Place is a little different due to layout and connection of several businesses. Order didn't take to long which in my mind seems good. If it's fast that means everything was pre cooked, And ain't nobody got time for a long wait on tacos. Got a Al pastor, tongue ,chorizo taco and some elote. Meat was tender on all the tacos but Chorizo definitely had the most flavor. Elote was definitely the star of the show. Wait what, how have I not reviewed this yet? One of my favorite Mexican spots in the area. They are now takeout only but that's no issue to me. Their food is reasonably priced, tasty, and authentic. I am a fan of their tortas and husband loves the shrimp quesadilla. Only complaint is they are not open sunday! But hey, west Michigan. They are also attached to La Piña Loca candy shop with lots of Mexican candy. They also make piñatas. Great spot to try something new. read more

This is only take out, and the majority of what they post about and have signs about in the windows is candy and ice cream for some reason. No clue why because the food is amazing. You can stop reading here and just go get tacos or burritos or tortas or whatever you want here if you're seeking Mexican food because it's just GREAT. For whatever reason wherever I travel in the US has horrible Mexican food outside of Chicago and maybe 2-3 other places in the US. Just all the wrong ingredients or it's "Tex Mex" which should be outlawed as it's the worst food on the planet. In the Grand Rapids area I've gone to 5-6 places, all 100% awful, all over salted with ghetto ingredients and every dish is some Temu version of what it's supposed to be. BUT Mega Tacos was OUTSTANDING with awesome prices. Do not be scared off by the candy store/ice cream foot forward of whatever they're advertising, it's divided into two sides, the smaller food ordering side and the larger dessert side. If I was them I'd flip the emphasis but I don't think they realize how far above and beyond the quality of their food is compared to every place in a 30 mile radius! My son found this location and we wanted to add it to our GR taco tour list! It was awesome. The tacos were incredible but my favorite part of the whole experience was chatting with one of the employees while we were waiting for our tacos. We talked about quarantine and my daughter's upcoming wedding and about having to make the decision to postpone her daughter's quinceañera. It was a good conversation. I kinda wished the tacos had taken a little longer. Anyway, I had a tripe taco, an al pastor taco, and a barbacoa taco. All 3 were amazing! The tripe could've been even a bit more crispy but it was really good. The al pastor may be my all time favorite taco and this one didn't disappoint! A new place on Clyde Park in Wyoming. The atmosphere is a small restaurant with about 8 tables inside. I ordered the Steak burrito and the marinaded pork taco. They were both much more authentic than my normal burrito places. They were both very good. They are not the best burritos or tacos I've ever had. They are clearly better than the average though. Overall 4 stars. I would definitely return and I want to try their wet burrito. read more

With Wyoming and Grand Rapids being such a densely populated taco oasis, I've become particular about my tacos. I saw the super positive reviews of this place so I convinced my husband to go pick us up some. These tacos were visually-appealing, they looked awesome! Sadly, they seemed to be lacking seasoning-wise. I tried a barbocoa (shredded beef), pollo (chicken) and chorizo (pork sausage). The barbocoa didn't really seem to have any flavor at all - it was shredded and must have been marinaded as it was quite tender but just lacked a good seasoning. The pollo was also tender and shredded well but that too - lacked flavor. Lastly, the chorizo had a nice texture snd had charred bits - I really liked that but again, flavor was lacking. Im used to having a nice, spicy and flavorful chorizo so it just missed the mark for me. There were 2 salsa options - the green one had the texture and appearance of a creamy guac but it was just creamy and spicy. The reddish/orange was kind of slimy and hot as well. I want a fan of either. I had high expectations but I probably won't be back as there are just too many other good options around. For those that are looking for a mild taco option (not much seasoning), this may be the place for you! read more

This hidden gem... Lemme tell ya! Highly recommend! Authentic Mexican food, everything tastes very fresh and it's cooked to order. The customer service is phenomenal and friendly - also fluent English and Spanish for multilingual customers. Very clean establishment, often seen them cleaning inside and out. We get take out here often and our food is always ready within a very reasonable time frame even when they are slammed (which is often because they are great!). A cute candy store attached as well. I've had quite a bit from their menu, and can say that everything I've tried is great. Their rice is a huge hit, especially with my kids. Awesome nachos. Their shrimp tacos are to die for. Their wet burritos are ridiculously good too and my go to. Great portions, you can't go wrong with any choice here. They work hard for their awesome restaurant, so seeing them thriving with customers is so awesome. We were told they are expanding soon for more seating inside. First, on the location: This restaurant is attached to a candy store, and the aesthetic of both places is very cheerful and cutesie. Mega Tacos was clean and orderly, with a plexiglass barrier at the counter and proper mask usage by employees. You can see the kitchen from the counter which is always an added bonus. They are currently only open for takeout, so there was no seating. (Perfect for work lunches if you work nearby, like I do.) The woman who took my order on the phone was very polite and didn't rush me, which I appreciated. (I don't speak any Spanish, so I also appreciated that she understood my botched attempts at pronunciation and also spoke English.) She ended up waiting on me at the counter as well, and she was lovely and answered all my questions warmly. Now the food: My god, how have I not heard about this place sooner?! It has been here for two whole years, right by my office, and I've only just discovered it?! I got three tacos: pollo, barbacoa, and al pastor. They were all delicious, and the portion sizes were large and generous. The pollo was flavorful and wasn't dry at all (which I come across a lot with chicken tacos), the barbacoa was very rich and tender, just falling apart in my mouth, and the al pastor (my favorite) had some crispier bits in it along with some pineapple. DELICIOUS. Both sauces were about mild-medium heat and well-rounded flavor-wise. The green sauce was creamy; I think it may have been an avocado crema? Different than what you usually get, but very tasty. I am already looking forward to coming back for gorditas on a Thursday! So glad to have found this gem so close to work. read more

I was craving tacos and decided to try this place. I got the steak tacos and a side of rice. The rice was ABSOLUTELY amazing! It didn't taste like Mexican rice -it was lighter in color and fluffier but it was really good & flavorful! I really enjoy how they fry their tortillas for tacos, very good flavor. I usually stick with carne Asada but tried the shrimp and it was good as well. They have an icee machine which is nice as you can get an icee Jarrito! They have pineapple, mandarin and a couple of other flavors. I can say I tried both the pineapple and mandarin and they were cold and good except the flavors were very similar to each other. Their horchata was just ok for me at that time, im going to order again and see. IDK if it's a taco spot issue but they have problems with their phone line all the time too. The phone just rings and rings. I did notice last time I went that they had the phone off the hook and just sitting to the side. No one was on it so sometimes I feel they might get over whelmed with orders? Either way, very solid spot and will continue to support. This was my first time dinning Here at this restaurant. We had to wait about 30 minute for food. which was ok. My grandson and I order 2 chicken, 2 streak taco and a steak Quesadilla. I am so sad to say it was not done as you can see from the pictures the cheese was not melt at all the meat did not seem done. The best part of a quesadilla is the melt cheese. I add sauce to it . But I shouldn't be about to pull it apart. and I am still lost on why the lettuce was on it. I called, not asking or ever said I want more food or my money back. Was not rude or disrespectful. But I want to let them know this food was not right after paying 25 dollars for it. When I called I was placed on hold. A lady came to the phone and ask me for my name and what I order. I went on to explain what was wrong with the food. And was told that different people have different tastes. And why I just didn't bring it back. There was no sorry or anything. She left me feeling a little lost and Irrelevant. Like I was trying to scam her out more food or money. And who is different people. No one I no like under cooked food.
