all the difference. The beef empanadas appetizers were yummy! Decided to take a little day trip to Orlando to hit up a Filipino bakery, and afterward I wanted to take my peoples somewhere good to eat. My homegirl, Rosie recommended this spot, so we decided to give it a try--and honestly, the food was amazing. The vibe was great too. They even had entertainment while we were there, which made the whole experience even better. The downside was my friend's pork chunks was over cooked and that our waitress wasn't very friendly, and we had to wait a while to get refills on our drinks. My family and I stopped to dine in while on vacation. Our large group of 10 was sat within the first 10 minutes of entering the restaurant. The place is beautifully decorated, great island music played at all times, making it suck a vibe. Staff was amazing and very accommodating. Great Puerto Rican restaurant serving authentic dishes while with a real aesthetic of the island. Complete with famous boxing murals, tropical feel and a live band. We were a party of 4 and were seated at a small table in the bar area. There were several people celebrating their birthdays and they had the whole restaurant singing and celebrating with them. It was truly such a nice atmosphere. We ordered cocktails and then had the crab alcapurria (they were okay but wish they had more crab) then we had the bacalaitos which were heaven. I think I would've been happy with just orders of these. Perfect crunch and filling and just taste was amazing!! Was in town for a work conference and wanted some great puerto rican food and I'm so glad I found this close by. The service was great, the restaurant decor is unique and traditional, and the food was absolutely delicious. I started with the crema de malanga because I love all sorts of soup and this isn't one I find often. It was good, but the star of the show for me was the stuffed mofongo with pollo al ajillo. I subbed the mofongo for trifongo actually as the bartender mentioned it was available and I'm so glad I did. It was perfect - not at all dry like I've experienced at other places, and the flavor was on point. The staff continued to check in on me and make sure I had anything I needed even while running around tending to more busy tables and I appreciated the kindness and attentiveness. Read till the end. I wanted to love it, I really did. We are visiting from Ft. Lauderdale for the experience. Pros: the place is pleasant to the eyes as soon as you walk in. We were really excited and took a lot of pictures. Beautiful restaurant and food tastes really good. Terrible Cons: 1) Bathroom had roach and bathroom is right next to the kitchen. I notified the bartender & girl at the front but they seem unbothered. I was told the manger would come talk to me and she did towards the end but seemed more bothered than anything. I showed her the video/offered to share it with her so she can show the exterminator company, she apologized and said they exterminate either twice a week or twice a month (can't remember if it was week or month but she did say twice but either way that would mean they have a pest control problem. 2) Waitress was very kind however please note the tip is already included. I gave extra tip because I wasn't told this at the MOMENT of signature. She then told me it was included and told me she would not argue with me over tip and gave me back $20 in cash. I didn't appreciate that because I was not being mean. 3) felt like I was being stared down as we were leaving as if we had done something wrong. I do not feel comfortable coming back. I came here with some family that were in town, and from the moment you step inside you are transported to Puerto Rico. They had live music, which was great. It is a louder restaurant, so little kids might find it overstimulating. The service was pretty good, especially since the restaurant was super busy. Since I don't eat meat, they offered to make me a vegetable mofongo. It was pretty good, and a huge portion. It came topped with a yummy garlic sauce. My family all enjoyed their food as well. With high expectations and anticipation we couldn't wait to come to what we thought was our favorite restaurant......,. previously i'd given rave reviews and 5 We went on Sunday July 27 for dinner. Unfortunately if I could i'd give this restaurant a fat zero . Don't know what happen to the food from last yr. Everything was gross and wrong.., For starters we walked in there so happy said Good Evening and not one response. 4 ppl on staff were at the counter we asked to be seated in the bar area no one responded they looked at us and started laughing and speaking in spanish . immediately in my mind Poor customer service and we should've left. we waited 15 minutes before we were acknowledged at our table Not a glass of water...finally a gentleman takes our drink order. after we do get drinks it's another 30 minutes before our order was taken keep in mind the place wasn't that busy. Finally our order is taking and that was another 1hr30 min later food arrived with my husbands meal first The chalata kan kan rice and beans the meat was pink inside yuk! you can't make this up ! my dinner Steak with chimichurri sauce and beans took another 15 minutes of course we're like We did order together?? to make matters worse my steak looked like a small piece of burnt leather covered in Onions yes i asked for onions but this was a over kill of onions on such a mini steak that taste like rancid dry overcooked meat. I sent it back they presented me with another which only took them about 10 minutes to prepare but smelled and tasted horrible worse than the first. But now I'm thinking what in the heck took so long to bring out the first order if this second steak only took 10 minutes. We watched several ppl come after us and received their drinks and dinner and a party of 6 that all received their food. We spoke with the manager but we were just disappointed and felt disgusted at the level of unprofessionalism and the lack of presenting food that we waited over 1hr30 min to not be edible is unacceptable on every level. We came with reservations for 16 for a birthday party.We were seated at a reasonable time, ordered drinks and it took over an hour to get the drinks. We did bring a birthday cake made by mom, and were told No outside food so they took the cake away. We asked for the manager and she wanted to sell us a cake for $19.99, and would not allow our cake, are you serious? Now, 1hr 15 min later, took our orders. There seemed to be one waiter for the entire restaurant and he did a good job. Appetizers came in a few minutes and the food came within 30 min. Just a couple miles from I-4 in a small strip mall, Pal Campo is simply adorned on the outside with "Latin Cuisine". Upon entering, you are transported to Puerto Rico! The decor and atmosphere makes you feel like you're in old downtown Puerto Rico. There's a side room with the bar that has a strong Christmas theme with small decorated trees hanging from the ceiling. The main dining room is filled with tables and chairs. The lighting is kept a little dark with their windows covered and tinted. There's music and even during lunch time there's a roaming band that is mic'ed and thus very loud. They really don't need to be mic'ed because everyone in the restaurant can hear their instruments just fine. The members have very nice voices too. It was a late Saturday afternoon and they weren't really busy so we were seated immediately. Our server Yanet brought us water right away. Fried Yuca root: Salted just right. Nice crispy fry and soft on the inside. Loved it. Yummy! Fried plantains: On par. Cooked just right and delicious. The sweetness of these plantains were a nice contrast to the rest of our meal. Beef empanadillas: Also known as fried Puerto Rican turnovers, they didn't look like the same as on the menu, but these hand pies can be shaped however you desire I suppose. The important part was how it tasted. The fried dough could've been flakier, but the taste was spot on. I would've preferred the dough to be a little thinner as parts of the empanadilla was rolled over itself so it was just thick dough with no filling at all. The seasoned ground beef inside was delicious. Yom Yom Yom. Chicken Marisco: The large chicken breast was grilled nicely then topped with cheese, spices and about 5 large shrimp (with tail on). Personally I would've dialed back the cheese topping because it was really overpowering the whole dish. The blend of spices made the cheese topping almost into a thick gravy that just engulfed and smothered the chicken with shrimp hiding underneath. I'm glad I had the yuca root as a side. If I return I would like to try their flank steak. Something worth mentioning is that the prices of some of their entrees are a lot (not a bit) on the high side, but their portions are large. It's on a strip next to starbucks and mini golf.parking isn't too bad and the sign can throw you off if you're not paying attention. The specialty drinks was a nice touch since you're pretty much paying for the collectable cups. Too pricey for my liking and the we finally meet our waiter. At first he seemed good but we notice a few things being forgotten. The food didn't match the prices at all. I got the skirt steak and rice while my bf ordered the grilled pork chop. The food seemed bland which was disappointing when you spend all that money. Waiting for the check was a little too long as well. Not like it was packed out. I like supporting local businesses but I definitely don't like wasting my time and money. I would suggest coming down on the prices and maybe give a little extra sprinkle with the seasoning lol. I know tourist are the main focus to most businesses so they tend to cut back on certain things.
