When you need good Mexican this is the spot in Greenville. I have never had a bad meal here. The facility has a large parking lot out front of the building. The establishment is in a strip business setup. They do have two doors but one says use other door so look for the sign. When you get inside the decor is beautiful, bright and clean. I appreciate that. We were greeted with a big smile and seated promptly in the bar area (our request). My husband asked for the Margarita with a beer as a kicker, I had the ultimate Margarita 47 Oz. These are incredible and hit the spot Everytime. My husband enjoys the quesadilla El rancho. I had the corn steak tacos with cilantro and onion meal that comes with beans and rice. When seated they bring a complimentary basket of chips and salsa. There is a charge if you want extra chips and salsa. The bathrooms are clean and well tended. The facility is well lit, smelled good and comfortable. Great place for groups. Staff super friendly. English was good but mostly Spanish speaking. I come to town for an event every year and I have to say this is my favorite place to eat. It's not fancy by any stretch but the food is good, the service is quick and the margaritas are good. This time I had the fajitas pina and it was a literal TON of food that I could barely eat. Chorizo, steak and chicken with grilled pineapple and a lot of green peppers - try good. I have eaten at this restaurant several times over the years and have not had any issues. However the most recent visit on June 18th was not satisfactory. There was a hair found in the food in 2 places. When brought to the waitress' attention she said sorry and took away the food and offered to bring another. The food was very good here and service was so fast I couldn't believe it. They brought out the traditional chips and salsa and the salsa had a very great roasted taste to it. My friend ordered a combination meal with the tamale and a Chalupa. I got the El Diablo shrimp dinner which had 20 shrimp and came with rice and beans and three flour tortillas which was way too much food. Was on a work trip and stopped here based off of yelp reviews. I give this place a solid 4 stars, but the service I got was better than anywhere in the past 3 months - so they deserve 5. The food is your typical Tex Mex, they offer a variety of typical dishes and more. They also have a decent alcohol menu, had wine since I was driving, but was dying to try a margarita! I ordered the steak tacos with cilantro and onions 5/5 - steak was juicy and fresh - you just can't go wrong with tacos. There is not much to compare to in Greenville when it comes to Tex-Mex. We visited El Rancho at the end of lunch hour and it was quite busy. No wait for a table and the service was quick. Had the Loco Burrito and it was filled with chicken, steak, shrimp. It was topped off with a nice cheese sauce. I got extra cheese and it was bit pricy, $3.50 for a small sauce bowl. The total with no drink came out to be around $13. I would try the place again, but not order extra cheese. Our waiter was ok but not the best. Not my favorite Mexican place I've ever been to. Staff is very kind, so I feel bad for giving such a terrible review. The food made my entire family very ill twice. Enchiladas were very sad, just a corn tortilla wrapped around plain chicken with a canned sauce on top. Chips and salsa were very bland. This is the best Mexican food in the area. We are from ATL, where Mexican food is ubiquitous, and have tried at least six other places between Greenville and 28th St without finding a place we could agree on. I love super authentic (ie. The menu is in Spanish) and my husband likes "Americanized" (ie. They bring you unlimited chips and salsa). This place is the best of both worlds IMO. The unlimited salsa is fresh and the "create your own tacos" are on par with an authentic taqueria. And pricing was great... Hubs and I left stuffed for less than $25. The service was courteous and lightening fast. I had chips and salsa as an appetizer plus enchiladas. I really liked the chips, but the salsa could have used more cilantro. I thought the enchiladas were average. The interior was much nicer than most Mexican restaurants I've been to, but a lot of chain places tend to emphasize cleanliness. I wanted to go to Downtown Trini's in Sparta, but since it's Sunday, it's closed, so off to the chain place I go. There is a great pizza restaurant in Hazel Park, Michigan called Loui's that is closed Monday and Tuesday, but is open the rest of the week. I wish more restaurants would use that schedule because they'd also make a lot more money being open both weekend days. I'd go back here again, but I might have to ask for more cilantro. read more

Amazing food is vey consistent. The waitress, and waiters are very nice and interactive. The wait times are low and even if you are waiting there is always chips sitting on the table for you. If you don't like going to public because of the virus they have curbside pickup, or if you're looking for a good time and watch sports el rancho is also a bar. read more

Salsa Picosa is hot and the salsa verde is tasty. The queso Blanco is great with scallops. So good. My friend Randy order a tall bud light but they were out so at first we were disappointed but they had a DOS eques for a dollar less so it was OK. I had a sangria. One of the worse meals I attempted to eat. Carnitas Mexican for $13.99 we're fatty chunks of flavorless pork. Fried chimichangas were mushy. Kids meals inedible. Mexican pizza was just doughie 4" frozen pizza with nothing Mexican about it. Second kid's meal was a corndog. A kid who normally loves corndogs, took one bit and said it didn't taste good. Took it home for the barn cats. They wouldn't eat it either. This place gets 2 stars only because the guacamole and chips we're good. Service was terrible. This is also the place that previously added $38 to my charge, so if you pay with a card, check your statement. read more
