Since I had no idea what their business hours were, (it was 8PM) I called this place with the provided phone number on Yelp but nobody answered. We decided to take a shot and see if it was open, and it was! **(BTW their business hours are Monday-Thursday from 8AM to 11PM and Friday & Saturday from 8AM to 3AM!)** Mexican is my FAVORITE. I can literally eat it 3 meals a day, everyday. I am on the hunt for the best burrito, so every Mexican restaurant I encounter, it is a must that I order their burrito! PARKING: Definitely no parking lot or garage, so you'd have to park on the street right in front of this spot, or next door at the gas station. It's a pretty small building so if you see the gas station it's right next to it! ENVIRONMENT: This is what saddens me.. the place looked disgusting. Not a place I would ever dine in. Now reading that there was a rat in the restroom.. I believe it.. I do like that they cook the food right in front of you, directly behind the cashier so I felt a bit more at ease. Our total was $15.01 (because there was a $1 charge for using cards). Here's what happened.. my burrito smelled like metal?! WHY? Not the meat, not any of the toppings in it, but the actual tortilla itself. Was it because he used a metal table? Or was it because of his hands?? The cook didn't use gloves, so that kind of disturbed me a little bit. I thought it was so weird, I had my bf and friend take a whiff of my burrito because it literally reeked of metal. Now I feel sick just thinking about having devoured the whole thing.. *My friend ordered carne asada quesadillas and they forgot to put the carne asada in it and he was charged. SERVICE: I applaud these men for working so hard, they're so sweet and generous, and I mean they work until THREE AM!! That is nuts! Before I could put my credit card away, my burrito was ready! They are super quick! I just hope for the best for this restaurant. They really need to renovate and maybe hire more employees since the cashier (owner?) looked exhausted! I know they can do better. When I came in, I was greeted and helped by very friendly guys and this spot had definite hidden gem vibes. It's a small restaurant nestled in a strip mall of Ontario. I ordered the torta ahogada lunch special, which I felt was a screaming deal. $11.99 (as of early 2025 on a weekday) for the sandwich and two tacos dorados - which I chose bean and potato. The tacos were perfectly crispy and delicious. The torta ahogada might be one of my new favorite food items. I'm a big fan of saucy comfort foods and this checks a lot of boxes. The bread (I believe was birote or Mexican sourdough) was firm and had a nice crunch so it held up for a good amount of time even after getting smothered by the flavorful sauce. The carnitas was well prepared and had a great texture. I deposited a check at a bank nearby during my lunchbreak and saw that this place was just around the corner. So I went and ordered to go to bring back to work. Everything was very neatly packaged and they gave the sauce in a ziplock bag so it was contained really well without spilling out.
