I'm pretty picky on where I get my carnitas...I grew up eating them my whole life as we're from Michoacán. They were fresh, not overly greasy, and tasty. I recommend to get there before 9am so you get more choices on what you want (mixtas, cuerito etc). The red salsa was good but the only thing I wasn't a fan of were the tortillas unfortunately. It's $11.99/lb for the carnitas. I also got a small bag of chicharrones ($7.99) and a small 8oz of guacamole ($4.49). The total came out to $39.65 with tax. It was so nice to finally find a place for carnitas that is truly authentic! Before we even walked in, the aroma of the carnitas hits your nose once you open the door of your car in the parking lot. We got there just in time on a Sunday. There were only two customers in line and when we left, the line was nearly out the door. They were quick and efficient. The taste...OMG! Maybe. But they were VERY bland. No salt. Nothing. And why are all the tortillas stuck in two's? I can't and refuse to make a taco out of these big tortillas, if they were smaller, maybe. They have a red salsa that is spicy goes great with the tacos - just hate the fact that they give you a hard time to give you one because that salsa is only for tortas, makes no sense, salsa is salsa. I've visited this place a few times, and their carnitas are among the best in the area. However, I was quite disappointed with the service during my recent visit. I had told my wife about this spot, and after checking Yelp, we saw that it was supposed to close at 9 PM. We arrived at 8:10 PM, only to find the restrooms closed for cleaning. Additionally, half of the restaurant's chairs were also unavailable due to cleaning, forcing us to sit at the tall tables by the cashier. To make matters worse, they were using strong cleaning chemicals throughout the restaurant while we were trying to enjoy our meal. The odors were overwhelming, and we had to ask for to-go boxes because of it. At one point, one of the staff even started cleaning the windows with a potent cleaner right next to us. I just can't understand why a restaurant would begin cleaning at 8 PM when they close at 9 PM. Why not wait until after closing to start that process? I originally came for the torta ahogada and it was fairly good, I would most likely not get it again since the salsa makes it or breaks it and I did not like the salsa but the tacos de carnita were up there! I walked in at 11:45 a.m., and the place had a steady flow of customers coming and going. Unfortunately, the service at the front counter was terrible. The very heavy-set cashier, who was engaged in a conversation with a co-worker, completely ignored me for several minutes. When she finally acknowledged me, she seemed annoyed to take my order. I asked for two pounds of carnitas, but she responded by saying she needed to check if they had enough meat. Seriously? The sign outside advertises "CARNITAS"--that's like Starbucks running out of coffee beans. The customer service was poor, and the carnitas were average--nothing special, about the same quality you'd find at Cardenas. The Horchata is perfectly made, and a Mexican Coke quench the thirst . We also ordered a bag of chicharones to go, and these were great as well .The structure is roomy with tables and booths to sit down and enjoy your meal, there is a big screen TV to watch sports or what have you.The service is courteous and friendly and you receive your meal in no time. The food is amazing. The Carnitas are super authentic. I've actually been going here since they first open and my friends actually told me that he used to sell out his house down the street. I recommend a lot of people over there. I always tell them to go over there nobody ever gets disappointed. These are literally one of the best car those around in my opinion probably the best in the Empire. The service is excellent. They're on point and they're fast the ambience is great. Everything is always clean. They're highly professional. I'm not sure though when you get her to go order for whatever reason they don't give you lemons and apparently you can't even buy them, but besides that you really don't even need them.
